8 years later and it still feels like yesterday🥲 I was a freshman in high school. My pops grew up a life long cubs fan being able to meet Mr. Cub at my grandpas grocery store. I will never forget the day, the sight, and even the smell🥲 GO CUBS GO
I remember attending games at Wrigley that year and never heard it so loud- especially against the Cardinals. A lot of fun. Was wondering if Travis Wood's catch in left was included lol
There will never be another Cubs season quite like this one. It was pure magic. Every game was memorable. The team had so much character. It was reminiscent of the 90s era Bulls teams. Thank you to everybody that made this happen and to all of us Cubs fans that waited our whole lives for it. It was well worth the wait. The greatest game ever played was on a Thursday in Cleveland. 💙❤️
This season took a lifetime of heartbreak and heartache from soooo many, including me! Such a magical season! No one can ever take it away! I love my World Series Champions and I love my Cubbies! A magnificent year of domination!🙏🇺🇸🤩🎊🎉
This was a great video. What can you say. I live in LA but, I do not like the dodgers one bit. My favorite team was the national league vs the dodgers. In about 1988/89 I was told I need to pick a team. I asked which teams were considered the underdogs of the league at that time. It was the red sox and The Cubs. I went with The Cubs and the rest is history. through the ups & downs I thought the best chance The Cubs had was when they were in the series with the marlins. Although when bartman caught that ball I knew instantly the darkness was coming and it did. This whole season felt so different than past seasons. The Cubs played there hearts out they believed in one another they did not give up. They had this air about them that they were going to win it all! The World Series begins. Splitting one in cleveland I felt The Cubs were on the right track. After losing 2 in Wrigley hope was dwindling. Getting game 5 and (no next season) I was hopeful. Game 6 was AMAZING! Lastly we get to Game 7. I had to work (should have called off) I had the score on the computer. Cubs went up but, let cleveland creep back. I was racing home to catch the end of the game. That rain delay helped me get home. I raced to the TV just in time to catch the top of the 10th. The Cubs went up by 2 and I was going crazy! Then cleveland got a run back. That last ground out I saw KB slip thinking uh oh this might go in the dugout and it might not happen. That was not the case! I was jumping up and down and running around the house like a kid! When I stopped I fell to the ground and had tears in my eyes! I will never forget November 2nd 2016!!! hoping they can do it all again before I go home but, really I can go home with some peace that the team I picked all those years ago are no longer the lovable losers They are 2016 World Series Champions and no one can take that away!!!!!! Go Cubs Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a magical season….thank God they won Game 7. I had to pay attention to remember the games I attended that season; I think it was 7-8. Russell’s slam I remember being there. I was there when Chapman made his first appearance. When Russell made a diving catch. When Rizzo hit two against Bartolo Colon; probably more highlights if I can remember
My grandfather, my father and I are lifelong Cub fans. Three generations watched every WGN televised Cubs game that we could. My grandfather passed away October 27,1976 and 4O years later, my father and I watched these Cubs finally win another World Series in 2016. Thanks for a great video reminder. Watching it brings joyful tears to my 58 year old eyes all over again. #Cubsfan4life
Watching this in 2022 and Opening Day is a couple days away and only three players are still on the roster from this team… :/ (Heyward, Contreras, and Hendricks) :( There will not be another team like this one in Cubs History
