This channel is dedicated to my understanding of the old ways of Northern Europe and its pre-christian society and religion through the sagas, eddas. remaining vestigial traditions and archaeological evidence. I do not know everything but this is the way I use the the "Old Ways" and Asatru to become a better person day by day through heathenry. Oh and there may be a few poems by myself as well. I will also chronicle my wanderings throughout the ancient world as I visit Pagan sites both ancient and modern as well as museums and exhibits on the old ways. Check out our facebook communities path of the raven, and followers of the old ways my instagram nordic_journeys
Honeslty the way I think about it, Loki is he is very misunderstood and I think he should be loved and respected but never worshipped to worship Loki is the same as worshiping Satan in Christianity Loki is the exact polar opposite of Odin Loki is a god of chaos and Odin is a god of order Loki is a god of shortcuts Odin is a god of honor nobody can claim to worship Odin then worship Loki those two gods are the only gods in the entire pantheon you can’t worship together. I mean you can technically but you can’t claim to be a Aesir and it’s a bit of a contradiction and goes against what us Norse pagans stand for.
Hi, nice video. I have a 2016 Gen 1. All I am seeing is 2017 onwards heated grips, do you happen to know if these will work? They look like they would connecter wise and from what I have read online they are similar/same connectors on all different models and years. I have the connector behind the headlight and the option to turn them on in the menu, I am just not sure what ones I need to buy. It is an older bike now so perhaps not as many options to buy new as there was 3+ years ago when you made this video, there are plenty used ones for 17 onwards, just trying to confirm if they will work. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
@@rustybaws Unfortunately I don’t know if they will work. I bought ones labeled 2014-2016, I know aomc.mx had them this past winter because I bought them to use on an 1190 adventure R from 2016
@@nordicjourneys no worries. Thanks for the reply, appreciate it. I'm over on the UK but I checked that site and doesn't look like they have anything. Will keep looking, cheers. All the best!
He a anti-Odin in ever since of the term he believes in chaos Odin believes in order he believes in shortcuts Odin believes in honor and doing stuff the right way. There are so many pagans who worship both and it just doesn’t make since to me those are the only two gods you can’t worship together for as it’s a contradiction.
@@lystheshaman I don't think Loki was ever historically venerated tbh. I don't care what others do. If people have a modern twist that's their own business but Loki in my eyes is an oath breaker.
@@Luftwaffle35 100% agree but calling yourself a Norse pagan but then worshipping Loki is disrespectful to Odin cause your literally worshipping someone who is against everything Odin is against also if your a modern pagan that in itself is a contradiction. But to each there own ig but I agree he is a oath breaker and did some many horrible things he is misunderstood but that doesn’t mean he is worthy of any worship. You can still respect and love a person and not believe he is a good person worthy of worship that’s the best way I can explain my opinions about Loki. Note you deserve a sub man respect brother.
Loki is not Satan, although he is very similar to Lucifer... Lucifer and Satan are NOT the same entity, btw... Satan is the son of Lucifer... Anyways, Loki and Lucifer have a very similar modus operandi... The main difference is that Lucifer is extremely severe and will tempt you and try to undermine in order to deviate you away from God towards Satan, while Loki pokes you and makes fun of you in order for you to react and evolve so you won't be annoyed next time he will try the same pranks on you...
Demonizing Loki as a "satanic " figure is a Christian construct. Some people need to deconstruct that notion. But I know this is an older video, I was doing some research and found it. Loki to me, is a God of Change and transformation. Without Loki the Gods wouldn't have all the tools they need to make them recognizable. Also, Jordan is a jotun and she's a mother nature image. Also, Odin himself is part Giant. To disavow the jotun would also disavow part of ourselves . We're supposed to be made in "gods image" , gods like humans have good and bad in US, and the abilities to grow change and transform. Gods to me, as man has created them, is like a representation of ourselves. Both are volatile. Just like the gods so are the giants. Hope this makes sense. I just got off work
Science has contributed to our understanding of the past, through geology, carbon dating, genetics, genealogy, biology, anatomy and many other fields. Science can, in a way, allows our ancestors to "speak" to us about themselves and their culture and part of what we are today.
Im french, blond like you and we have some paganist and celtics movements here but for stupid reasons, and not just in France, the image of masculinity is more based on the archetype of the roman gladiator or the greek soldier, or even the arab guy ! When you are meditteranean, you will became a real slutty success guy... when you are dark haired, meditteranean... brown eyes etc... its Jackpot with popularity... sex erc... Also we don't have success... blond is not really sexy... unfortunately and some peoples thinks that our genetic is weak, we are like feminin guys... too much more angelic. Its pretty amusing to see lot of guys like you who try to get more testosterone on the topic of nordic peoples... im french and in northern france we have lot of nordic origins even if we where melted (not me ahah ^^ im very blond) but unfortunately... the blondiness is't sexy fir majority of peoples and nordic paganism is not very popular everywhere... its so sad, i like it so much, druidism etc... things like that is so important, connexion with nature, purity... but its not well known... 😢 yes Odin is not here anymore...
I can't believe someone stole your golden raven hammer with the sapphires! How did that even happen? Do you think you'll treat yourself to a new hammer in your own time?
The nice thing about polytheism and paganism is that our gods aren’t perfect and all-powerful, and we tend to see time as cyclical, rather than linear. Humans have always advanced and improved, even before we had an understanding of science. I’m personally amazed with how so many things in nature look like each other. In Norse mythology, Odin and his brothers created humans from tree trunks and breathed the breath of life into us. Fast forward a few thousand years and humans have discovered that trees produce oxygen- the breath of life, if you will- and depend on the CO2 we exhale to do so. Also, our fingerprints looks like tree stumps/rings, and vascular systems look like entire trees. The world probably isn’t gonna end with a bunch of gods and monsters and undead fighting and killing each other, and burning up the world, but in a few billion years, the sun is going to expand into a red giant from exhausting its current hydrogen fuel, burning Mercury, Venus, and Earth to a crisp, but scientists think other planets in our solar system, and galaxy, will be able to support life and have liquid water. Science is not only 100% compatible with paganism/polytheism, it completes it.
Thessalonians 5:16-18 "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." Consistently Pray for forgiveness, guidance in a good (positive) direction, and for help against evil. Pray to be saved from hell (whatever that may be). Pray for your friends and your family too, it only takes a minute or so/less at a time to pray. Do it and your life will slowly get better, or maybe quickly. It probably just depends on you and the kind of person you are/have been. Don't wait until its too late and you have to suffer the consequences of built up bad karma from immoral acts/unrepented sins. Maybe together we can help make the world a better place by changing ourselves for the better, and changing things around us for the better. And addressing/thanking the CREATOR, LORD GOD at the beginning and end of your prayers would be a good idea 😊 Or just be my friend if you don't want to say the prayer 😄 I'm trying to help you get right with the LORD 🙏 Amen. I have worded a short prayer for you to say if you are not sure what words to use, it may not be the best but here it is 😊 '' CREATOR, LORD GOD, Please forgive me and my friends and my family for our immoral acts, please help guide us in a positive direction and please help us against evil. Please save us from Hell and have mercy on our souls. Thank you CREATOR, LORD GOD. Amen. '' Please say this at least once a day for at least a month, do it longer if you want to and can 😊🙏 You should prostrate yourself if you don't want to do spoken prayer, or do both 🙏☺ Please worship the LORD GOD and not any idol. Say ' Om Namah Shivaya ' out loud or in your head 108 times, or try to do it 1008 times 😊 try to do it everyday if you want 🙏
You can get them from any ktm parts supplier. It depends on where in the world you are at. In usa I would recomend aomc.mx in europe I would recommend ktm versand. Other than that no idea, but those are the two companies besides my local dealer lelles in sweden that I deal with
Thank you for the Update, you were the first person to show me this spirituality back in 2017 its good to see you back and good luck with the rest of your Studies! Happy for you! Hope you're well.
It's so great to see you thriving! Thank you for the update! I personally was wondering how you've been. You started me on my own Norse Pagan Heathen journey a few years ago, so it's nice to see you again!
What are your experience with the cases with rain and moisture inside? Just got a set of side cases for my bike (MT09), and tested them with a spraydown with gardenhose and there was quite a lot of water making its way inside and getting the inside soft material wet. Curios if this will case any issues with say bad smell cause of material being wet, and if it can affect the watertight bag inside...
I was in the rain a few different days with them, the items inside get moist but most werent soaked. The waterproof bags worked like a charm but due to experiencing intermittent rain, I rarely unpacked to repack. No smells and no other issues to speak of.
No matter what people think Loki is the change in the myths. He is the one that keeps things moving within the sacred cycle. He is beyond good or evil he is simply chaos. He is the god of the outcasts and I found him in the dumps. He has helped out of the dark slump I was in. When I started working with him the change started right away.
thank you for doing this video Nordic, been stuck watching Ocean Keltoi and his leftist idea videos because he has more new ones coming out bout the term FOLK being racist and a dog whistle that leads to gatekeepers, but the guilt trip of using folk no race is attached is getting to much. Folk is not a racist term and never was and now i feel less guilty for using that word because of this video.
When my novels start selling finally, im gonna buy land in the woods nd lakes, then make parts open to the public, people will take care of it as they are free to use it, those things will be worked out. Thing is why cant my folk of Midgard not be able to enjoy some freedom in nature? I intend to share mine with the common folk, a place where poor heathens can pitch a tent for some time if need be. I want to help my people and spend it on making the world a better place for the common folk place by place. That's just me.
haa i think this video i stumbled upon is for a reason and an answer to my last question to thor. Sometimes their answers are right in front of you, or sent back to you in a way that you dont see but right there! your Answer.
@Nordic Journeys nice one! Been trying to find some info on the wiring loom and where plugs are and there's nothing... you'll save me some time when I come to fit them... thank you 👍
How are you liking the Urban ABS side cases? I'm thinking about getting them for my Gen2 but I'm a bit on the edge because of the zipper mechanism and that they're rated for only 130km/h. I'm sure they can tolerate greater speeds but what are your thoughts about them, would you still buy them today?
I would recommend them! They are the best thing out for the superduke. The only other option is to get the superduke GT in my opinion. I do wish they were a bit bigger as it was quite tight doing three weeks on the bike with a combined 61 liters between the two side cases and rear case. I can also say I have done up to 250kmph with them so it is no worry there. They are robust and certainly worth it. An added bonus is protection. I dropped my bike in a parking lot and the side case took all the scuffing! A big recommendation from me for these! And aside for getting a SD GT I would purchase again!
I know this video is a little old, but there are some things which need to be said. The wolf and bear have been sacred animals of the indigenous people of Europe long before Christianity was conceived. The wolf literally shaped many European cultures, e.g. Roman culture (Romulus and Remus). The wolf is present in ancient Greek folklore, e.g. Zeus and Lycaon, and one of the stories of Apollo. The wolf is ubiquitous in Slavic cultures, though I do not know much of Slavic folkore, so I can't really provide the names of each fable. Likewise, the wolves are practically the bedrock of Norse culture (like Romans) as we have wolf deities, wolven lore and companions, e.g. Fenrir, Skoll, Hati, Freki, Geri, Gaumr and the wolves of the Ironwoods. Let's not forget the wolf clan, Uflhednar. This is just the top of my head, but those who say we are "appropriating" wolves, can seriously find the nearest cliff and do the world a favour. I have many wolf pendants around my neck as the wolf is my Fylgja, so if anyone so much as accuses me of "appropriation", they will walk away with a bloody nose. I'm sick to death of people, who have no knowledge of European cultures, tell me I cannot respect the totem animal of my people because... reasons.
Knowledge is power. Blessed be brother. Me and my husband are currently sitting in our living room, watching your video here on tv in good o’le Alabama USA!? Lol anyway, literally not it even an hour ago now we were sitting discussing and studying our trillions of galaxy’s in existence and just randomly clicked on your video… and me and my husband just turned and smiled at each 😂 to make it short, we definitely share the same brain waves, and off the short amount of time we were listening to what you had to say, we found another mentor, someone to learn and grow from, brother, etc. we will be going back and enjoy watching your journey. We appreciate you, brotha. Sjáumst!
I don't know too much about that crowd but the one's I've come across recently I have not been at all impressed with. Maybe I am jaded by my personal experience but one of the loudest ones is making up fantastical claims and even telling lies for views. I came in trying to learn and ended up in the wrong place with that one. It isn't Loki worship that bothers me but the fantastical claims and behavior of some so called Lokeans. I am hoping I just ran across the worst of the worst and not the norm.
I can only estimate it as I just put the bike in “winter storage.” The bags are about 10.5 inches wide so both would add 21 inches onto the width of the bike
Hey man you're doing good don't worry about haters, I'm from Colorado in the U.S. and definitely loved your thoughts. The problem is everybody wants equality here, when in fact people just aren't equal. This directly effects the faith here, hence the reason Christianity was so successful even into modern time. Christians want everyone to believe the way they do therefore equality is popular. Now that Paganism has taken traction here it started spreading like wild fire, people desperate for change maybe. Anyways I have more for you if you want I have alot of knowledge just let me know, skol brother!
I respect the mythological figure as someone who stands up as one against the many, and as someone who stands by the choices he's made, be it for better or for worse, and as his character included shapeshifting and gendershifting I see him as more of a Norse patron saint of the outcasts and misfits than someone you can summon to your house and "work" with. In that way I can't understand the consepts of Lokeans as a community (sacrificing their individuality to belong to a group) or worshipping a figure of impermanence and change by building permanent structures like shrines and altars. I also saw someone say that they offered to Loki to ask him to leave them alone, but that is so strange. Chaos happens to everyone, it doesn't single you out. - But these are just my thoughts on the matter, and of course everyone is free to believe whatever they want.
Hey! Could you maybe send me some detailed photos of the system without the panniers and with them. I'm not sure if I like the look for mine. But I can't find anywhere pics
Hey man, ancient suscriber over here, i hope you are ok, and watching the videos and your answers, i think we all miss your heathen videos, because for most of all were a guidence, i read that you go on a donward spiral, so we all, i hope you are good and we can connect again in this nordic journey. Ps: awesomen bike dude, how it is ridding a bike in Sweeden?
