I love the work of those three and I haven't seen them perform together. Eldridge and O'Donovan's voices go together wonderfully well. Life is so good.
His picking is so great it's kinda hard to realize how great he can sing. I'm 61 and add my voice to the chorus he's simply the fastest flat picker I've ever seen ❤
Stan Jay - Makes me smile just to hear his name again. Many great hours at Mandolin Brothers. I used to enjoy getting their news letter with the inventory and Stan’s witty descriptions In the days before the internet.
So fun! It's hard not to hear Barney's Spirit living on as you play that. The tone is so unmistakable it's ridiculous. I was afraid Barney would be forgotten when he passed away, and just the world of jazz guitar seems to have gotten a little smaller, but for those with listening ears it's great to hear somebody playing all the way alive music that reminds us why we love this music, and make us eager to hear where it goes next 😊
What a cool bunch of pickers sharing with us.. I started way too late but having fun now! getting coffee and heading out in my beautiful yard..( abuse my 000-15m lol)
One of the greats. I wonder how many left handed guitars he has made? Could you ask him? I haven't listened to the whole interview yet. Thanks for posting this!!
I guess they recorded two takes? At the end you can hear a short conversation: Bill: “So either one, you can choose” FJ guy: “That was great!” Bill: “I don’t know…” What humility after laying down such a gorgeous rendition, and what a performance
Beautiful. I have many conversations with my sister who lost her lovely hubby last year (my lovely bro in law too). These words are something she needs. Thank you Margaret ❤
