Can’t help think that WPL’s feel so cheap compared to MN’s latest offerings, usually for less initial cost! A £30 MN82 would outperform this out the box.
I’ve got the MN82 and I absolutely dont think it outperforms this one. The MN82 is a really nice little scale trail truck but, In my opinion this performs better out of the box
The MN (with worse tyres) can climb steeper angles & wins head to head in a tug of war. The WPL’s short wheelbase is good for approach/ over angles, but can’t handle a slant! Agree to disagree though 😊
Bought one a few weeks ago and took it on vacation with me. I tried it out in a fairly long and bumpy driveway and a yard full of deep grass. It handled both very well despite snagging leaves and grass. Its biggest issue I felt was the rear suspension stiffness and lack of shocks. In the rear the leaf springs tend to flex forward of the axle and don’t move much in the rear. It could do with an anti wrap bar and some shocks with more give in them. The front is the same, a bit stiffly sprung. I’m new to this whole thing but I think I’ll play around with it more and maybe look into giving it softer springs. All told? For the price it’s awfully good so long as you keep its limits in mind. The one I got I paid 64 for it and it came with 2 1200mv upgraded batteries, one of which lasted the entire week and was still doing good when I unplugged it to bring it home
The three piece shaft design is for ease of repairs. this allows you to seperate the axle from the truck without possibly stripping or losing the tiny thru pins
Wow! Good job, lol!! I think I’d rather upgrade these than spend the money on real hobby grade cars. I like the stock military look and might have the guts to upgrade the motor one of these days. For now, I’m good with just repainting mine for looks. Oh - the decorative front shocks - my car came with little springs in a bag and I pit them on the fake front shocks. It worked! What were we supposed to do with those springs??? So far, you are the winner of the challenge!
Thanks man! I think that I completely missed those springs tbh. Its a cool little buggy for sure, I am thinking about getting one to keep stock :) So much fun!
It’s not an epic fail, the military versions are an upgrade of the pinecone model. Yours is still unique. I’m painting my camo green model flat black in order to replicate a Navy SEAL version. I don’t have the energy to do a full tear down like you did. I intend to buy the desert camo version and might disassemble the whole thing and repaint it Tamiya desert tan to get rid of the “toy” look. These machines are worth it, they’re great for the money!
@topqualityfi8216 nope. I have 3 friends and myself with red version and none have drag brakes in either mode. But the tan ones we have have strong drag brakes. The tan one can push the red one no problem but the red ones can't move the tan ones cause the drag brake is so strong.
@@aces6262actually i'am not so sure either, because their 1st release came without wiper, and then the next batch came with wiper. So, yeah, i admit i make v1 v2 by myself 😅
