Russ, I loved your segment on The Center of The World in Felicity, CA. It was a surprise when I happened upon your piece while wandering thru a series of links to all sorts of curious places. I especially enjoyed your appreciative commentary about it--and you immediately recognized the incredible expense required to establish such a unique place. I have somewhat of a humble claim to fame here because my name is on one of the granite panels in the category of "Hall of Fame of Parachuting." Jacques Istel, the founder, mayor (and half of the population of Felicity), is the mastermind, passion, and funding behind this place. He is also a pioneer and innovator for parachuting activities in the United States during the sport's infancy in the 1960s. He put my name on the wall because I'm the administrator for a unique women's parachuting award program which was started in 1969. The program fell into oblivion for over 20 years until I revived it in 2012 and it now includes over 1,700 women skydivers who have met the criteria to earn the award. I have a travel trailer that is my home when I visit drop zones to skydive in different places. This summer, I'm headed for "heartland" America to jump in 12 states there which will complete my goal to make a skydive in all 50 states. Maybe our paths will cross some day on a future journey! Happy Trails from one senior traveler to another! Nancy Gruttman-Tyler P.S. The spiral stairway to nowhere is actually part of the Eiffel Tower. In response to your suggestion that it is possibly supported by schools or universities--it is not. It's all private funding and a labor of love.
Those big rafts you saw at Lee’s Ferry, that company is out of Flagstaff. The trip on those J-rigs is 8 days to that Peach Springs takeout you mentioned, or 10 days to Lake Mead.
In the off chance you might be wondering, I think that bell was the police station / fire station bell. That small parking lot next to the City Hall was where the old police station / fire station stood. They said it was so old that it was going to fall down. They had to bring a wrecking ball in to knock it down.
At the 1:22:13 mark was where I stopped the first time and walked up to that edge and saw a woman from NC with her husband and kids doing cheers from her high school days. Until her kids said “Mom,Mom there’s somebody here.” lol she was embarrassed but laughed about it. Meeting new people on the road is fun as well as the scenery.
The southwest is my favorite scenic area in the whole country! I just found your channel but I'm really enjoying it. Thanks for sharing your travels with us!
A fantastic film of some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world. Arizona is almost another planet .Look forward to your journey through the equally otherworldly Utah .

Great video! Thanks for sharing. This is one of my favorite areas in the country. I'm curious what you are filming with. Phone? Camera? It's great quality!
I was bedridden for 15 weeks with a Staph infection. Your videos were part of my rehab. I watched them all, some twice. Thank you for the time and effort. Really incredible film and editing.
Fascinating video! I had never heard this story about Kincade's cave. The Grand Canyon is an awesome place. Thank you for sharing with us. Bright Blessings & Many Smiles!
Wow this is amazing. This is a part of Arizona I never knew existed and it is so beautiful. When I was a kid my family lived in Yuma and we used to travel to west Texas to visit relatives and back my times, so I've travelled through southern Arizona, and I have travelled from Denver through New Mexico to Flagstaff and then Phoenix, back to Flagstaff and then to Las Vegas. Other than the north rim of the Grand Canyon I never thought there was much more to see in northern Arizona. This is a great adventure and thank you for taking us along for the ride.
I absolutely loved watching this journey with you! I live in Washington and haven't done this whole state route 20 except for the east side of Washington! Love it! Thank you!!
When did you travel through Marble Canyon? My wife and me just went through there the last week of April. Beautiful area. We enjoyed all of your video! Thanks for the memories. From Ohio
I remember driving that road in about 1946 in my parents 41 Ford. We went to a basketball game between Eureka and Austin that ended up in a fight on the gym floor. Iguana Dave A
Lee’s Ferry Grand Canyon rapids trip approximately, you can do 7 days to Phantom Ranch & hike out, or hike down and do 6 days on the river, or you can do full trip for 13ish days. Like I said approx. I dropped my daughter off for her 12-13 day trip.. went to the bridge and waited for them to come under the bridge. It was epic!
Love your wide angle forward facing cam, but the side cam is great when there’s something special on the side. So, both cam’s make your content really great! Great thoughtful editing❣️ This whole segment was a trip down memory lane, THANKS❣️
Hi. @ 32:57 when you say the name of the park you should also say the phone number along with the name. Not just say there's the number for people who are listening but may not be watching, and for people who are hard of seeing.
