His energy efficiency was out of this world. Almost looks like he only speeds down after hitting the sand, whereas most modern jumpers lose all the momentum by the time they reach the third jump.
What an injustice. Not one but ALL three of them ran like a steam train in top gear. Poor Sonia O Sullivan hadn't a chance. NONE of the clean honest athletes had a hope. Sonia O Sullivan should be awarded that gold medal because she was robbed by these three Chinese cheats. Why didn't anybody get suspicious when they saw these three in tandem blow away the field with 60 second laps in a 3000m race. Alarm bells should have been ringing, surely be to God !!!
Sonia O Sullivan was the real winner of this race. Those 3 Chinese athletes threw in 60 second laps, and ran as if they were running a 400 or 800 metre race. We never heard about them again. Enough said !

For me JE at his best is beauty in movement. His speed and technical efficiency allows this beauty to b express. Freedom is another word for this outstanding athleticism.

This looks so unbelievable to watch this was only 2.4ms wind they could have 10ms wind no one will touch this. I never saw this jump until now. I just remember that film white men cant jump was made around this time lol. Insane.
This reminds me of the early 80's when German women dominated several of the events in track. Marita Koch who was on so much juice she looked like a man. Her record of 47.60 in the 400 metres, from 1985, still stands. And is considered to be one of the dirtiest records in track history.
I also love Basketball and whenever another basketball fan says to me that Michael Jordan used to somehow hang in the air I used to tell them to look up Jonathan Edwards triple jump world record. THAT'S hanging in the air
