Temporal resolution is also affected by the actual resolution. 4k 24fps tends to look much smoother than 1080p 24fps. It's why you can pan faster with higher resolutions. THAT'S what ACTUAL temporal resolution is. The combination of resolution and frame rate.
No compression? I watched this video SPECIFICALLY for tips on compression settings for radio ad production... and no compression at all? The reason you have to lower the music so much is because there are parts of the voiceover where it is too low... compressing the vocal would fix that. Also, to make room in the music for the voice-over, or can notch out 1-4k hz in the music 3-5db so you can keep the volume of the music up without it covering up the voice.
Wow, thank you very much for this tutorial! It's perfect that you also explained why you added specific things and how you can navigate properly on the timeline. I've got a question though. What do you think about using a compressor? I was sure you'd add one after the EQ but you didn't use one at all. Don't get me wrong, the result sounded great anyway but is there a specific reason why you left it out? Is it even necessary adding one for commercials?

Thank you so much! So glad I found this video. I’ve been working as a Broadcast I.T. Technician for about 3 years, with mainly an I.T. background only (no TV prior). This helped answer a lot of little questions I never really considered to ask… although I was quite proud that I already knew WX = weather. ;-)
See I’m at a similar cross roads, I’m in IT but I find television, especially the behind the scenes, fascinating and IT isn’t what I want to do exactly anymore. I wasn’t sure if there was too much cross over… this comment makes me think I’m going in the right direction. IT in TV seems interesting to me. Thanks.
I'm looking to make a career switch into tv. I want to be an on-air personality. I don't know too much about the technical part of the job which I why I'm watching this but I have an infectious, charismatic personality, with great interpersonal skills and a great sense of humor which I think works to my advantage.
