Your home for studio quality demos of Reverend Guitars, Orange Amps, Boutique Effects Pedals and more, coming at you from our home in Birmingham, Alabama.
Nice demo (and playing). Seems like a very versatile guitar with it's 'own' unique sound. This is what I admire most about it. Is this Reverend Buckshot loud enough? When I ask if it is loud enough I mean is it plenty loud and punchy .. and not lower volumed sounding. In other words does it give that electric thrill enough with the pickups etc? Curious?
'Ain't Talking 'Bout Love' sounds wrong if you use any other sound but the guitar's BRIDGE pickup. It amazes me how many RU-vid reviewers use the wrong pickup settings for well known riffs. The latest I've heard is AC/DC's 'Hell's Bells' opening riff played on the NECK pickup. C'mon people.
I know this is an old demo but I wanted to say that the clean sound of a guitar is key. That tells you how the design and materials all come together. It's the baseline tone of the instrument. Here, you chose amps and settings that were, at minimum, gritty and then driven. I'm OK with that but I still don't know what this guitar itself sounds like after quite an investment of time. You had a Fender style amp but left it on the drive side instead of flipping a switch. We got the drive /gain thing from the Orange, didnt need more. All in all, there was no sparkle or clarity or pure tone demonstrated. Beautiful guitar and Reverend is good quality but let the Kingbolt speak!
Bought a 20RT a couple of weeks ago.. Installed a Cab Out jack on the back and it is a very handy unit now.. The cleans are very nice.. The combo itself is so light and manageable sized and now I can plug it into most any cab .. It's a keeper for sure.. The reverb is good enough for the job. About the only con I can think of is it would be nice to have an effects loop, but I can manage that as this is just a minimalistic set up , The tuner is a waste of time which is irrelevant imo.. For what it's designed for I'd say it is a darn good unit. I've played for decades but this would be great for most beginners as you can get decent tones out of it right out of the box.. You can set the cleans and Dirt settings separate and can add a foot switch to go between them if you need it. Give a young beginner a Katana and they will become a modeler tweeker , instead of a guitar player.. lol This little rig is like plug and play...
20 years ago Gibson released the Goldtone GA-30RVS. A 2x12 stereo amp. They were killer amps! The whole Goldtone line was phenomenal! I am very interested in one of these Orange amps now.
I would classify it as more on the slim / medium side. Definitely wouldn't call it a thick neck. The Regent line is aimed more at entry level musicians so the neck is average / slim to accommodate for many different hand sizes.
@@MasonMusicRocks I own a Martin Custom MMV and it has a modified low oval neck profile, so with my smaller hands, I've found the most comfortable. Would you say then it's more that type of profile? Thanks.
I own this acoustic it is a writer’s guitar it not to bright I plan on using it for rhythm tracks and coupled with my Maton 808TE which is a brighter sound for licks . I found my Alvarez during Covid used at a killer price I guess that’s the only thing that was good about Covid in my opinion
The distortion sounds like a huge fart. & its about time they start making valve amplifiers more light. And by the time u change the speakers & valves u mose well buy a real amp
I have an Orange AD30TC Combo, love it! Have had it for about 15 years now. Question for Wil, does your SG have problems with tuning stability? Did you do anything to your SG to remedy the issues with the Maestro Vibrola? (Other than just not touching it!)
I bought a baton rouge wide neck acoustic guitar a few weeks ago and it cost more than the tagima. Tuning pegs are terrible and the tuner is not accurate. It's a nice playing guitar and the build quality is good but their choice of componets to save money is poor. Amazing how tagima is so cheap and everything about it is solid. Tuning pegs turn smoothly. Neck is easy to slide your hand down and the frets don't cut your hands.
I just bought one a little over a month ago. Same color. Playable out of the box. It would be a good value even if it was 400. I had a fender telecaster I changed the pickups and smoothed out the frets and it cost 400. And the tagima is a better guitar.
Seemed like the FB received the more attention, but any good fuzz circuit designer will tell you that every added knob is taking away as much as it adds. The YM belatedly caught my attention, occupying a lower gain/square wave territory that I spend a lot of time in.
@@Doowopsid They look very similar. The Marshall has a few additional build in effects it looks like. Other than that they will be similar in feature set. They'll just sound different as Marshalls and Oranges have different signature sounds.
The amp is nothing special. Just a cheap amp that looks interesting. I have recorded it against a Vox Pathfinder 15R and it sounds exactly the same except the P15R has nicer lows. The amp sounds nothing like the original Supros. It is voiced like fender amps.
It's actually not uncommon depending on how the electronics and battery compartment are designed. Many electronics are mounted in the sound hole so they don't have a cutout in the body for access. So the battery is in a pouch on the inside and you have to loosen the strings in order to get your hand in the hole to get to it. My personal acoustic is actual just like that.
@@williampierce5579 Theoretically yes. Leaving the body intact should improve body resonance but it may be somewhat minimal. But it is one of many considerations made by guitar companies when considering how they want to implement their electronics systems. Pros and cons to both options just like anything in life so neither is necessarily better or worse. Just depends what's important to you.
Just bought Alvarez 12 string jumbo in red. Need some small adjustment work, that I will do soon. Totally agree with you, that voice of this guitar amazing. I tell more: Its same voice, like a Martin or Gibson. Love it. Thank you, Sir for introducing of this piece of art. It helped me do final decision and today I have my baby home-:Alvarez PJ-85SC/12DVS. Subscribed.
