Thank you so much for showing all your Disney medals, they are pretty cool. I'm takin ideas, this will be my 3rd W&D half marathon and first challenge. I will be putting all my medals on display in my family room, i just don't know how. lol Soon to accomplish. Will show when i do. lol. Looking forward to seeing you all. Hope everyone in Florida is safe. See y'all real soon!
Right now my medal is sitting in a drawer next to my desk. I want to get a shadow box for it but I am not sure what size to get. I think I’ll figure that out after January half marathon weekend as I’d like to make a shadow box with both.
Thank you for publicly acknowledging the tragedy of the runner who passed away. Seems to me that since the event any mention of him has been scrubbed from discussions about the event. Also, in all the vlogs I’ve watched- I understand that people are relating their own personal experience- it seems odd that the death is never even mentioned. Without blaming ANYONE, his death was a tragedy and I believe he should be acknowledged and remembered. So very sad.
@@barbns2 it is a difficult situation. Although Disney doesn’t like to acknowledge deaths that happen during their events, I really do think they should. It wasn’t their fault (I hope so), but it can always be used as a learning experience. Thank you.
This is a much better half-marathon course, but if you don't get to mile 12 by 09:15 then, my guess is, it's going to be a hard cut and sweep so they can open the park with minimal to no runners in it.
Hey there! They don't cut the course when the park opens. They actually split the walkways so both park goers and runners can go through. You will be fine as long as you stay at the 16 minute mile pace. Please reach out if you have any questions. Create a Magical Run!
@@mannyrunsdisney Looking at the start time for the last corral and a 16 min a mile pace. 09:15 puts you behind the balloon ladies at the entry to Epcot. Would they sweep you there? They have in the past.
Please keep these training videos coming. Love your videos and they have motivated me to sign up for my first Disney race. I’ll be doing wine and dine weekend with my brother this November. Really just going for the experience this year but hoping to improve for future races! Again big fan of your videos ❤
HI Manny! Next year I will run the Princess Challenge with my husband for Autism Speaks. My daughter is in the spectrum so this is near and dear to my heart. We don't have social media so it is not easy to get donations but we are still chugging alone.
I believe it is so great when you can find a charity that you have ties to. I wish you Magical luck and please reach out to me if I can help in any way. Create a Magical Run!
@@jxhide Hello there! It goes more quickly than WDW. On the Event Guide it stated that all corrals would start by 5:35 AM which means about 5 minutes in between each corrals but I believe the last corrals started about 5:40 AM. Magical luck!
1. Thank you for addressing the deceased runner with grace Many. ❤ 2. I think this course was much better than January 2024, much better hydration stations in the park & out. 3. I’m training for my marathon in January and PRd for my 1/2 marathon time & I walked after mile 10..BUT, I feel for safety they should have shortened the race. Our healthcare professionals got the heavy lift for so many down runners. The utilization of so much medical can affect future races. We love all the responders who were out there for us. ❤
The Halloween merch is pretty cool, I absolutely like that a lot! And I'm running my first marathon and RunDisney run in January 2025, maybe I'll see you there!
My first Run Disney experience!!!! I had a blast!! I have followed your you tube for a while and want to thank you for all the helpful tid bits and advice. For my age group ( 65-69) I finished with a much better time than I ever expected!!! Thanks again for all you do and look forward to doing this event again in 2025.
Thank you very much and congratulations on your accomplishments. Thank you for sharing your experience and hope to see you on the course in the future.
The sideshow circus was Sid from Toy Story. I love Oogie Boogie Bash as you get tons of candy and see lots of characters. This year it wasn't in the cards for me to go, but perhaps next year.
you are so lucky you CAN hit up the bathrooms in the park. I skip those b/c there is always a long line. BUT, the plus side... is that the pottys after the castle (in MK anyhow, not socal) are super clean cuz everyone uses the bathrooms in the park! LOL
I felt the expo was much better this time. I was surprised how early our group was called. We were group 21 and we got called at 10:03. I also felt that they had more merchandise. Plenty of medal replica pins in sight. My major complaint this weekend was definitely the lack of water stations. With the heatwave, they should’ve definitely added another station in the 5k and 10k and 2-3 on the half. Also, I heard the water stations ran out of water for the latter corrals on the half. That happened in January, I would’ve hoped it would have been addressed this go around. So let’s hope that situation is solved in February of next year.
Water stations is something they should be extra prepared for on hot days like this past weekend. I do feel they need to really work on getting great leads at each station. That would really help. I agree that it should be fixed for next years runs.
During the 10k I appreciated the various cast members making announcements for runners to be on the left, walkers on the right. I didn't appreciate how few people seemed to actually be following that rule. Especially near the end (when going under the tunnel) a lot more people were walking and nearly blocking the whole path. I had to bob and weave quite a lot and almost ran into people several times. The heat didn't bother me too much and I had lots of fun and proved to some people I could accomplish this. I love that my medal and hat glow in the dark. Got my one character photo with the hitchhiking ghosts, which I was lucky to get as they cut off the line shortly after me. And I got to see Manny at mile marker 6, which made my day. I hope they do Halloween again next year.
You are correct. CMs were screaming proper etiquette. It will take time to get people to comply. That is a great picture! Thank you and glad you created a Magical Run!
Good recap. that would be so disappointing to not get any pictures after the run because of the bib, especially since they are included. I saw the 3rd shifters on the videos which was really neat! And great picture with Pete!
Manny, thank you for making my first RunDisney experience so magical! It was incredible to train while watching your videos, then to meet you at the event! I had the time of my life and I cannot express my gratitude to you enough for all of your expertise and encouragement! I am now a proud 10K finisher because of you! And now I get to go find a new dream…. Maybe I’ll see you at the 10miler at WDW in a couple of years!
It was so great to meet and hang out with you guys. I especially loved getting on Radiator Springs with you guys. I look forward to seeing you guys at future runs.
Coach ❤I was running next to you for a few minutes in the half marathon. I lost you in DCA in cars land. You run very very finish. I was in group I and managed to finish in 2hrs and 02 minutes. Thanks for all the running tips ❤
if you were at the back half of the 5k the ran out if water which wasn’t acceptable, thank goodness i brought water and refilled in galaxy edge, because of the humidity everyone was sweating and needed the water. Otherwise the race was great.
I don’t understand how people do these races and not find out all the information needed. They just go run. Before my first race, I was trying to read everything I could. Get all the info that was available. That’s when I came across your vlogs. I learned some of the runners etiquette from you. And I passed it on to my daughter. ‘Runners to the left, walkers to the right’ was engraved in my mind! We had a fun race. Thanks for all you do. 😊
Thank you! I believe that people get too excited, which is normal. They then get overwhelmed with all the characters so they forget. It is something we just have to work on but will get better. Create a Magical Run!
My only gripe with the 5K was the water station was on the runner side so it created a bottle neck. Since it was hot and humid I felt they should have added a second a second station. But apart from that I’m looking forward to January. I never went to the expo as when my queue came up I was just too exhausted and had preordered what I really wanted. I agree the Backstage area was so dark, I was glad I had the sense to bring glow sticks to wear as a visual aide.
Hello there! DIsney usually does do a good job of learning from their mistakes. I also know they watch these videos to get some feedback so I am sure that January will be even better. Create a Magical Run!
@@mannyrunsdisney I felt bad for the runners since I was a walker staying to the right I felt like I was cutting them off trying to get water. But once I got my little cup I went back to the right. I also didn’t stop for photos as the lines were long but my race photos turned out great, so I was happy with that and now I have a good idea of what to expect going forward.
Hey Manny! I met you at the start of corrals. I was making great time but unfortunately I threw up at mile 7 and kept pushing myself to mile 11 where I got swept. I watch 1 balloon lady get carted away. I’ll be back for the Dumbo and was disappointed that I didn’t finished this one.
Great meeting you. So sorry about that. This one is one that you should not hang your head about. I still think they should have shortened the course, you will do Magical at Dumbo!
@@walkingwithmellow5955 It seemed less forgiving. My feet were killing me. It took me a few hours to be able to walk with no pain. Congratulations to you. Glad you made it also.
Manny...you shouldn't complain about being in Angels Stadium, they were kind enough to open it for us! So much better than running/walking on city streets the whole 7 miles! Be happy you got to do this, so many wanted to but couldn't get signed up in time! And we weren't running for a time, just to enjoy and be healthy. Be happy and healthy Manny!
Hello there! I actually wanted to run through there. I was told that they may cut Angels Stadium and was hoping to get there before. It was just super crowded. Create a Magical Run!
Hi Manny! Regarding running do you know what this means. 3 miles with MM? What's the difference between 3 mile run and 3 miles with MM? Thanks for your help😊
I'm the guy who yelled out your name at mile marker 6. So nice to see you after watching your videos over the past year as I prepared for the Jan and Sept 2024 races. Keep up the good work!
I was so hoping to see you today. Early in the run, I heard your voice. You said to someone, make it a magical run! I turned around and saw you. Next thing I knew you were off to my right side. I tried to say ‘Hello Manny’ but you decided to walk. I was a bit bummed. But then….later as my daughter and I were heading into to Disneyland,I saw you outside talking to Chris from Park Pass!!! I stopped and told you both I loved your vlogs! So made my day. Had a magical run starting off in corral F. Despite the early warm weather, my daughter and I had a wonderful time.
Manny, it was such a pleasure to meet you and get to experience my first RunDisney expo with you! Thank you so much for all of the wisdom, kindness and encouragement!
Thanks, Manny! Never been to Anaheim myself, but I hope to get my Coast to Coast one day, so this was helpful to at least get a little more familiar with the sites and the area. I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
That was fun to see both parties and how they are different. The lights in the trees at DCA really add a lot to the atmosphere. You should get a challenge medal for this!
