Great job bud we are getting our xo1 this week we only speed run but never with an xo1 we gunning for your record maybe we should do a challenge our channel is H and w racing channel
Paul - this is a fantastic setup you have for LiPo battery safety! Great job sir! Do you know if Bat-Safe is still operating? Also - Do you know whether Lithium Ion E-Bike batteries should also be kept in Bat-Safe boxes?
As far as I know bat safe is still operating. You can purchase at rc hobby shops like amain hobbies online or local shops. Not sure about e bike batteries. Appreciate your comments
I just found one possible weakness. The shelf. I know this shelf i also have it in my garage. Some important parts for stability are made of plastic. If they get hot and plastic become soft it is possible the shelf will collape, the BAT-SAFE boxes fall on the ground and probably would open, and the burning bats will fall out of the box and probably cause the fire to spread. But presumably the heat is so low and the boxes so tight that there is no danger of the plastic becoming soft... But it could still be the case I'm not 100% sure, so maybe it is a weakness after all...
I appreciate you watching. I guess that’s possible. There is a video online where they put the bat safe in a cardboard box with toilet paper around. They started a fire to test, and it didn’t ignite either one. The box is insulated. Not saying something crazy couldn’t happen. But I feel good about my setup. ✌🏼
@@Paul-815 the boxes have metaluc contact with the shelf. They can transfer heat to the shelf. Paper begins to burn at 180° - 360° C and in the scenario you descripe the paper was cooled by ambient air. But plastic can get soft at 80 - 150° C. Probably the shelf is a good cooler ( like a cpu cooler ) but i'm not 100% the shelf will keep under 80°C if one of the boxes will get very hot... I still believe there is a risk with this design... You can still improve it just by finding a shelf that is 100% of metal...
@@Paul-815 Yeah sounds good. Shelfes without plastic exist. Most time they have woden plates. We need to find some with metal plates... And i'm sure they exist...
what's the point when it's gonna scrape off and the white scars will look terrible in black body not that matt black body would not look boring and terrible already
The body is tough. The paint not so much. I don’t know if the juice was worth the squeeze. Having the paint on the outside is difficult. Any road rash takes off the paint.
Traxxas is a mediocre at best company who likes to steal innovations while simultaneously patenting what others invented. So far, Traxxas has sued Losi, Hobbico, HPI, Redcat, ARRMA, Maclan, Skulldugery, and probably more. This bully known as Traxxas has patented designs that they not only didn't invent, but have been used for years in the industry. The worst part? While Traxxas was suing for simple things like rubber o rings, double servos, or lay down shocks, Traxxas was stealing things like complete car design by TheJang's Chimera A (including the color scheme) and relabeling it a Telluride. Traxxas is a Texas lawyer with some cheap plastic products to sell you in order to kill the market with RTR's like they did HPI. Worlds fastest ripoff, TraxxASS
I’m using stock xo-1 body with drywall tape and shoo-goo. Make sure your front end is lower then the back. Rear needs to be firm so it doesn’t drop to much and be lower then front. Also make sure the front is as low as you can go without rubbing or bottoming out.
@Paul-815 105 Paul! Had too much spring pressue in the rear, Im running blue stripe, dosent bunny hop now. Gonna make some bigger stabilizer wings and attach to a few points on the body along with the side of the factory wing. Im stoked!
Not from bumps, I think because the rear shocks were so tight. Therecwas absolutely no movement like they were struts almost. Not doing it now since I backed them off some. I definitely dont want it to take off on me.
Beast Mode activated. I have a X0-1 as well but have never released the top speed of 100MPH since I have owned it when they first came out. This is amazing, you have skills.
Hey Paul I see your running a tp 4070 2200kv and a MAMBA XL X EXTREME what gearing would you recommend on this setup to achieve these numbers I am also local 815 and would love to have a chat with you over FB if possible about this setup looking to do something similar to beat my friends limitless
How’s it going. I’m running the stock speed gears. I’m just running 8s instead of of 6s. Bsr foam tires. The limitless is tough to beat. Much easier to drive. I’m not on Facebook. What questions do you have?
@Paul-815 the questions I had was what gyro are you using and are you using the stock spur gear then the high speed pinion with the setup your running and what size lipos are you running as I was debating eliminating the battery tray to fit bigger lipos
@@Mopar.Addict815 it’s a futaba gyro. The one I have is old, I don’t know if they make it any more. Gyc430 . The new ones are probably better. I did make my own battery trays to fit bigger batteries. Clear lexan from Home Depot and painted flat black to match. The stock trays don’t fit many options. I can fit any size battery. I use stock spur size. But it’s a metal version. It’s from Kershaw designs. I don’t think they are in business anymore. There might be a traxxas metal version of the gear that works, not 100% sure. And yes on speed pinion.
@@Paul-815 Hey buddy so I got my tp 4070 2200kv installed gonna make my first pass tomorrow on zee power batteries they are cheaper off brand ones rated for 120c on 6s and 100c on 8s what 8s batteries do you recommend with a high discharge that will keep up with the demand of esc I am still running stock esc until I get my max 6 in the mail.
@@Mopar.Addict815 good luck. I think there are a a lot of batteries that will do the job. The guys hitting two hundred with the limitless are using onyx and smc. Probably go that route. But they are more expensive. Just take your time And be safe. Good luck.
They do the same for subway stations... To get the smoke out... Really nice ! I gonna do the same if ever I have a own house (best case gardenhouse)...
Stunning body and rare color on a Corvette. Quick question, how did you paint the tail lights ? You painted it at the very end or before the black backing paint ?
I’m using 46t on 8s. But I have used mod before. I did 100 on 3s a while back. Search “XO-1 spur gear mod”. You’ll use slash parts and have to shorten center drive shaft. It can be done.
@@fredericktodd5789 ‘em performance used to make one and you didn’t need to modify driveshaft. But I don’t think they have them on their website any longer. You could try contacting them.
I understand what you are saying. When I first started watching speed run videos It was like an unwritten rule not to show your gearing. I guess I was just following the old school ways. They believed that everyone should have to learn for them selfs and not be handed setups. Now days with gear apps it really doesn’t matter. I used to have a hand written formula to figure out how fast the car should go with what gearing, tires, rpm, etc. Stock speed gear on 8s. No big surprise.
Hey dude awesome XO-1! What springs are you running in the rear? I see you have the red with green stripe 1.8s up front but I can’t get a good look at the rear. I’ve been messing around a lot with suspension lately. Thanks for the help!
First thanks for watching. I appreciate it. It took a lot of runs and practice. A few years of messing with. I started slow, because it feels like it’s on ice. I use bsr foam purple 1/8, that helps. Slowing the steering servo a little helps with it feeling not so twitchy. Check that the front shocks aren’t rubbing on camber link. If so shim. If you’ve crashed disconnect servo and go thru hole front end and make sure everything moves freely if not it will not go straight. I speak from experience. Take your time start slow. Good luck
@Paul 815 I realized I had GPM aluminum front end parts, so I installed them. Shocks shimmed. Working on getting slop out of front wheels. What kinda toe you running? Right now I'm 0..
You have a nice stretch of road there. Super clean run. I just acquired the latest xo1. And since you own the record I'm going to have to watch your vids to glean some knowledge.
