It’s Ya Boy, DrewSpacely! My only passion besides gaming is making these videos…
I love a wide variety of video games with a deep admiration for the classics! I make Rankings, Cover Gaming News, and Reviews; only after I’ve put a substantial amount of time into the game… My most beloved games are Soulslikes, Survival Horror, and PlayStation Exclusives! Working hard to bring the best content I can create! Thank you for any support! Like, comment, and subscribe if you think I deserve it!
I’d say Vicar Amelia’s transformation is for sure her first and only time. I believe there is no reference to any sort of nightly beast transformation anywhere in the game.
Bro its a good quality video, I thought it wouldve had wayy more views. For one guy he didnt miss too much lore wise, but those jokes left me feeling violated. Idk if its the timing or the jokes themselves. smt made me wanna take a shower after hearing them
True, great video! I think in time he'll figure out how to add his humor and make it flow more. They were a little strange but he will learn! God bless anyone seeing this:)
Good list but this is perhpas the only list in which Laurence deserves Top 3. He is Bloodborne, Him and Willem are responsible for everything that has ever transpired. The Fishing Hamlet, Old Yharnam, Cainhurst, Tomb Prospecting. And all of this is what makes the final showdown against him even more impactful. Laurence, Ludwig and Moon Presence should be Top 3 imo.
grown ass man crying about optional microtransactions which don't even go over $10 like most games. also they're pretty useless since you can get everything in game.
7.5/10 is still a good game… for the record I like dragons dogma 2. I’m mainly a souls and survival horror fan. I go way back with capcom and if we’re being honest with ourselves this game had horrible performance and questing at launch. You couldn’t even have a new game file until weeks later. And then all the predatory micro transactions… I was being fair. If I gave it a 10/10 people would’ve called me a shill Lmfao but go off.
Nah disappointing cause is a side grade at most compared to base DD1, aside from graphics and the world size which means nothing when most you get from exploring is Gold and materials.
Forsure! Always check it out for yourself! My main recommendation was to just wait for a sale, the games pretty good overall but it’s not for everybody stylistically.
Them making fast travel so inconvenient really doesn't fit with how unfulfilling it is to explore caves (there's barely anything in the game that qualifies as a dungeon). So you go out and loot a cave, but instead of getting a cool new piece of gear you just get money and maybe some ore or other materials. Oh well, just keep exploring right? Wrong! You gotta trek back to town to offload your junk. You could toss it but it's good to sell for money or keep for upgrading. They should've made it so you can deposit items at rift stones. It would work well with how they're all over the place.
you could dismiss pawns and have them carry all the stuff you want stored, sadly this way you lose any extra stuff that you already reached 99+, I completely agree with how unrewarding exploring feels compared to DD1
@@DrewSpacely you're welcome, but I only watched like 20 percent. Then it was an easy "don't recommend this channel". Good luck in your future endeavour, maybe one day you'll build some charisma
Playing a game and writing, editing, and recording a review all by your self with a full time job will do that… the games only been out for a month, it’s still new.
The lore itself isn't deep at all, but it's consistent enough to build something decent on it. It doesn't have to be a masterpiece of the Witcher 3 level, just decent... The main quests feel like uninspired fillers that you wish you could skip but can't. Nothing is relatable, nothing to connect to, you just need to go through some weird, uninteresting motions in order to progress in game. And that's not the only flop in this game, but probably the most painful for me.../ along with that stupid "save" madness.
@@jasonkelly2072 most people in 2024 care about FPS. That’s why we even have ps5’s man, THAT WAS the selling point besides faster loading after all… 🤣🤦🏻♂️
A game that sets you off to deliver a vase without breaking it but gets you viciously attacked 2 ogres a minotaur in one fight, followed by a dullahan, then getting attacked by a griffin while a dragon unironically decides he wants a turn. SURVIVING ALL OF IT only for it to get fanged by a dog amidst a golem encounter on the final stretch, tis the story of an arisen.
Low IQ moves. You can teleport the intended recipient to the vase rather than carrying the vase to him. Don't blame the game for your lack of critical thinking.
As someone who is a really big fan of the first game. I was kind of disappointed with dragon dogma 2. The beginning alone doesn't even hold up to the first game. Literally the first 2-3mins you are thrown into combat and were given pawns. Then fight your way through goblins, hobgoblins, and harpy's. And to finish it off you have to fight and KILL a chimera. Freaking awesome. Dragon dogma 2 you have to walk around pick up bolder then put down bolder then fight a medusa that just runs away after. First impression is super important and dd2 did not nailed it like dd1. Also little features like being able to organize your equipment from most armor to least or highest magic def to lowest is gone. Being able to equip different layers of clothing like a undergarment then armor on top is gone. And how the story doesn't feel that intriguing as you said and the side quest some times feel incomplete like with Daphne's side quest where it turns out she is the twin of a noble who was abandoned as a baby. And in the end she just stays in the slums and the maid that you help gets kicked out. Also some skills from the first game isn't here anymore like holy magic buff and a warrior skill that gave you in the first game. I hate it when developers remove features from the game and not replace it with anything or make it better. I still really love the game though and the combat still is as fun compared to the first game.
I'm new to Dragon's Dogma, having only learned of its existence a few years ago, I really liked the first game despite it being dated, incomplete and not on the same level as more recent top-tier aRPGs, and upon learning about a sequel coming out, I was so excited, especially considering Capcom's recent excellent streak of releasing top tier games, I was hoping they'd take DD to the same level as MHW, the RE games and remakes, DMC5.... Yeah, that didn't happen.
Not close at all it’s annoying . They should’ve let co op I could care less about this pawn stuff and it seems like a small game and making fast travel harder to access makes it look a little bigger . They better be dropping free content updates to make this game better or I’m going to end up trading it in. It’s not good just the graphics and riding off the high from software Elden ring etc
Dissapointed? Not even close, 125 hours in, not even 1 min of boredom, has alot of room for improvement, true, but a very fun game to play. Would buy 10 expansions if they make them as good.
Because in your mind HALF the playerbase that’s complaining about the trash weight requirements couldn’t figure out to open their inventory EVERY 15 MINS and put it on our pawns…. 🤣🤦🏻♂️ Trust me, we did that and it was still trash. The games designed for you to stay out in the wild as long as possible and the horrible weight requirement system in this game is quite literally working against the core gameplay loop. But go off. 🤣
Nobody's disappointed, except for non-Dragon's Dogma fans. People who spent hundreds of hours in the first game got exactly what they were looking for.
Nah there are plenty of fans like me who played the original but were still disappointed with DD2. I still like it, but I don't LOVE it like the original.
They don't understand Dark Arisen was not the first game but a DLC we haven’t got yet. The first part is the DCP grind for vocations and the second part for XP to level up prepairing for "Dark Arisen 2". It just makes no sense to just fast travel through the story.
DD2 is nice. But only considerable to be a GOTY material if you are an absolute fanboy. The story is nice, but pretty terribly told. The way the narrative is given to the player is horrible. Worst than dark souls honestly. Also, the combat is awesome, but the lack of enemy variety paired with the TERRIBLE pacing of encounters makes the game feel SO boring when you have to walk around the open world.
You’re not wrong! And At least in a new dark souls game you would encounter majority new bosses and enemies while exploring making figuring out that narrative more fun. Like for instance, Zelda games reuse the same enemies everytime but they at least change the art direction for each game, besides ToTK. DD2 was like cookie cutter similar imo.
Calling it worse than Dark Souls already calls your entire comment into question. Dark Souls doesn't even attempt to tell a narrative and that's entirely intentional with the way it tries to tell its story.
@@BigSmurf-lj3mw That's exactly the point my dear friend. Dark souls doesn't even try to tell you the story, and yet does it better than dragons dogma 2. It's insane.
The combat isnt awesome, it still lacks lock-on, no co-op, game is baby easy, same enemies (mostly) as the first game, they messed up some classes, in short it's nowhere near Nioh, Monster Hunter, Sekiro or Bloodborne level (despite the massive potential..
@AesthetiG . I loved Dragon's Dogma 2 more than that last Game of the Year. Sadly Capcom does not seem to have as much faith in it like the developers. Needed a much larger budget and more time.
It is GOTY for me just like Armored Core 6 was a year ago. A flawed 8/10 that is very fun but could've been so much more. I guess that the general consensus for us Dragon's Dogma fans is, that we were expecting Dragon's Dogma 2 to iterate and evolve from both the DD1 and the Dark Arisen formulas, but instead got Dragon's Dogma 1.5, which, although much better than DD1, it completely ignores what Dark Arisen added to the table and because of that it stumbles in many critical ways. Regarding the many Souls comparisons, I've been a Souls fan too since Demon's Souls, but it drives me crazy seeing the online discourse of "wahh Elden Ring does it better". Dragon's Dogma is its own thing and it doesn't try to be a Souls game, and if I'm being honest, it absolutely does questing, combat and grounded exploration much, much better than any Souls title. Of course our milage may vary, but it is pure brainrot seeing people blindly giving a pass and praising Souls games for some of the most tedious, cryptic and stiff quests, mechanics and combat designs ever created in videogames, yet they give crap to Dragon's Dogma because "wah performance, wah microtransactions, wah this is not a Souls game". Of course I love Fromsoft and the King's Field/Shadow Tower/Armored Core series and Souls games in general and have thousands of hours in them, but they are flawed in many core ways too. If Capcom didn't fucked up the launch with terrible performance and PR, people would be praising DD2 just like ER, but here we are. Regarding microtransactions, my issue is with the people that decided to bitch about it now but stayed silent when MH:World, Rise, RE4, SF6 and many other titles introduced them first and in more egregious ways. DD2 plays exactly like DD1 sometimes even to a fault, so is really dumb that people who never played the first one and are unfamiliar with Wakestones, Portcrystals and many other mechanics decided to whine about "greedy Capcom" when these mechanics are an exact match of those in DD1 in the way the function and play. In fact, DD1 monetization was way more egregious. Buckle up if you think that Fromsoft will remain this "consumer friendly" for much longer.
Honestly if it didn’t take dragons dogma 2 like 80 hours to give me something that truly wowed me then I would be right there with you probably. And I know the comparisons to elden ring are unfair but people are spewing them out, I’ve heard them multiple times myself, so I just thought I would touch on that just for people who are souls fans and are coming in expecting something similar and they’re shocked to realize they’re totally different games.
informative video, is lords of the fallen confusing to progress? is lies of p similar to sekiro? i did not liked sekiro and i am done with souls games, i want proper story telling and difficulty options
Lords of the fallen has multiple ways to progress and can get confusing at times without a walkthrough especially for quest lines but if you’re no stranger to souls games then you know what to expect. It’s as close to a souls game as it comes besides the performance issues. Lies of P is more linear and has combat similar to sekiro but with more freedom in weapon choice. Heavy emphasis on deflecting. Both were great games. Hope this helps!
Yeah I talk about that in my full video. Unfortunately RU-vid only allows a minute in these clips. Lol my main issue was with the bloat. Majority are easy but by the end of the game my tolerance for BS was thin, specifically past chapter 12.
So glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Actually found your video particularly because I searched the words "relationship between SOULS-LIKES and SURVIVAL HORROR". I genuinely think a hybrid genre can potentially stem from both with the right developers at the helm. Both of these genres, when done right, bring out a very similar feeling of anxiety in my heart and soul. And let's not forget that the two genres thrive on proper atmosphere and sound design.
I think people are reading too much into the “separate timelines” idea: The “remake timeline” isn’t an alternate universe; it’s just designed to be a more cohesive version of the overarching storyline that’s more newcomer-friendly. Basically, you’re supposed to be able to get the main story beats of the franchise regardless of whether you play the originals, remakes or a mix of the two. Also, setting Code Veronica AFTER RE4 wouldn’t make much sense, since the entire plot kinda requires Umbrella to still be active and operational.
I think that Naughty Dog made a Solid Decision to Redeem themselves to their Fanbase with this 'Remaster' & if It's going to look as good on PC, as It does on the PS/5 then I'm will to pay Full Price for It just for the 'No Return' Mode alone!
The reason why a lot of people can't tell the difference of the PS4 version and the PS5 version and saying that it don't look no difference is because they got their PlayStation 5 hooked up to a $200 flat screen television you need to have a high-quality television and have the proper settings and 120 HZ to get the display that you are looking for.
I have a 65 inch top of the line Samsung but after I’ve spent more time in the story again the game is far more enhanced then I initially gave it credit.
I was listening to the Director Commentary and thought it was interesting they included Neil saying he regretted the manipulative advertising. Somehow he didn’t see it being a problem. I’m glad he at least recognized something that upset a lot of people. Hiding Abby entirely was very suspicious and it signaled a red flag that they were afraid of how this character would be perceived. It also led people to thinking this story would be much different than what we actually got.
The story needs to be edited all over again. God of war did much better in telling the consequences of a revenge story and with a free dlc to wrap everything up.
Yeah this honestly should’ve been free DLC considering it’s reused assets with no additional story content. God of war did a much better job all around.
While the ending was a bit rushed, and the pacing can be up and down, God of War is definitely a much more satisfying continuation of the first game. Naughty Dog wanted to tell a depressing story but failed to tell one that had any sense of logic.
@@chandler_martian agreed the battle at Asgard should’ve had more weight and definitely pacing throughout needed more work, but it definitely told the story better. God of war definitely wins by a mile though with free dlc that wrapped up everything nicely from Greek to Norse.
I’ve never played this game. Although I did buy it from a yard sale once I never got around to playing it. Just ended up reselling it on eBay. If I may, I suggest asking us to subscribe towards the end of the video. Your content should speak for itself and you will get subs because we like your content not because you asked. Just some input it helps viewers get straight to point of your video
The gender idenity argument I've seen from people is beyobd dumb, they actually think Alfred is having a gender identity crisis. It's literally only because Alfred misses his sister so much with her being in stasis so he just acts like her. People are desperate to reach to defend these silly people.
