Ooooh! Hello my early adolescence! Way back then, someone in my family accidently taped this ep of Solid Gold on a BETA instead of taping something else. And I watched this very musical number over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
Seems like the most frequent tech director from 1984-1988 was John B. Field, who had done a lot of awards ceremonies up to that point, although Ken Shapiro, Terry Donohue, Ray Conners, and Clay Jacobsen tech directed at times. I admit, there could've been two others to join the fray: Bob Jones and Parker Roe.
wow nicce piece of information for sure it ran with original music right hatte the title credits on streaming versions reallly how many yrs it ran on tbs channel
This is my absolute favorite opening theme. Can you name all of stars at that time. I see my favorite Michael Zaslow and Maureen Garrett as Roger Thorpe and Holly Reade.
@@robertphillips2642"Solid Gold" began as a one-time 2-hour special countdown of the top 50 songs from 1979. Ratings were huge. On September 13, 1980, the weekly series began and went for 332 episodes until July 23, 1988. From 1982 to 1986, there were special 2-hour annual, usually in February, countdown specials of the top 40 songs of the previous year and from 1982 to 1985, there were special 2-hour Christmas episodes. There was the 1982-1983 spin-off, "Madame's Place" and the June and July 1984 spin-off, the 30-minute weekday "Solid Gold Hits". "Solid Gold" had many different hosts and co-hosts throughout its 1980-1988 era.
