I reckon the ratio on 1:10 and the blend halfway is what I'm looking for. I get the 'natural' attack because of the clean blend but I get the sustaaiiiiin I want. Very cool, thanks man!

What was wrong with the CS pickups ?

So I moved away from Les Pauls after I tired of the weight, the incessibility of the higher frets and uncomfortable ergonomics. A couple of years ago I tried my hand at the SG and loved how the body felt but I didn't like how far the nut was away from the body...so I sold it. Recently, I discovered that 1972-1984 SG's have their neck set further into the body such that the space between the fretboard and neck pickup - found on all SG's outside this year range - is closed up. This small difference makes a big difference to the feel and balance of the SG. But I'm unsure if it's enough for me; time will tell. Edit: I'm considering a PRS Mira.

Very cool video, and great tones man 👍 I personally also love the look and the sound of Jazzmasters, just when they’re in the hands of players like yourself. For some reason I’ve never liked actually playing one when I’ve picked them up in guitar stores, and never managed to get a sound I liked out of them. That could be because they’ve been set up badly as I found the bridges rattly and the sustain really lacking. Never had that problem picking up a Strat, Tele or Les Paul style guitar though. Maybe they’re just not for me? 🤔

There is a Jazzmaster P90/JM hybrid pickup for the bridge. These are great. Pickupwizzard used to make them. Also, you might want to check out The Creamery's 59 Humbucker for Jazzmaster... If you want that creamy sound, you are gonna love it... both mix nice with a stock Jazzmaster neck pick up!

Thank you so much for this review/show. It's a pain to try out different aps and PAs now that loads of music shops are just online, so your video has helped me with my decision. It helps that you are clearly a talented player and singer... Bose should hire you to do the demos!

Thank you for producing the ONLY review/demo on these that actually shows everything they can do (and can‘t), with in-depth adjusting as well as various styles of playing. Fishman, themselves, produce crappy videos on their own products that don‘t really reveal their tonal capabilities. Peghead Nation and a couple others also produce worthwhile content, but your presentation is definitely the most helpful. Loving the form factor of these for my cramped acoustic/electric pedalboard, but not sure if the tones would suit me. Might give them a spin just to see.

Pure nickel round core strings like Pyramid are the best.. why? Cos they have better dynamics.. last longer.. and put less wear on the frets.. i have my guitars all modified to use 10 gauge and if you can afford to put stainless steel frets in your les paul with an improved bigsby vibrato with all vibramate accesories and an earvana nut.. you will have the best sound in the world.. use good quality low capacitance cables.. even in your wirelress system instead of the default thin core wires.. i can do dive bombs with my modified bigsby vibrato.. both ways.. floid rose systems give an artificial touch to tone.. only my vintage straticaster vibrato and bigsby i like.. by the way i use brass bell high quality rollers instead of standard tune o matic system so the vibrato does not get out of tune.. real pure nickel first 3 strings are not the same as stainles steel with nickel cover.. forget it.. 3 first strings break easily in plated steel but real pure nickel adapt to tension so u only have to fine tune before playing .. they dont crack for no reason.. i do extreme bending and mutes so i know it is not the same!! My real pure nickel last 3 times more and give me more power and intonation!!

This guy obviously understands the electrical/electronic functioning of the amp, and can talk about it with enthusiasm. Emblematic? Antithesis? And he has a good vocabulary, and knows how to use it. Not a single "awesome", "like", "literally", or any of the other junk language most people use. Wow, so he's articulate, too! Then there's the fact that he can play. Kudos!

Pros and cons. I don't like them. See problems cited in Stringjoy's "Why I Changed My Mind About Locking Tuners". Also, "Locking Tuners Worth It? Advantages, Trade-Offs & Changing Strings". See also -- Landon Bailey -- "The truth about locking tuners". I've got three teles .. only one w/ the Fender locking tuners .. I personally find it harder to change than the old school styles, which I also have on my acoustics and bass guitars. I like the Stringjoy video "Why I Changed My Mind About Locking Tuners" for a balanced view on the topic, pros and cons, and for instances they might not be a good fit.

You should get tuffset if you really like rocking jazzmaster bridge. I’m using one with my fender japan junior jazzmaster with prs dgt 49-11 string set. I kinda need it to be 11 and short scale since I play slide…..

Hi Jay. I am currently using Telecasters and was disappointed that you didn't demo this pedal with your famous Tele. Was there a reason for that? Does this pedal not really go well with a Tele, for instance? Thanks for your great YT demos.

I'm 47 years old. Growing up I had always heard about these pedals but with the name like rat I guess I just thought it would be shrill and crappy. which is ridiculous because somebody was buying them! 🤷 I finally bought one. 🤯 🤦 I was a fool for waiting 20 years to buy one of these It's everything I ever wanted in a distortion pedal and more. This is one of those pedals that you just should buy because they are just that good. One of the rare regrets in life that I have. I was stubborn and didn't buy this pedal because of a preconceived notion I had. Dumb dumb dumb
