Light is influenced by gravity and distance. “Gravity” i.e. the importance of something, “Distance” i.e. how far removed by time you are from something, changes your perspective. A word can have a different meaning depending on context. Neil does this a lot in his lyrics. He is a word wizard.
The issue isn't whether Oakland is better than Vegas or visa versa. The issue is what makes this punk think he knows everything just because he has a few hit songs. Billie Joe Armstrong is a punk and a moron. Anyone who takes him seriously is weak and stupid. This applies for all celebrities. Just because I can throw touchdowns doesn't mean I know everything about everything. Get a grip!
The underlying shame is that Oakland and many other parts of CA are now unrecognizable to those of us who lived there in the 60's and 70s. Read that John Fisher, Managing Partner of the A's, said they would lose 40 million in 2023!? Who can blame him for leaving? This kind of stuff aggravates my OCD (Old Curmudgeon Disorder).
them opinionated artists i tellya. But but i'm sure other die hard Oakland fans have similar outrage. Anyway Baseball isn't a real sport, no bare-knuckle fights with blood on the ice. It's basically a hobby.
Kind of dig it. The balls to have you review his stuff. I’ve thought about having you review some of my stuff but I’m not sure if I can handle the truth. 😆 but you never know, I might just send you money someday to do so. So Brad I’ll check out your album, I mean Justin said its fine and thats pretty high praise.
You need to watch Ritual from the same concert. One of the best renditions where all bar Howe play drums at one point. Brislin is a brilliant substitute for Wakeman. You even get to see someone dancing to the music 😂
Between this guy and Jack Black and so many others, there has to be some entrepreneur out there willing to launch a rehab center specifically for celebrities addicted to doing and saying shit that sends their own careers down the toilet. It's a weird phenomenon that's been going around in recent years. The only one I give a pass is Joni Mitchell because nothing she can say will undo her untouchable talent and genius, plus she very likely has some level of brain damage from recent health issues and age. The rest are just full of themselves so much they are tone deaf to reality.
He’s already in the R&RHoF, has millions, he’s achieved his dreams. Yes, he is very comfortable. To keep things current, I’d like the Killers to trash Oakland.
they're listening to NET GIRL... NET BOY... lol oh and dog years. Or they're listening to nearly every other album of theirs that is better than this. my opinion.
I often sway between "The Unforgettable Fire" and "Surrender" as my 2 favorite U2 songs. I was in college at FIT in Melbourne, Florida when The Unforgettable Fire album was released. I had the privilege of seeing U2 4 times in one week on that tour all over the state of Florida - all of them being general admission gigs - which means, once you got through the gates, you rushed towards the stage to get the best seats you could find. I got to meet Bono twice after the shows in Hollywood, FL on that tour. Drinking Miller Lites with Bono behind the venue while sitting on the hood of my Jeep - memories I'll never forget!
This track is a mostly acapella requiem, inspired by MLK, with just a hint of stadium-crowd-like sounds created by the synths. It’s an unusual but fitting closer to TUF. Intimate yet aware of a greater social fabric/consciousness. Scaled down yet subtly alluding to a bigger experience. It has a beautiful melody and creates a peaceful, settling down mood. And I love how the same synths that fade out here … will fade in to open U2’s next album, the masterpiece The Joshua Tree. Like you’re putting an experience to bed here…and then sometime later starting it up again in continuation, but it is different-just as you are different by then.. Overall, I simply love TUF-with a love that never seems to wane. This album grew & grew on me, because of its malleable nature that seemed to transform into whatever I needed it to be at different times in my life. Even the tracks that I thought at first were “forgettable” turned out to surprisingly hold my interest and change over time and bloom. It never fails to put me in a mood and uplift me. It was interesting to hear the album through your eyes as a first-time listener. Thanks. (But sorry, BAD-especially the live extended version-is just sublime..)
