if you just say the words without getting so technical it would be easier....si vous prononcez simplement les mots sans devenir aussi technique, ce serait plus facile.
In fact when I discovered the English fonetics I wish I discovered it before that's why now that I'm learning French That was the first step that I complete learning the French fonetics, thanks for your advices, they will help me to learn in a better way French :)
spanish is my native language and french is in a way similar to spanish when it comes to objects gender but I actually comiit more gramatical errors in my native language that in english so learnings french for mehad been a lot more difficult that what I first thougt it would be 😅
I spent 2 months and could not even memorize half of the phonetic rules , so I just keep going on, never expect that you can read everything after learning all of the rules at the beginning!
This is awesome !!! Thanks a lot !!! As we learn a language it’s important to learn the slang and bad words because these are a part of the whole package .. the society uses these more frequently .. really appreciate this !!! Your teaching style is awesome !!! Thank you so much !!🙏🏽
Does anyone have tips for when: You can’t produce the gargling sound without the water? For me, the water is producing the gargle, not really my throat. Without the water, the sound goes dry, linear, and raspy.
I'm 72 years old and have been struggling for 50 years to pronounce the French "R" right. I was taught all sorts of things in high school and college... technical stuff about using the uvula, and the "R" being a velar sound. But I was never shown the right way to do it. Until now I had the sound placed in the back of my mouth and it never sounded right... it was passable but it sounded like I was gagging. But in just 10 minutes of watching this video I realized what I was doing wrong and was able to place the sound further down in my throat and then the "trilling" sound came naturally. The gargling exercise is genius! Thank you. 😊 Now I'm ready to sit down at the piano and sing "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" and "La Vie En Rose." 😎
bonjour! jáime beaucoup comment vous expliquez la prononciation. comme une débutante, le francais est très difficile. mais, vous vidéos sont très utilisant. Aussi, je suis désolée pour mes erreurs!
I started watching your videos trying to learn French but i was also trying to learn Italian which is easier since my first language is Spanish, so i decided to wait on the French learning until I'm satisfied with my Italian. But i will get back to your videos soon.
This is amazing, I wish our teacher would've taught us this in class!! I've struggled with this sound a lot in the past but I think I've finally mastered it yay but can anyone recommend me any similar type of videos/youtubers for learning the German pronounciation, as it is my next great challenge :D
You're an extremely helpful teacher! At some point in my French learning, I got too frustrated with pronunciation and put that on the back burner. However, now I'm at the point where I can read a write pretty good - and I can sound new words out fairly accurately - but still, my pronunciations are embarrassing. I love how you talk about the mouth shape and where the sound should be coming from because that's *so important*! For me, I really need to feel the words in my own mouth rather than just hearing them. Like, in "Il est deux heures" v "Il est douze heures". They sounded the same - but after learning the mouth shape and where the sound needs to come from/out and feeling it for myself, I get it now! Anyway - thank you so much, you're a wonderful teacher!
I dont know how to make sound in my throat on purpose :( My native langauge is not English, and we roll the r like crazy, but the french R sounds more like a strong German ch for me :/
Botched pronunciation in French prevents me from considering this is a language to learn. I can make the sound, because... I know how to clear my throat... but it is just R I D I C U L E S. It sounds like trying to introduce a speech impediment on purpose! Aside from it, there are a lot of pronunciation rules that botched this romance language for me. I prefer Italian, Spanish or even Latin.
