In this video, Dr. Dave Harris shows you how to take a still image that has cut layers from Photoshop and animate the image using Adobe After Effects. This process is useful for adding interest to otherwise uninteresting still images. Rather than being a simple Ken Burns Effect, images take on a new life.
In part 1, Dr. Dave shows how to use Adobe Photoshop to add layers and layer masks to the image in order to separate visually appealing elements of the image in preparation for animating in Adobe After Effects. In part 2, Dr. Dave uses After Effects to animate the image, adding visual interest, which allows the image to remain on-screen for longer periods of time without becoming boring. Part 3 shows how to use a particle generator within After Effects to create exhaust smoke.
Together, all three parts show how to add professional animated images to your video productions.
