I think what these films have that's missing now is "charm". A kind of gentle humour that could not be recreated now (sadly). At least we still have all these films with a style like this. :-)

Спасибо за фильм и субтитры на русском языке! Замечательные актеры! Вчера смотрела,, Molly And Me,, и тоже очень понравился!

A brilliant performer, his comic timing is spot-on. But more importantly a beautiful human being. Nobody has ever had a bad word to say about Larry. Kind, decent, generous and sadly missed.

This is an incidental remake of a movie with Roland Young and Lillian Gish called “His Double Life,” 1933.

As Larry was born in 1923 i can't help wondering if he received a request to take part in the war effort. Maybe he did but they thought he was too meek and mild to be of any use!

So little is taught now days about this era. As any young teen or even young adults about WW2 and they give you a blank stare. Even Vietnam has faded into the past, with only a few bits and pieces even mentioned in school.

If the "Baker" is an example of French men during the war then no wonder they lost to the Nazis. There were such ingrates to the US also, ex: Charles De Gaulle post WW2 kicking American bases our.

Great movie. Reminds me of the fabulous film Mrs. Miniver during WWII Great Britain🇬🇧featuring Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon. Among many other perils Mrs. Miniver discovers a wounded Nazi Pilot in her backyard!

Completely disagree with the film being a 'lightweight' and that Constance Bennet was more of a 'glamour puss'! This film was quite gritty given it's subject matter and the year it was made. Both women were excellent in their rolls! It is a well known fact that there were many women who were involved in the French Resistance and or Underground whose lives mirrored that of the characters in the film. Read the research. More importantly, listen to the histories of the people who were there. 🫡🙏🇮🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💜
