The es is the best sound engine of all the motif models. I’ve owned and compared them all through in ear monitors, studio monitors, and live. The moxf is close enough especially when you factor in weight ect.

I dont know if you speak spanish so i ask in english: How do i crank up the kit’s volume? When i play it with my electronic drum it sounds with low volume. Thank you!
Hello @NachoRF, si, hablemos español, cuando dice crank up the volume, es porque te suena muy bajo de volumen comparado a otras marcas de drumVsts? quiero entender un poco mas porque veo las siguientes posibilidades: 1 - Podría ser que se disparan los sonidos con poca dinámica por el controlador/teclado o batería electrónica que se estuviera usando. 2 - Que el canal de Audio que representa el plugin tenga mas bajo volumen que otros. 3 - A mi este plugin en especifico aunque me gusta mucho, veo que para los toms no grabaron los golpes muy muy fuertes Escríbeme por favor y con gusto buscaremos una respuesta.
Si, para subir el volumen en mi batería electrónica. Si puedo subir el volumen desde el plugin en vez de subir el volumen desde el módulo. La verdad es que suena muy pero muy bien. Los mejores toms de ML Drums para mi los tiene la expansión Grit. Suenan brutal
It’s a useless comparison to compare exactly the same sounds. Because the sound engines and their applied effects are exactly the same i.e. XF is an improved model of ES. the differences are between their features like realtime controlling knobs, capacity of their memories (and of course the number of sounds especially natural sounds), filters, effects and the most important parts are the sampling system, firewire utility and ability to save the loaded sounds after any restart mode.
@@raulynancymusica Tuve un ES Rack, y después un modx7, un montage, tuve x una temporada un moxf, y hasta un mm6. Honestamente, a pesar del tiempo transcurrido, siempre tengo la sensación de que el ES tiene una calidad de sonido muy superior.
Mo ( x6 and xf6) are a little bit cheap sounds to Motif Family. And it also depends on 61 and 88. And also depends on Player. The best Theory = The more you pay the more u get high end sounds.😂
@@miraclestudio9167 y otro tema es que los sonidos están programados para usarse con el 88 teclas, así que es con esos modelos con los que se obtiene el mejor sonido. Comprobado hasta con un montage
I just want to add that a old guy with a weak lower back (like me im 65 yrs old) GRATEFULLY prefers the much lighter weighted MOXF irregardless of the much heavier ES having slightly enhanced sounds. There isnt really all that much of a noticeable difference. Also i personally adjust my approach on how heavy or light i strike the keys from one keyboard to another It does usually matter. Price matters for some too....Lol.
Hola, trabajo en el ensenario con este teclado, me sta pasando a menudo, imagina live que pesadilla! Ademas el problema mas grande de este teclado, es que cada vez cambio de sonido, entre un sonido y el otro se mutéa por medio segundo dejando el cantante sin musica mientras que canta..... insoportable!
Hola, la forma de cambiar de sonidos sin que se hagan mute entre un sonido y otro es preparar los sonidos en modo SONG o PATTERN, busca un video sobre eso en youtube, te aseguro que alli no pasará eso. Con respecto a lo de la velocidad de las teclas que no responden como se deban, eh encontrado 3 situaciones asi: 1 - La corriente eléctrica puede no ser suficiente (podria ser el transformador) 2 - Lo que me pasó a mi, eran esas gomas debajo de las teclas que me arreglaron en la tienda/taller. 3 - Cuando hay bastante humedad en el ambiente, he leido comentarios de usuarios reportando lo mismo y a mi me sucedió tambien cuando fuí a tocar a un area cercana al mar (a unas 10 millas) el aire era caliente y húmedo. Espero esta guía te sirva, pero bien podrías llevar el teclado a servicio y mantenimiento. Saludos!

Thank you for this comparison video, Raul y Nancy Musica. It demonstrates beautifully the similarities and differences between the XF and ES. Liked and subscribed. Also, I always thought that the ES sounded warmer and fatter than the later versions of the Motif, and this and your other 2 videos seems to support my perceptions.
I have kept my Motif ES6 around after I bought it new in 2004, and although I usually don't play it anymore since I play a Korg Kronos in my band, I recently brought it in from the garage and was pleasantly surprised at how good it still sounds! 🤜🤛 Liked and subscribed.
I'm glad I bought the ES6, XS6 and MO6. I collect these incase someone needs them for gigs and recording. Very happy with my collection so far. Now looking for Hammond B3 with Leslie combination.

Si yo tuviera la oportunidad de tener un Motif XF y un Motif ES, me quedaría con los dos; si tuviese que quedarme solo con uno me quedaría con el XF, la razón es que tiene mas sonidos y me son mas útiles para cuando hago arreglos y pistas. Tiene mas variaciónes entre los pianos acústicos y también los electricos. Los dos MOTIF tienen mas peso o mas punch que un MOXF o las otras líneas de YAMAHA mas baratas. Pero si me quedase solo con el XF extrañaría sonidos como el CP80&EP que no está entre el listado de sonidos del XF. La tibieza o sonído cálido del ES es una cosa escepcional.
Hi, I'm not sure if your comment is rhetoric to what a viewer said about fixing the velocity which of course won't allow to play any dynamics or may be you were expecting some steps in the video that fixed the issue. In case it was the second statement, maybe I need to clarify that I posted the video when I didn't know what the issue was and I was expecting a response from anyone who had a similar experience. It got fixed by the store that represented Yamaha.
I have both the Motif ES7 and the MOXF6. I definitely prefer to trigger the MOXF pianos and other dynamic sounds through MIDI from the Motif. The key action of the ES is so good, so classic. The MOXF6 action, while slightly improved from the earlier MOX6, is still hard to play evenly and with nuance. On the other hand, I like the cleaner sound of the MOXF samples, enjoy the extra insertion FX and Voice elements (including key off sounds), and often will use it for sounds that don't require so much dynamic playing. I do think that overall the sound of the MOXF is thinner than the ES, but I tweak my patches extensively, and usually apply appropriate EQ to each Voice Element to balance the bass/treble tonality of my go-to voices (piano, Rhodes, bass, strings, organ, synth brass). You'd be amazed at how much difference that makes. Also, to widen the stereo field of stereo samples (mostly the pianos and strings) I use the Panning Key Follow setting to position notes across the l?R outputs as you move up and down the keyboard. Finally, if you aren't sure you'll be running in stereo on a gig, you can set up monaural versions of the piano patches that may not sound as wide as in the studio or on headphones, but will not suffer the dreaded phase cancellation of summing stereo samples to a mono speaker. I was using stereo in-ear monitors for my keys on gigs, and did not realize how awful the piano sounded coming back to the rest of the band on single channel monitors. It sounded like a harpsichord. Now, I rarely use stereo piano sample patches on gigs and both the Motif and the MOXF still sound great.
