I love cycling, and I love getting pro cycling kit for less. If it’s cheap, from China, and made of carbon fiber, I’m interested!
Road cycling can be an expensive hobby, and the barrier to entry for good quality cycling gear can be exceptionally high. My whole ethos is to get pro-level cycling gear on the cheap, and show that you dont have to have to spend extortionate amounts to get some fantastic kit!
PLEASE NOTE: I currently run this channel entirely by myself. Any and all correspondence will come from tracevelouk@gmail.com.
With such cassette, you always trade the low weight for the fact that it is harder to adjust and significantly louder. This is because it is a single block or semi. Chain noises are directly transmitted through the freewheel of the wheel to the axle and frame. Even SRAM had to realize this and added rubber spacers between the sprockets on the Force cassette. Maybe you can add such at this too?

I just spent a rainy afternoon watching your channel. You're doing a great service to the lazy masses of cyclists who can't (or won't) take the time to "jump down the rabbit hole" to see where it leads. Thank you. I am nervous, however, about how neat everything is in your work area but I'll get over it.
The lamp is okayish, the app is as everything this days overprovisioned and a privacy rapist [don't install it: requires access to my dick pix, access to all storage with read and tamper capabilities, absolute GPS control, WiFi monitoring so they know where you go and where do you stay and also bluetooth... among other goodies] but that 07:17 piece of crap GoPro connection is the weakest planned obsolescence link. If you are lucky enough not to lose the lamp body when it breaks and you recover it scuffed I made a 3d printed, no support, PETG correctly oriented substitute that is stronger and more vibration dampening than the original. You can pay for my coffee in exchange [I don't drink coffee]. If your lamp cracked open or skewed because a car ran over it, then please keep it for a few days, send me pics/video because I want to replace the horrible and short Torx wooden screw they used and replace it with a M2.5 or M3 Allen bolt but I need to have some piece of mind that I won't pierce the battery and got myself a Tesla desktop torch. Coming up, maybe I'll replace the battery and make a cap that you can service. Keep fighting back planned obsolescence and extend the life out of this "cheap" stuff until it begs for euthanasia.
I live in Mallorca and love cycling but the amount of litter and lack of concern for residents and road safety by "cycling tourists" is outrageous, me and a friend picked up over 2kg of plastic waste left in the mountains after the 312 :(...sometimes I wonder if its better just to have more Magaluf hooligan tourism, at least they stay in one place and don't disturb the locals as much or destroy the wild life...
Hey Luke, I took a look at this frame after watching this. One concern I have about a bunch of these frames, including the OG-EVKIN one you have here is they all come with a split ring for the cables that provides very little support for the steerer tube. Can you do a dive into how much we should trust these split rings that all ship with these internally routed Chinese frames? The background is that I did a gravel build (GT-30 frame) a little over a year ago, and had trouble with the headset loosening on every ride. At the same time I looked into the Specialized SL7 recall issues, and basically the design on all these frames is markedly WORSE. I purchased an SL7 recall kit (or at lease a good knockoff), which provides both internal support with an extra long expansion plug, and a full diameter support of the steerer using a much better 2 piece split ring that provides much more support on the front of the steerer tube during breaking. Am I overthinking this?
God gave Man iron, but Man, as always, was unsatisfied. "Nah, it's too heavy and it rusts!" Man said. God gave Man aluminum, but man, as always, was unsatisfied. "Meh... it's too soft and fragile!" Man said. God gave Man copper, but Man, as always, was unsatisfied. "But... but, it's not gold!" Man cried. God gave Man tin, but Man, as always, was unsatisfied. "What's this for?" Man said with a tone. God gave Man titanium, but Man, as always, was unsatisfied. "It takes too much work!" Man said. And when God gave Man carbon, instead of leaving it where he found it as his maker had intended, Man said, "Finally! Something I could build things with! Oh, God, why didn't you give me this earlier?"
"Alcohol or Acetone" should not be the question. Acetone evaporates rather quickly, so that the remains of the dirt stay, but it dissolves most residues much better than alcohol. So what you should do is first use acetone to dissolve all the dirt and ahesions, then, as it's still humid, use alcohol to clean up.
This video is amazing! But the bonus clip blew my mind. What a boss move by OG-EVKIN! Congratulations Luke! You should build up the fixed frame and gift it to your brother. Or make it a giveaway? I'll take it 😂. 🥖🥖🥖
Props for the first part where the diagnosing happens. It can be so frustrating to hear weird noises while on the bike and not being able to pinpoint where the problem is!
