In this video our resident keyboard expert, Chadwick McDowell, takes the Casiotone CT-S1 for a spin. Whether you're a beginner looking for something affordable to learn on, or a pro looking to add something new to your 'key'chain (that was a stretch), this board is worth a look.

Great demonstration, thank you. Which one do you think has more beautiful sounds, this one or the Yamaha NP15?

Unfortunately I don't have any firsthand experience with the Yamaha NP15 since we're not a dealer for them. Sorry!

Hi. Can CT-S1 play violin and flute tone? If yes can you play some demo?

With the midi adapter, if hook up tablet or phone will it take the place of a built in display as on the ct x700? Will it show staff and notes being played?

It would depend on what software you are running on your tablet or phone. Your phone won't automatically act as a display for the piano just because you plug it in. Midi is just a communication protocol between devices. If you are running an app or software that displays staff and notes being played from a midi device then yes this is possible. But it's more involved than simply plugging a device in.

did you use external speaker ? how is it differ with internal one?

I believe for recording this video we took the signal out of the phones / output jack on the back of the keyboard directly into our recording software. So what you're hearing are the sounds of the keyboard direct out and not the sound of the built in speakers (which are also great and plenty loud enough for at home practice). If you did need it louder then you could run the output jack into an external speaker or amp though!

No one: how clumsy can someone explain the different sounds of a keyboard? Mason Music: yes
