Im trying to comment and help the algorithm. The end of the Travelers was incredible, except the protesters. Tom Kim showed incredible sportsmanship. The good mojo will bless him soon. (The Open maybe??)
Golf needs a new guy to win and challenge the field to be the guy to beat. Seeing people no one has ever heard of winning each week, isnt compelling for pro golf. A Cinderella story is awesome every once and a while, but it loses its amazement every week.
Talk to the guy first? When I was younger I assumed my local course got their range balls by collecting old balls from the hazards so from my point of view the balls didn't belong to the course either, sort of like I was paying them to collect the balls. Ebay makes things easy these days.
Way too hot to have this in Houston during the summer. Long lines at the concessions, understaffed , lack of shade, no recycling etc…They would have been well served to hand out free sunscreen and refillable water bottles with your ticket. They need to take a look at ACL in Austin, that’s how you run a festival.
Who was fined? I missed the news on this. side note: as someone who has watched golf for 40 years, I would have rolled my eyes at LIV as a ticky-tacky mickey mouse venture if it wasn't for the people bank rolling it. I feel like people kind of know about it (the victims of 9-11 protesters etc.). For some reason, what gets me--and what not many people seem to know about--is the story of Jamal Khashoggi. Give the wiki a quick read and you'll see why DeChambeau winning the US Open made me nauseous. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamal_Khashoggi
On the fines for speaking about the commish/league, we were just saying PGAT never reveals amounts, so if players were being reprimanded, we'd never know...As a collective we've decided that there are many aspects of the LIV business model that are ripe for criticism, and while aware of the politics that intersect here, YT is not the best forum for nuance.
Rory created bad mojo by not going out and congratulating Bryson. Now instead of losing to Bryson, it will be he missed a short putt. By going out and being cool and doing what's right, he now has left it on himself. Bryson went and took the loss on his back and placed it on Schafflee as more of a win. That's creating good mojo. That lifted the pressure. The good mojo came back to him in the form of a win in Pinehurst.
Jay botched the LIV threat so badly he should already be gone Now he's chasing a sunk-cost, trying to win an ego battle with Yasir that he already lost 18 months ago He'll bankrupt the tour before he surrenders control
100%, he had a window of time when Phil was talking off the cuff & bungling the recruiting…Money was cheap to borrow during the pandemic where they could’ve cut this off at the pass.
They did everthing but bring out a voodoo doll praying for bad lies for Bryson. Then they don't even show him making a birdie. Lol, they hate he won. And now the trophy will be on the next LIV deal. But Rory will win a troon. I felt horrible he had that short put that was a left to righter. It was way harder than it looked. The one place not to be.
I gotta think Bryson misses the pga tour now more than ever….going to the last few holes against Rory…gotta be more fun than staring down the Cleeks and them other LIV dudes.
Nope, he never said that. They tried to say Rohm was upset about his decision too, yet I never saw a video of that, either. PGA made it's bed and now they'll sleep in it with those who get paid to ignore the reality of the situation.
These decisions they have made are just not linear...Money, legacy, theatre of sport are all these things they have to weigh that don't necessarily exist in 1 place.
@ParfortheCourse when Tiger got a 40mil check from Nike everyone thought it was amazing. In today's dollars that's more than most LIV players got, if not all on a three year to one basis. The guys play for money. The Tour was broke and they all new it. LIV exposed the hypocrisy of it all. And the only people to benefit from LIV other than the "signed" players were the top players on the Tour. I'm not a huge LIV fan, but the Tour was pathetic in how they were taking care of the few players. They say one thing and yet do another. A little consistency from the tour would've been nice. The phone is still ringing.
I don't like or hate LIV golf. I like what I like and LIV is boring. I could care less about team golf in LIV. Rod hit the nail on the head... Rahm isn't the same player he was, no fire. Same with DJ. You can love or hate LIV but there's no denying that it ripped apart professional golf and made great players complacent (by tossing them hundred million dollar contracts). I love the game of golf but I only watch RU-vid golf, the majors and a few PGA signature events. I tried LIV and it's not compelling to watch unfortunately, although I hope they improve.
@@ParfortheCourse no one at all said that. You are clearly displaying hate towards another tour. The Houston event was awesome and in year two of playing they are doing great. I hope that LIV and the PGA push each other to both improve in time. PGA is on year 108 and LIV is on year 3 but 2 years of playing. It will take LIV time like it did the PGA to be as big.
We’ve been analyzing this league since the inception, as a traditional business it is a failure. All the other objectives that LIV may have are not for me to evaluate. Watch the vid listen to the words, it’s evaluation, not hate.
You got Roger Clemens who is one of the biggest cheaters in his sport telling us how professional golfers need to work Hard and Come through in the clutch. Maybe he can set them up with his steroid dealer To get them over the line
A hit dog is going to holler!! You might be able to tell the hit dogs by the comments below. You can love what you love without someone else validating that for you! Peace and love ❤
The course is not a very spectator friendly course, very spread out and long walks in between holes especially between 1 and 2 and 17 an 18. Plus it's too darn hot that time of the year. Same thing goes for Dallas in September, it's just to darn hot to enjoy the day. I attended the PGA Houston Childrens Open earlier in the year and it was great, easy course to get around and the weather was awesome. Bring the LIV tournament earlier or later in the year and it will most likely be better attended.
Just a bunch of haters that weren't even at the tournament and don't have a clue about what they are talking about. Just talking in circles and contradicting themselves.
They had several mister fans and free water stations all over the course. Yes it was hot and humid but it's Houston in June, what else do you expect. Saturday was a great time and I look forward to Dallas in Sept. I'd bet there was probably 25 to 50 thousand people there on Sat. Also I don't see how you 2 guys can talk bad about LIV if you didn't even go to the event!
To be honest there wasn't much criticism, just the expression that there isn't much excitement or drive to go view the events in-person. I'm sure that in person it's fine, but as a product that most people will watch on TV it is poor. Respectfully there were not 25 or 50,000 people out there, I've reviewed all 3 days and unless Liv is hiding people. The feeling of being in a grandstand may feel like it's more densely packed than it is but there is no way that that many people attended in a single day. We speak to the poor planning of having an event in Texas in June, even criticize the PGA tour because the Charles Schwab a few weeks ago was borderline too hot to have an event down here.
@@ParfortheCourse i went on sunday and just the range was stupid packed watching the players. also the guys parachuting in on the 1st tee was pretty badass. having been to many pga events, my wife and i definitely perfer LIV to the pga. it felt like an actual sporting event versus the typical stuck up country club vibe you get at pga tournaments.
@@drewwall4860 You don’t seem very intelligent, so I’m not surprised. Did you notice the PGA, all the changes they’ve made since LIV came about. Why do you think they happened ? Are you smart enough to figure that out? I doubt it. Go pleasure yourself to your Brandel Chamblee poster.
Texans are real Americans. They didn't forget 9/11 and people who financed it. F Liv and their attempt to greenwash who they are and the players who sold their souls.
If you don't like LIV because of the association with the Saudis and their money, then I hate to break it to you, but their money has been invested EVERYWHERE. You're gonna find there are a lot more enterprises that have Saudi investment. Even though they have reduced their investment, they've had a long standing chunk of money in FedEx...and you know what FedEx sponsors...?
I saw the event. Golfers wear shorts. They play loud music on the tee box. There are small crowds around the greens. Especially following Koeoka or Deschambeau. It has the feel of a triple A or Div II college event. Almost a senior golf event with guys like Lee Westeood and Phil and Graham McDowell. Time to merge back with the Pros.
@@JJG86 There are a handful of top pros in the field to go alongside some average pro"s and a handful of washed up PGA and European stars. It's just not working out. They don't even have a ligit TV deal. No one watches. I probably should have said time to merge back with the real pro league. Not to mention the courses and the history. Scheffler wins over Morikawa at Muirfield village, Jack's tournament. Carlos Ortiz beat Adrian Moronk - who I had never heard of.
@@johningle1 Of course you never heard of Meronk, you’re not a real Golf fan, you’re a PGA butt boy. Adrian Meronk won three tournaments on the DP tour last year. You probably never heard of the DP tour either. 😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡
