Welcome to my channel. I'm all about VR content here, mainly Sims, mostly racing, but I occasionally indulge in other VR titles. Also I like to do the odd hardware review.
I got that steering wheel its great , i bought some pedals and the load cell , then i had to pay £86 import tax and £12 carridge , from Germany , i was a bit shell shocked. But i voted for brexit so cant complain.
I bought one used, and I am highly satisfied with the build quality and rigidity, the only small problem is the pedal base flex, but it can be fixed with a little work, just put a base pillar under the front of the plate.
You can decorate your fanatec wheel and seat theres a french company i cant name because i will have my blog deleted who do gorgeous stickers of most the F1 teams .
I get wierd warping with FSR, reminds me of the warping you got in Playstation 1 games. DLSS looks great. Using a RTX3070 with Quest 2, oh yes the rearview mirrors looked like a C64 game with FSR, while with DLSS they look normal. I use the FRR extension also to get lower render resolution at areas where you dont look for better Framerate.
I only use the pimax for sim racing, which means I don't need those bloody awful base stations, inside out tracking works great and it's bliss using VR without the base stations.
So basically I should go with an aluminum profile rig if I’m going to have 11nm -20nm torque, so as much as I love the assetto corsa edition. I’ll have to buy something else because of the flex
100% there with you, as soon as it stutters or goes ghosty it kills the immersion i bought the headset for. Cant believe how taxing acc is in vr, only play it on monitors with my grampa 1080ti.
I didn't like the experience with 30% reprojection. Only after I dropped the quality to low did I get 90 fps with low reprojection ratios and a comfortable experience (using the 3080 Ti)
Please say you now have a GPU support underneath supporting it? I had a GYX 1080 that ended up bending the metal back plate amd the sag after 18 months was unbelievable. I'll never run a GPU without a support bracket again.
I notice you use a Vive pro. Have you done any mods to it like the Gear VR mod? I had the original Vive but hated the lenses so would be interested to know if you modded yours and if you have tried the Valve index? The reason I ask is because I have the Valve index but I hate the LCD screens and moss OLED as I enjoy VR racing set to night time. Appreciate your reply.
The only mod I've done to my vive is gaffer taped my ear phones the back of it as the built in speakers are poo. I havn't done anything to the lenses, Gear VR lenses would be better especially at night or in high contrast situs, but I've made my peace with the fresnel lenses and I can't really be bothered to swap them out now.
Great idea. Was thinking about using a magnet with a hole and cutting a small slot in the bottom cover. This way the second magnet can be adjusted (or removed) from the bottom using a screw.
looks like you are CPU bottledneck, the 5800X3D would be a big upgrade for you in the game. Or you could wait for the 7800X3D which will be an absolute monster, that CPU will smoke this game.
I own an old Dell Visor and have been considering getting a Quest 2. I briefly owned a Reverb G2 but it was not playing ball at all so I chucked my toys out the pram and sent it back. I'm currently running a Ryzen 7 5800x with an RTX3070.... Do you think that my PC would run a Quest 2 for ACC?
Hi, nice video. Is the footage in the video how you see it in the headset? I have a lower spec system to yours and I'm suffering a lot of blurryness in acc. Wondering about upgrading to a 3070ti build

Hello! Tell me please. I recently purchased pumax 5k plus . When watching any video, especially in a virtual desktop, round lens flares are visible on a black background. In a color picture, they are almost invisible, but on a black background they really interfere. It's like a fog effect. Is this normal? I have a pimax 4k there is no such problem.

Atm i use the rift s for iracing and ive just ordered this wheel with the csl dd bundle and im moving to triple screens purely so i can use ALL the buttons as well as a button box or two, vr is fantastic fun and really immersive but to get the full potential of sim racing then them darn buttons are important and help massively for the win....!
A lot of people complain that it looks blurry in the distance (looking at a corner coming up or cars in the distance). Did you find that? I presume DLSS would make that worse?
Sorry but there is no freaking way I’m playing this with spikes down to 45. This game is great but folks, do yourselves a favor and forget about VR. AC and AMS2 works much better. Edit: could your spikes down to 45 be the result of motion smoothing being on? If so, try with that off.
Does your experience change when racing online with similar amount of cars? I am thinking of getting 3080 and reverb g2 but your "adventure" makes me want to just duplicate your setup and work on it as I can see there is a chance of this monstrosity to work properly.
In the past my experience with online racing has always been worse in terms of VR performance, but TBH I've not gone online racing with this rig yet. Sort of gave up on it as there are too many assholes about. If you're interested in replicating this setup I have follow up "through the lens" vid that covers ACCs newer DLSS and FSR settings
@@JimVR I am completely new in the PC sim racing subject and currently have blank page, so I just try to replicate the ones that are working. Hopefully I can get it running at decent level of perfomrance. Do you have any experience with AC or iR on your setup?
I have some questions about the Formula v2.5, would you give me an answer? 1. Does it come with a quick release adapter? 2. Do I need an adapter to use it on DD Pro? Thanks
It ships with a quick release that mounts to the DD 1, 2 and CSL bases. I have no info about the DD Pro, you'll have to have a look on fanatec site and see if it accepts different rims, and if it does, what interface it has
Thanks for this. I’ve been dipping in and out of AMS2 in VR on my sons AMD3600 / 2070S setup at mostly low settings and 3 or 4 cars. Have just ordered an i9 / 3080ti setup for myself, so it’s exciting to see how much better it will be. Would you mind sharing your Oculus link settings and in game settings, please? Are you targeting 90fps? Thanks.
i wouldnt want to ruin your hopes, u already probably have the new GPU, so maybe you can actually help me out, i got 3080 and everything on low, car details on HIGH and low MSAA and quest 2 res at 1,2x and in thundersturm and rain i cant get 80 fps with 10 cars on track, like at all.....any idea?
@@BeowulfGaming I don't drive in rain really, so fps hasn't been an issue. I run mostly high settings, quest at 1.5, and full grid at 90fps. I have the Quest encode rate and render resolution bumped up in ODT too.
@@zerolight9420 thanks, can you tell me your exact ODT settings in terms of distortion curve, and encoding and bitrate? i dont know where the issue is, might be nvidia drivers but i can run on lowest settings at 1,2x quest 2 res, not more to achieve 90 fps on clear day, strangely enough, PC2 is fine even in rain, but AMS2 is not, which is weird since its basically the same game
Nice video man..I just ordered the 3080 ti at mrsp price..just to give advice no pun intended lol..if you turn Effects and processing down to mid or even low..I believe you will get far better reliable fps..as when I have had them turned up..it can really give you some jutters..and that's with my RTX 2080 Super..so give it a try..
11:00 can’t you adjust the in game FOV to compensate for the extra VR FOV? Also you’ve said ACC takes a hit vs your vive setup what refresh rate were you on with the pm5k? 160hz is 2x the cpu/gpu if your vive maxes out at 90
Holy cow that graphics card compressed in that case 😂👍 Nice stuff. I hear since update 1.8 the VR experience improved. I just ordered a 3080 Ti as well. Going to use it with a HP Reverb G2.
Nice. I have gone with a simpler approach as I fly different planes in DCS and the burners seem to kick in at different points. I just stick a bit of blue tack in the place where my thumb will feel it as I slide the throttle forward. My thumb hangs down and when I feel the blue tack I stop. Easy enough to align when you pull back as well. I do like this magnet approach though so may give it a go but need to do it in a way I can move the inner magnet.
