Really enjoyable video - thank you. I'm halfway through a new build and I cannot wait to do some racing in VR, so this video was perfect (nice delivery by the way).
This is fantastic content, and super useful for VR simracers considering their next upgrade. I have the same headset and was looking for videos like this a few months ago when I was upgrading from a ryzen 3600 with a gtx1070. I ended up with similar, slightly lesser hardware (ryzen 5600x, rtx 3080) and have been pretty happy. I still can't max the graphics on AMS2 though.
Thanks for watching, I can't max AMS2 either, but I've found there's not a hell of a lot of difference between medium and high settings, so at medium with a bit of super sampling everything looks crisp and runs at 90fps all the time
When I built my VR system a few years back, Heat was the #1 issue, if you notice frame drops, check heat. CPU/GPU will self throttle to protect themselves. Playing with Push/Pull fan setups really helped me. Still need a 3080TI, but getting a handle on heat is a VR imperative. Even the original AC took a monster to run properly...but oh what a game. nice videos.
Can I ask what configuration worked best for you for cooling? I'm waiting on parts for my 3080TI/5900X rig with an AIO liquid cooler and debating fan placement.

If you're not in a hurry best wait a while, maybe the market will settle down. I'm impatient and need diversion from reality and still had trouble justifying the cost. Thanks for watching 👍
Nice video man..I just ordered the 3080 ti at mrsp price..just to give advice no pun intended lol..if you turn Effects and processing down to mid or even low..I believe you will get far better reliable fps..as when I have had them turned up..it can really give you some jutters..and that's with my RTX 2080 Super..so give it a try..
Hi, nice video. Is the footage in the video how you see it in the headset? I have a lower spec system to yours and I'm suffering a lot of blurryness in acc. Wondering about upgrading to a 3070ti build
I didn't like the experience with 30% reprojection. Only after I dropped the quality to low did I get 90 fps with low reprojection ratios and a comfortable experience (using the 3080 Ti)
Please say you now have a GPU support underneath supporting it? I had a GYX 1080 that ended up bending the metal back plate amd the sag after 18 months was unbelievable. I'll never run a GPU without a support bracket again.
Thank you for these information. What i don't understand is that i have a 6900 XT and Ryzen 5800x hp reverb G2 as VR headset and at 100% SS i have 25 fps in game :'(
Im not to familiar with the AMD cards, but according to UserBenchmark, the 3080ti is around 20% more powerful, that plus your headset has much higher native resolution than mine might account for the lower fps, but i would also suspect other system bottlenecks such as other progs running in the background. You could try Amd fsr, it will run the game at lower resolution and then use fancy methods to upscale the result back to normal res, so you get better fps, i wasn't running it in this vid, but since making this I've used it to get more resolution clarity with no extra fps loss. Also kunos say they're gonna add DLSS to the game soon, so hopefully that will improve vr alot
@@BanShanOfficial unfortunately, AMD cards are not very good for VR. I got a 6800 XT that performed worse than my previous 2070 Super. Now I’m using a 3080 TI and I’m very happy with it.
I’ve tried ACC VR with a 3070ti and 5600x and OQ2. The results were nothing like your vids. Simply a mess anything more than 10 metres beyond the car. Couldn’t read any of the signs or bridge text on them until right up to them. So I am thinking your headset is significantly better than the oq2 or you have some pixie dust. Are your video images for the last five mins of the vid representative of the HMD image? If so I may try agi n with exactly your settings. I’ll have lower FPS with the 3070ti but I’d love to see that ACC can even do those images in VR.
100% there with you, as soon as it stutters or goes ghosty it kills the immersion i bought the headset for. Cant believe how taxing acc is in vr, only play it on monitors with my grampa 1080ti.
@@JimVR I am thinking of buying a 3080, I have a 3700x but I will probably have to upgrade the cpu if I want good performance. Kunos announced DLSS to be added to ACC, that will give amazing results especially on VR im sure. Now I gotta see which VR Headset I buy...
Yes I have, I was super exited for the dlss, but quite frankly i was disappointed in how much it degrades the quality of the image, even on quality with sharpness at full, the graphic quality in the headset isn't as good as standard. Fps is better however, but not significatly so. The amd fsr allows bettee graphics fidelity, setting that at quality, with 90% sharpness and 130% resolution scale makes everything insanely sharp and the performance is pretty much the same as what I encountered in this video. I'm going to do some more testing with dlss and other stuff like steam vr settings to see if I can get more quality out of it.
I don’t know how you’re getting such good performance. With a 3080ti mine all looks like shit. If I set everything to low and then dlss on ultra performance I can get just over 80 but it looks like complete crap. Honestly unplayable. Nothing like yours. ACC is the only game I have issues with.
ACC is a nightmare to get working right, I've put hours and hours in tweaking things and testing things, so I feel your pain. This vid was made before the DLSS update. When it landed I tried DLSS out and it was shit. Pretty much what you described, a blurry awful mess. However I found I can use the FSR system to much better effect. Basically the game behaves as it does in this video, but with much sharper graphics in the headset. I'm not near my sim machine right now, but from memory my settings are FSR enabled, FSR quality high, FSR sharpness around 25, I also bumped resolution scale to 130%, and the antialiasing set to high... sorry cant remember what type I was using. The other settings I believe are how they appear in the video for the most part. Steam VR settings are the same, so SS 150, and no custom res multiplier for the game. Bear in mind I'm using a vive pro, which doesn't have the kind of resolution the higher end HMDs like reverb and pimax, so if you're on on of those, you're gonna loose FPS pushing the extra resolution. Hope that helps.
