This channel is dedicated to heavy metal from former Eastern Bloc countries (including Yugoslavia) in years 1980-1995. Let's dive back to the times when the globe was divided into two separate worlds by infamous Iron Curtain and where despite the omnipresent threat of possible persecution or even inprisonment young musicians did not hesitate to form bands and so create a unique style of very own heavy metal sound.
Hmmm….mixed emotions and thoughts. I can’t really categorize this as a specific style…the vocals remind me of the pop duo BROS….but thats just the tonality not the style or the skills. When it comes to ability….this singer can go quite high in his range…reminds me Rush. I feel some Tad Morose in here too….sometimes the vocals are out of tune and sometimes the production is that bad that the keyboards disturb the vocals. I see there was a lot of effort put by both drummer and guitarist. Again….production could have been better. Score: 8 out of 10
The singer can actually sing but it feels he did not practice enough time to deliver better vocals. It seems to me he was either rushed or lazy. As for the English singing…its a no no. How to put it for everyone to understand: he sings in Romanian as he was almost talking and without any efforts but in English you can hear his high vocals….the only problem is he sings in English with a strong accent making it harder for the audience to feel the words and emotions in the same time. Guitar riffs are fantastic….reminds me of Judas Priest. The drummer is very inexperienced and keeps on the same rhythm steady. It’s ok…but the vocals need HUGE improvement. Score: 5 out of 10
Very good music in the vein of Iron Maiden… pure heavy metal to its finest. One big mistake: the vocalist should have quit singing in English and just do demos for the band only. But….the band is at their early stage, after the revolution from 1989, and “kids just wanna have fun” and to R’n’R ! Score: 6 out of 10
Very close to Suicidal Tendencies. Pretty good for that year and the 90s era considering that grunge was slaying the metal to its core. Nice rhythm hooks in vein of Kreator, Slayer and some Sepultura here and there. Score: 7 out of 10
Considering that most of the songs on this album were re-recorded with different “soldiers” away from their original “brothers and fathers of creativity”, this album remains as good as it is to preserve the sound and the remembering of Voltaj. However….from all other tries and re-recordings without Cristi Ilie on vocals, this album is a very good “karaoke” of Voltaj songs. All my respects to Nicky Dinescu (drummer / RIP) Score: 7 out of 10
Good vocals….I actually can understand what he sings. The solos are very interesting….jumping from different modes and scales which makes a song to last for a very long time and listen to it more often. One thing I find kinda destructive to my ears is the keyboards. There was no need for them at all. Score: 8 out of 10
Первая группа в СССР, еще и в стиле Death metal, альбом дебютный. Учитывая те времена и возможности, для дебютника хороший весьма, уж точно не хуже чем Possessed'85 "Seven Churches".😊❤
WOW! Grande gruppo, uno dei migliori dell'est europeo.... e incredibile scelta, Noční město è la cover di "Blame It on the Night" dei RAGE!!!! Fantastici..
