Not sure what the situation is like for New Zealand, in South Africa Chery has setup quiet and extensive distribution and servicing network. If that is anything to go by and with the contact we have had with Chery International, I think they would have a similar setup. Thanks for watching
Thank you for your comment and watching the video, the gvw (gross vehicle weight) is 1480kg with the kerb weight at 1010kg. The figure I quoted is with it being loaded with 4 passengers, a full tank of fuel and luggage, but as you correctly mentioned, I should have said its kerb weight is 1010kg. Usually, when figures are quoted for efficiency and power to weight ratio is quoted they are using the kerb weight, but we know in real life there are people and fuel in the car, which means added weight. Hence me using the Gross Vehicle Weight figure in my statement and why the fuel economy is usually not the same as the claimed figures etc. I hope that answers your comment.
In reality it is the main thing they addressed, particularly rear suspensions got changed to make it less floaty and more composed on bumpy roads and the automatic gear logic now makes sense. Still it is a stiffer drive compared to competitors (seems similar to previous versions of BMW X3 without adaptive suspensions in my opinion) but i think that this is mostly by design so you won’t get Lexus plushness from the CX60 if that is what you are searching for. A current model BMW X3 is for sure a more engaging and well rounded car, no doubts, but there is a case to be made that you will pay much more with the same equipment. It was a shame for Mazda that they clearly released an unfinished product at the beginning and they corrected its flaws only afterward but I fear that, like in software, this is the direction manufacturers are going… release a beta product, make the customers pay for it and then update it later (possibly over the air).
@@KR-xn8xr HI, this is a lot more refined its more SUV like then the Raptor Off-Road setup. Including the extra sound insulation and the seats make it a very good experience
"Lacks the performance you expected ". I don't think anybody expects a Mazda to be quick. They're all slow. 😂 Love this inline 6 and I'd go for it because Lexus has gotten expensive.
@@LehloSeemelathey’re still available on the second hand market though. 😊😊😊 but sadly no “performance cars” at present, who knows what’s next for them. I did see some interesting concepts at the Shanghai Motorshow earlier this year.
A lot of people tend to underestimate Mazda's in general, because they so used to other brands so much, but I always advise them to not turn a blind eye on these Mazda's, because they're so GOOD, I personally would buy this, this looks pretty neat 🔥
Great review. Another point to note is, although this is a base model, it even comes with 6 airbags. I've not seen any base spec model in any car brand come with this amount of airbags. Definitely a great family car which wont break the bank! Doesn't make much sense to get the GLX model as the necessities are included in the GL spec.

It's worth noting that the actual price is around ZAR340k, but to "protect the local auto industry" (which doesn't exist insofar as EVs are concerned) the consumer must pay double.
Love this car. Reached out to Volvo for a test drive but the salesman went quiet on me 😂. I'll contact another dealership. I don't care about the Chinese connection because I drive a Chery Tiggo which is a lekker car. My only hate in this car is the lack of physical buttons and that massive glass roof. Could be a very unpleasant place to be during summer unless that aircon is very effecient at cooling the car. Excellent review sir. I subscribed.

thanks for the comment, sadly we don't have access to any Tesla products in South Africa yet, but from many of my peers they seem to be very popular. I hope you get the EX30, it really is a fun little car, even though its not so little.

Hi Martin, thank you for the comment, I'm so glad you're enjoying this car, it was a pleasure to drive. Yes I did, it was super fun, however I mostly drove it in "comfort mode", as I wanted to experience it as a daily driver & it was really good. Really need to win the lotto now.
They should have kept the option for the 2.0l burturbo (not saying they should eliminate the V6). I get you want "sporty" feel but that fuel economy is just too hectic. I'm sure that fuel economy pushed more people to the Wildtrak X which is a pity
Thanks for watching and commenting, the Tremor is not a bad option at all. Still makes use of the bi-turbo engine, with a more 4x4 focused suspension, so a baby raptor maybe?
