Kent was the kingdom of the Jutes, not Saxon! The Jutes were allied to the Franks and the Carolingian kingdom on the continent. Therefore the more "civilized" aspects like grain storage is not surprising! Jute graves often have Frankish objects!
Canterbury was in the kingdom of the Jutes not the Saxons! After the Jutes the Vikings controlled Kent, then the Normans! Odd no attempt to pursue Jute archeology? Jute burials are distinct from Saxon with many Frankish objects!
Esta pelea está aogo deslucida y para mi gusto le falto algo de agresividad asi es dificil que siendo retador te den la pelea por puntos. Tenés que ver la pelea Toro vs Nigel Benn, para mi gusto el toro se lucio más en esa.
I'm biased no doubt, but I don't think Collins gets the credit he deserved. He beat Benn (he's 32 here I think, may not have been his best, but not like he was completely passed it?), and also defeated Eubank (His first loss). He faced Mike McCallum whom everybody, including some of the 80s greats, were too wary of to fight at that time (1990). Shame he did not fight Calzage (Collins' decision to retire, Calzage had 20 fights at the time not known how great he would be) or never got the Roy Jones Jnr. fight. Couragous fighter, 6 defences not bad in a good era.
What a showman Mr Eubank was and still is In his extravagant clothes and monicle He d had about 14 defences of the supermiddleweight crown Losing to Steve Collins who had a hypnotist
He was a showman for sure and very good but also very lucky in at least 4 of his defences, V Watson 1, Benn 2 and Close twice, as for your Comment about Collins having a Hypnotist? This was all part of the game, Collins beat him well in the 1st fight and comprehensively 2nd time, a fight I was at and Collins was just too good for him, he'd been found out plain and simple. As a fight fan, I'm privileged and proud to say I saw Eubank fight but I will always remember how lazy lackadaisical and arrogant he was and how he reckoned he had the God given right to win fights once it went the distance. Boxing doesn't work like that.
@Dawei Lee Hi Dawei Lee , you know your stuff although I disagree with you about them 3 fights , Watson 1 , which I think Eubank got lucky here , he was being dominated totally in their 2nd fight , wasn't even close until that devastating but brilliant uppercut changed everything late on . I just think Benn was ripped in their 2nd fight at Old Trafford , I felt he deserved that one but 2 cracking fights just the same , the 1st Collins fight is closer for sure but once again , Eubanks lazy style cost him against a much busier opponent but there is 1 instance in this fight that sticks with Eubanks fans and I fully understand this . I think it was the 2nd round , they exchanged blows with Eubank catching Collins who lunged forward , losing his footing almost , the Referee had his back to it so couldn't call a knockdown , which could have made a difference for sure but for me it was a slip , and would have been a very harsh call . If Eubank had have got a draw or a close PTS win that night , there is absolutely zero chance he'd have fought Collins again , thats for certain . A lot of people don't know this but Collins wanted to fight both Eubank and Benn much sooner, they didn't want to know and would have gladly went through their careers not fighting him , they fought him because they had to , take care, all the best .
@Dawei Lee Just to add Dawei , just have a look back at the end of the 10th rd , where Eubank had scored a knockdown 10-8 rd , as he was sat on his stool , Ronnie Davis , his trainer , can be clearly heard saying to him " you need to knock him out Chris " there was just 2 rds left here , for me they shared these but I had Collins ahead by about 3-4 PTS at the start of the 10th rd and had him winning by 2 PTS in the end .
I remember the fights Chris had with ray close I thought he'd won the first lost the second a very close shave I went to Tottenham for the Watson fight went the result was announced fights broke in the crowd and chairs were thrown it was in September 1991 quite chilly
