That was as beautifully played for my ears, as that guitar is pleasing to the eyes. That song will be stuck in my head for the rest of the afternoon. Much better than some of the weird crap that has been there, such as, "First there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is" from Donavan.

I remember all of the comedic orchestration in the 2 pieces , if I only had a brain and if I only had a heart. The orchestra went through several in each rendition.

What impresses me me is how complex the tunes from that area were. To play it well you really had to be very proficient and Jonathan has the chops

I live in Australia and it bugs me that I can't just go and see Jonathan live in LA, where I presume his audience is still rather modest and niche. As I grow older I am less interested in the fastest guitar solos and more interested in this acoustic chord melody and swing approach (and slower but focused guitar solos a la Charlie Christian on Rose Room). He deserves to be more well known, although I have noticed more interest in him over the last few years.
