We try to make our projects as easy to follow as we can. You can save hundreds even thousands of dollars doing it yourself. The methods we show you have made a very nice business for us in the Washington DC area. Thanks for reading.
Why don't you put a link in the description for the rest of this project? I would love to see it come up when I hate scrolling through people's multiple videos and wondering if this is the one or not.. 🤷🏼♀️ Just a suggestion....🙏🏼❤
I discovered your channel recently when I was looking for information about reupholstering couch cushions. While you are both expert upholsterers, what brought me back was the beautiy of your relationship; there is something so special going on between the two of you. Clicking on your link to look at foam pricing, it was expired. I Googled, and my heart broke to learn of your father's passing 💔 Truly. I have been thinking of your family ever since. Grant, I hope the memories of filming these vides with your father bring you peace and joy always.
This is so beautiful to watch, the respect of the father to his son and the son's respect towards his father. There is much good to say about the excellent work you do and share but my heart is filled with joy to see your relationship lived out for the world to see. Thank you for that.
Hi. your videos are very informative. Thank you for making this video. Before i saw these videos, I had bought 2.8 density 50 compression foam for my couch seats. That is the perfect firmness for us. We want a somewhat firm back foam cushion too. In this video you mention to not go more than 20 compression for back seating foam. What would you recommend as a back foam for us- i mean what density/compression? The 2 men who use this couch are over 200lbs and over 6ft tall :) I first thought that 2.8 density and 35 compression back cushion might be ok but worried it might be too firm so thinking of the 2.6 density and 27 compression foram? Thoughts? I dont see a reason to buy a 1.8 density foam when similar compressions or firmness is available in the 2.8/
On February 16th I ordered some foam from their website ucsolutions. I did receive an email with the order number. My credit card was charged. The ucsolution website is no longer there. I did find another website urbancastlesolutions with the same phone number, but the number will not connect. DO NOT order from this company. It may be a scam.

QUESTION: My friend has exact cushions you demonstrated. HOWEVER - back cushions are attached to back of the couch. Along the top back, and inner side - there are (2) cushions. There is a zipper along the bottom. You think I could get foam up in there, being they're attached at those two places? ALSO, depth of each cushion is 6 inches. Height is 21" x Width is 39". I think I could trace a pattern from existing cushion. Cut the foam. Line with Dacron. Sew a slip cover for ease of sliding in. I still might have to wrap in SilkEase and use a vacuum to squish it down enough to slip it into the cover. I like a challenge, but even I'm not sure I'm ready for this one. What do you think? I am a home sewer, but like to help friends and family when I can.
Well, it seems like you guys are off of RU-vidChan...did you continue somewhere else? I have a question? Can I reupholster the front and arms of a couch without ripping the entire couch apart? I appreciate an answer from anyone, really. Thanks.
Can foam be ordered from you. If so, what’s your online address? Know that your videos are great! I appreciate your demonstrations, suggestions, and insights. Thanks for posting.
Hoping to learn what to do with the corners, I watched three videos where they just stuffed fabric in a wad and stapled over it, saying things like "oh, the frame will cover that." Thank you first for showing how a craftsman would do it. And thank you second for caring about production values. The head camera was a win! You aced this, sir.
Thank you. This video helped me decide on the firmness level I need for your mattress. Can you please tell me why a solid wood bed frame won’t work for your organic latex mattress? Please reply so I can order during your sale today. Thank you.
hi, do you ship internationally ?.....and how does the 10-year warranty work ?.....lastly, do you compress foam squares of 22'' x 22'' before shipping ?
I am in the process of cleaning out an old shed ... and found a treasure of an old piano stool long forgotten 1920s... it's tattered cover was of once fine linen.. but now soiled. Everyone said "Throw it out"... but I shan't. I have to restore it (recover it) and breath new life in it... So very glad to have found your video... Thank you so much...
I just did a bench last night- struggled a those corners! Now I see my error was stapling too close to the corners before I tested my pleat! The fabric was too thin to remove staples. UGH! Thanks . Now I get it . Especially like that tool idea . Extra explanation is good for newbies . Disregard the criticism. Appreciate it !
I'm 6'5" 265 lbs. and I am looking to refurbish my sofa with a very firm seating to deal with some back issues. My sofa has three (3) seat and three (3) back cushions. All cushions are equipped with zippers which should make replacing the foam easy...I think?? What foam would you suggest for the seat & backs cushions ?? I'm so serious about finding a solution to this firmness problem that I'm considering re-stablizing the sofa internal "zig-zag" springs with jute webbing.
One additional question to my comment below, Can I run my fabric perpendicular to the width, then I would be able to make it the entire width of my 76" and 96" couches? There is a multi-line pattern in the fabric and if I did this, my cushions, back, and front would have horizontal lines; is this common/ok to do?
Thank you for making this video, I am almost to the point where I am going to order the couch video and start my teardown. My only question is my fabric is 54" wide, but my couch is 76 inches wide. Do I have to sew together to make the width fit the back, inside back, and front (no skirt)?
The thing is the “bad example” cushion is more what i want my current back cushions are made of foam and so uncomfortable i want them to be much less rigid is there a case or solution for that?
