I’m new to the game but I’m hoping to make a name in the PEV world. Started with reviewing the Cycleboard Rover and then moved on to doing some OneWheel videos. Last board was the Meepo Hurricane Ultra gear drive. What’s new? The Lorentz Major! Can’t wait. Commenting for the algo but while I’m here i just want to say watch out ever putting a hyper charger on that adv before upgrading the bms. It’s a fire hazard when charging because it does not protect the fully charged cells if there is one cell out of balance, it will just keep charging. Hyper charging will add more heat and make the fire more likely.
I’ll keep that in mind. But I don’t currently have a hyper charger for the ADV. do you know when the upgraded BMS will be available? thanks for watching.
@@bleedsblue05esk8 Should be end of December. Floatwheel is a very small company so they will take the preorder money to build the v2 hardware. Great video, keep chillin. 🤙
0:15: Unsure if that's a fashion comment or safety comment, but FWIW, from what I've read, it's generally safer to use cycling helmets than skate helmets. Cycling helmets in the US need to pass the CPSC certification to be sold as a bicycle helmet, which is a more demanding standard than the ASTM F1492 skate standard. Unlike CPSC, ASTM does not require independent certification, so the safety is questionable. Even safer than cycling helmets are equestrian helmets, then probably motorcycle helmets.
It’s fun. But the area I live in doesn’t have the best roads. And it’s just not a onewheel. They really are so much better. When you’re not using a remote the board just feels like an extension of you. It’s awesome. Thanks for watching. And maybe I’ll look at some madwheels when I use these ones up.
Ordered and received my Cycleboard Rover on August 9th. The unit ran great, however it would not charge. Customer service said they would send a replacement charger. The replacement charger didn't charge the board either. They asked me to open up the board and show them pictures of the fuses. They determined fuses were fine. They asked me to charge the battery and send them a voltage test. I don't have the equipment to test the battery and it won't charge regardless. They said I couldn't request a return because I was outside of the 14-day return period. They offered to send a replacement battery on August 29th. I reached out to them on September 4th to see why the battery hadn't shipped yet and they said they were on holiday (Labor Day weekend) and that it was "in the queue" to be shipped. I've reached out to them every few days since then and they are no longer responding to me. I've tried calling, email, and social media. No answers from them anywhere. I would appreciate your upvote to help get the word out that this company is seemingly not trustworthy!
Absolutely! That’s why I put this video out there. Their product is subpar and there customer service is awful. It actually makes me sad to see that they have not improved. They have great potential to be so much more.
@@soldbyronnie actually my disappointment in this board and their customer support is what got me into making RU-vid videos. Good luck and I hope they eventually get you that new battery.
@@bleedsblue05esk8 thank you! Funny enough this morning after posting my story on as many different social media options, I could find I got a shipping notification for it. I don’t think that was an accident or a coincidence🤣
I have a floatwheel and absolutely love it. I just purchased my funwheel and can’t wait to put it together. I did trade out the thunder rails for wtf rails and a kush wide back footpad. One thing I wanted to bring up for the floatwheel is the quality of the plastics are lacking to me. Even with the new plastics the engineering on them creates cracks even if you set your drill to the 1st torque setting. I am on my third footpad and my second bumpers for them. My crop top fenders have cracked three times and replacing my footpad (because of ghosting issues even after setting the fault voltage to 2volts) the two screw hole areas disintegrated. The floatwheel is definitely worth more than the price Tony is selling it for. However, I would Recommend being careful and hand torquing everything when it comes to The plastics.
100% agree on the plastics. But with that being said, I’ve only had one issue with the plastics and that’s two of the screw holes under the fenders were cracked on each foot pad. I hand tightened everything and really should always hand tighten all these boards when putting them back together. I haven’t had any other issues with the plastic besides that and have not had further cracking with the plastics. Thanks for the comment and thank you for watching. You’re going to love your FunWheel. The 2nd FunWheel build I’m doing is with orange steel & deeps.
I'm thinking of getting the PintV drop in kit and then get the quart battery if everything works well. I want the torque so I don't get thrown off at low speed which happened with the stock pint. Anything I should look out for with drop in kit? I seen the video Tony made on how to install it, but really haven't seen any other YT videos on it. How long did it take to get the drop in kit?
It maybe took 45 minutes total from tear down to putting it fully back together. It come already programmed and I don’t have to change any values for my Pint X. It’s seriously a game changer for the Pint and anyone who owns one should get this kit. Super easy to install. The only issue I had was I think one of the battery box threaded holes might have stripped on me when reassembling and the gasket for the front box had to be trimmed. I do wish someone out there would put out for purchase an aftermarket controller and battery box gasket. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
@@bleedsblue05esk8 Thanks. I was a bit on the fence as I got back on the Pint today after having been strictly on my e-skateboard the last 9 months because I was ejected from the Pint at low speed with no pushback. Pretty sure it was pulling too much torque, which the drop-in kit will address in terms of more torque and charge-only BMS (no protecting the battery over the rider). Thanks again for answering my questions.
I'd order the PintX battery module to go with the PintV. The quart battery is janky as it barely fits in the Pint box. I installed one and kind of regret it but I didn't want to wait for PintV + PintX battery module.
That’s weird, my GTV has zero crunch and is silky smooth. Still not as good as my ADV though which crushes everything. Wish I started out with ADV, I would have saved a ton of money.
@@bleedsblue05esk8 I put on a Burris treaded TX33 . It is a harder compound tire and last along time. I got 2500 miles on one I had on my xr. But thunder tire TFL Endero feel a lot better
I run a Maxxis 5.5 which I love. Because it's more narrow than the 6.5 version it's *very* round so probably the most carvey tire available. It takes a min to get used to but once you do it's hard to go back.
So power wise if you’re an average rider it’s going to be about the same. Range, the Floatwheel battery has at least 10 more miles at my weight of 165 than the Fungineers battery pack. 21 miles to dead on Fungineers. And 31 max I’ve gotten on the Floatwheel.
@@bleedsblue05esk8 thanks I do like my float wheel, but I’m a heavier guy, but it overheats way too much on me so I’m looking for some maybe a little lighter and not overheating and I’d be willing to give up the range. I’ll wait to pull the trigger on a Funwheel/fungineers until I watch your video and get a little more info. Thx a ton!!
I hope not for your sake. I was really hopeful with this controller because they look awesome and should perform great. But the fact that I had to send it back twice for the same issue just boggles the mind. Thanks go watching and good luck.
Maybe. But now I have over 4k miles riding that way so I’m trained lol. I struggle riding the other way now. I’ve tried to get used to riding in both directions and it just feels wrong riding goofy. Thanks for watching.
What sort of range do you get? Or your son (my girlfriend is about 120.. it’s for her) she gets like 12 miles on the XR.. is the range like 20-30? GT ranges?
I’m getting less than the GT but more than what they are saying for the GTS. I get between 20-25. Of course depending on hills and speed. And I’m 165lbs. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
@bleedsblue05esk8 thanks for that. Are there bigger batteries for this box or would a bigger battery need a bigger box? And how do you find a box for it, do you ask about compatibility with these rails? I got a Floatwheel and am now in love with vesc and would love to make a board like yours here, was wondering total cost you have into it.
I think once I get some more miles on this grip tape it will break in well. So about a mile in I was still having issues with engagement. But I’d say approximately 5 miles in I didn’t have anymore issues with it. So I want to give it another 100 miles and see what happens before I modify anything. If it’s still hard initial engagement after I put 100 miles on this grip tape I’ll probably just change it out for plain grip tape or some 1WheelParts foam grip tape. Thanks for watching.
I’m about to put the full FunWheel together. I put a Thor300 in my GT. The ADV has more power and capability still because of the Cannon Core. But with the Thor the Hypercore has a lot more torque and get up and go. It will be interesting to compare the SuperFlux to them both.
As of right now, I'd say Aimcontroller is the best ps5 controller you can get by far. The one on the video is an older version, not sure if it has V1 or V2 paddles. The newest one is by default rocking the best triggerstops on the market, switchable snap panels and the V3 paddle design. Right now, they are also offering hall effects. I'd say, you can maybe get better or more comfortable paddle design at other premium controller sellers, but in terms of features and customization, Aim is king.
I’m actually having an issue with a new AimController I ordered. It came and the left thumb stick kept sticking in the down position. So I sent it back for a warranty repair. While they had it the Hall effect sticks came out so I paid the extra to get them installed while in for the repair. They sent it back and it worked great for two days and then the stick started sticking in the down position again. I noticed that their anti friction rings seems cheap and thin and seemed to be wearing down super fast. I’m wondering if that’s the issue. Still waiting to get it back the second time from repair.
@@bleedsblue05esk8 interesting. So I had mine for a year and a half and had 0 problems whatsoever. It's a 10/10 controller for me and the obly thing that worn down was the paint on the paddles. Otherwise it still looks like brand new, while my stock dualsense looks like it went through hell and back with around same amout of play time. And now that they are offering hall effect, that's basically all I ever wanted in a controller. I'd probably try to solder some hall effects on the current one myself if they weren't offering them. And thank god for that, since I hate and suck at soldering.
@@etceterax144 I don’t mind soldering. It’s the de-soldering that I am not very good at. Hopefully when I get it back this time, I will have no issues. This will be my second one. I had to V1 and the joystick ended up going bad on me.I ended up fixing it myself and then the other joystick went so I just gave up on it. That’s when I made an extreme rate controller. So far the extreme rate controller is the only one I’ve had no issues with.
Sorry I haven’t done much on the updates lately. Life has been busy. The GT is a good board. But I’m in the process of changing it over to a GTV. The board is throttled by their electronics. And I’ve bought a FloatWheel and it’s night and day better. I think the FM motor has a ton more potential. But if you have the ability to buy the FloatWheel with crypto you’ll be happier. The only thing that sucks with the FloatWheel is a lack of after market accessories.
What’s your bushing setup? Just got a major and it feels stiff when turning. I got the 65 (green) in the front and 85 (white) in the back Thinking of switching the back to 75 (orange) and see if that would add some carvy-ness to it
@@bleedsblue05esk8 gotcha. And how loose are your trucks? I like to carve more during my rides really (as I own a OneWheel) I know with my weight (145lbs) this is a beast of an eskate to maneuver so I don’t expect it to be as nimble as a OneWheel, but hopefully be able to carve at least to make the ride enjoyable. May have to play around with then bushing setup to dial it down
@@dalfimcrouch yeah you’ll never get this anywhere close to a OneWheel when it comes to carving. But you can’t get it to glide back and forth on the road. There is definitely a break in period with these bushings.
@@bleedsblue05esk8 yeah, after being on the major when I first got it (still learning and all) I rode my GTS that same afternoon and I was flying 😅 Found out how far you can loosen up the pins too (the threaded part was pretty lobby to give you a bit of wiggle room) and that loosened up the trucks quite a bit. Of course it was raining that day so I haven’t had the chance to test out the new tuning
You're bored looks brand new. I didn't see you drive over anything other than pavement. So I don't know why you would even bother with fenders or a new tire.
The board is a lot different now with 2100 miles on it. I do ride mostly road with maybe 10% of my mileage off road. But you’ll pick up and toss everything right into your shoe. If you live in a snowy area rock silt sucks without some sort of fender. Thanks for watching.
