The trio of cars that won everything even when officials tried every trick in the book to stop them but failed. Audi Quattro. Nissan Skyline R-32. Dodge Viper.
This is a fascinating story, the 935 is very unique with all of its iterations. Pretty popular in that usa era with the bizarre modified longtails, JLP and so on... thanks so much for the video, im collecting model cars of various eras and motorsports, just love the background and history behind them..new subscriber
@@mikulitsi1819 ridiculously awesome. Every driver had the same opportunity to push the limits. The ACTUAL limits. Taking and using as much space on the track...
#bringbackgt1 #makelemanshypercargreatagain We got screwed when dayton/lemans prototype class got pushed into lemans hyper car class. We almost got a modern low restriction gt1 class. Been amazing with Valkyrie blondie etc.
I initially thought it was going to talk about the virtual endurance 24 hours race during Covid that Verstappen took part in. They forgot to turn on penalty limits, so drivers didn't bother taking a single corner correctly all race lol.
Gonna be a very annoying nerd here (sorry in advance): iRacing had a glitch where if you had more than 255 incident count for a race it would loop back to 0, meaning that for the first time slot if anyone went off the track or hit another driver they would be immediately disqualified, it wasn't that they forgot for the second time slot they had to disable it because otherwise everyone would get DQ'd 😅
Anything mentioned after 787B in this video is just enough to defeat the "rotaries are banned" allegations thrown by... well, some "mainstream". Kinda sad that Mazda didn't capitalize off of the LMDh regulations, they exited IMSA when this ruleset is being introduced, but I just hope that they would cook once more especially knowing that rotary engines are referenced in the sporting regulations, though I wonder which team would be interested in running it...
Desperate times create desperate measures, but I did not expect that the measures these drivers had would be _this_ desperate (thankfully not for very long).
John Watson telling it like it is as always! Legend! "The race looked like an actual professional event and not a racing game open lobby" hahah! Excellent as always! Thank you!
I feel like if international touring cars were closer to V8 Supercars it would be a lot more popular because the smaller and less powerful cars don’t really capture the imagination quite as much, at least to me.
@@GamersHolyArmy I think part of the allure of touring cars is that they're quite low powered and not fragile at all. Less power means corners and especially corner exits are even more important and that can allow for great racing.
Hey I really like your content and stuff I was just wondering I'm guessing this isn't your job this is just a hobby so I was wondering can you explain why it takes so long I was just wondering that's why so I don't mean anything bad about it but you know you do you and I hope it's going to be some more not in the long future?
A combination of lack of time and once having that time rather spending it on different stuff. I do have plans to make more videos and introduce some irl content soon.
No problem I hope is not the takes at long to next video Cause I understand if you work with something health Is it possible for me to ask you What do you do for living?
The problem is that while Le Mans is very flat and had very little things built around it meaning that it could expand runoff and infrastructure without much issue. Meanwhile the original Spa course is mountainous and even at the time was peppered with houses, only more so now. All that mean that if they wanted to expand runoff, especially at the most unsafe corners, you'd need to bulldoze a lot of housing, and they didn't have the popularity to do that in the 70s and they certainly wouldn't get it now, and since the Spa we have today is still considered one of the best race tracks in the world it's not really needed.
@@ChinoKawaii1021 Yes. First through Malmedy (Twice - Once through the Burnenville and once through Masta) , then through Stavelot. Keeping elements of the old spa road course would be impossible.
I initially wanted tou use actual race footage but also wanted to play it safe so i went with acc. Did at least give me the option to choose my own camera angles. You win some you lose some
How come Spa was completely regraveled? I thought the run off was safer at Spa because it allowed cars to slow down without risk of rolling/flipping and prevented long race neutralizations for retrieval.
