Welcome to my channel! As you can probably imagine I have been an aviation geek all my life. I love all things RC, and I want to share my passion with you. Enjoy…
@@jimpuff8409 it does add minimal weight on a plane this size but it does not effect the performance. I would not recommend this on a mini or micro size plane where weight is more important.
Love my Husky, what a fantastic plane. Its even easier than the Timber to land being nice and heavy with those huge wings, it just plops right where you want when you want. Unlike the Timber, Tundra, or Bigfoot that like to float a bit because they are so light.
No this update does not give you additional channels to the receiver. There is an update for appropriate radios that does increase the number of channels of the radio.
@@eddieksrc Yes. I saw the NX and IX series Txs get the high channel count, 20 or so. I only have the DX so I guess I'll have to upgrade to an NX if I want the extra channels.
@@eddieksrc definitely understand that. I notice all the planes I've seen you fly are pretty large so they seem to do well on the grass. All of my planes are 1.2 wingspan and they really struggle on the grass at my club's airfield. Luckily there is a concrete runway.
I put my planes into SAFE mode to check the gyro response. If that option works like that if you don't have SAFE enabled, it would be easier to tell what the surfaces are doing. I take the prop off when setting up my planes. To check the gyro direction on the rudder, you have to open the throttle above 25% to activate AS3X. If the Gyro Response utility makes the rudder move without opening the throttle, that would be good. I don't go to a new restaurant until they're been open for at least 30 days. So, it'll be about a month before I install the new firmware.
Nice video but you forgot to point out that the Spektrum PC Programmer has also been updated to v3.9 dated 07-18-2024. Previous versions MAY NOT update your receivers properly.
I have 4 updated So... far! only 1 needed me to factory reset it again. FM was not functioning properly. model names in the programmer seemed to have limited characters on some recievers.
A bit off topic here but I noticed that you had a multi servo connection block from the wings to the receiver, what did you use for this? I have been looking for a solution for while as the "rats nest" is doing my head in 😆. Maybe another video showing this?
Thanks Eddie great video!! Quick question..So if I just do a factory reset on my receiver from my Transmitter it will automatically upgrade it to the AS#X+ firmware? I don't have to download it from my laptop?
I’m glad I decided to do the videos. I hope it helps some of the guys that are having troubles with the update…. Thanks for the encouragement my Friend!
Could you immediately go fly after this update (in other words does it keep all your old settings) or do you have to run through the setup again as if you just installed a brand new receiver?
To access all the new AS3X+ features you need to factory reset the receiver in forward programming and then set up AS3X+ in your radio. I will post up a video on how I did that very soon.
DON’T BUY a sound module for this T-28. What the poster did NOT SHOW was in-flight performance, which is abysmal. I tried it, a friend has tried it, and because of the foam thickness in this model, the sound is just too quiet to make the expense worth while. All of this is just my opinion of course.
Hey Ed, great idea! Just my 2c but I am assuming this is in a garage or outside? Also, I am sure you already did this but make sure to remove the seal on those ammo cans or pop a hole in the top or side so it can vent.
