Sweet revenge for losing the final game at the old Wembley Stadium 1-0 on the 7 October 2000. England's goal frenzy, September 1st 2001 Olympiastadion in Munich, Germany
The same team also was the worst German team in post-war history playing a woeful euro 2000 (1 draw, 2 losses). No one in Germany knows how they stumbled in the final of '02. They had three consecutive 1-0 wins against lesser teams (Paraguay, USA, South Korea) in the knock out stages. Probably due to Kahn playing out of his mind until the blunder in the final. So they weren't that good either...But props to England for a convincing win.
Even the commentators were better back then let alone the players the passion you hear just listening to this while commentators today just sound like robots
I remember this night well, I was a 28yo in a pub with my mates, we had been in since lunchtime getting hyped for the game, after the game the place was fuckin rockin man, everyone was on the tables stamping out the theme to the great escape with their feet, what a night!!!!!
I saw this in Scotland in a pub. It was great that Germany scored first and all the German supporting Jocks showed themselves. They had faces like slapped cods at the end, it was wonderful. Seeing all the Germans leaving the stadium before the end just put the cherry on the cake and then they had to go to a freezing (-10C) Ukraine in a playoff. They made it to the 2002 final knocking out the "soccer gaints" Paraquay, USA and South Korea to get to the final and got smashed by Brazil who had knocked out England in the quarter final with a fluke goal.
+eric tull I doubt that was as sweet as winning the last competitive game between the two at wembley, which Scotland won 1- 0. Of course, perhaps it was even sweeter for Scotland when you decided to play another game against your other arch enemies, the Germans, which of course they won 1- 0. Nah, I doubt anything could match what the pubs were like when Scotland beat England 1- 0 in what was supposedly the last game at Wembley. I doubt you can get even close.

I still remember Alan Ball flicking the ball onto his back next to the corner flag and held it there as if to say 'Watcha gonna do now Jock' when England smashed Scotland 5 -1 in 1975. I was young but it was unforgetable. And then we had Gazza's flick. Oh the memories.
So European Championships Wales - qualified N Ireland - Qualified Repubic of Ireland - Qualified England - Qualified with full points (despite having to play the team rated 4th in the world at the start of the games) ERM??? I left a gap Even Albania qualified
Sparkledash1 We taught you how to beat the masters in football! Being German you just improved it!. Both games are my favourites to watch, because no-one expected the results. Bis Bald.
Amazing how Germany, after suffering such defeat in 2001 managed to bounce to final in 2002. After another horrible show in 2004, they totally reworked their football system and today we see the result of their hardwork and planning. Question now is, can England's FA and public do their own rework on English football? Or they gonna keep blaming Steven Gerrard, Rooney and Lampard for England's failure in 2014?
It wasn't that amazing. Germany had an unprecedented easy run to the final. First good team they played beat them easily. If Italy hadn't been cheated out of their match against South Korea by Fifa corruption, they would have beaten Germany in the semi at a canter. (Germany simply cannot beat the Italians.)
KaitainCPS yes Italy beats us every time but we still own england Italy is a 4 time world champion beside Germany and Italy there is just Brazil these 3 countries have 13 out of 20 worldcups and by the way cheating what about 1966 it would be 14 out of 20 ...and we just started in18 ... 4 time nr 1 4 time nr 2 4 time nr 3 1 time nr 4 that means 13 out of 18 times we played the semifinals we won 8 times lost 4 times now what about england 1time nr 1 and 1 time nr 4 thats it
Onmysheet Ha ha. No they weren't. They couldn't even score against Brazil. England managed that. Germany looked clueless. "And they held off a brilliant USA and South Korea." Please repeat that sentence to yourself, several times.
Funniest thing about this result was that Germany had to cancel their pre-WC friendlies. They simply assumed they were going to win this game and top the group. They got absolutely dismantled. 1-5 at home! AT HOME! That is an absolute beating.
yes and you´re holding to this and one wc win nearly 50 years ago because you don´t have anything more to be happy about.. you are not better than greece.. even in 50 years they are going to cheer about their 2004 win of the ec... and so do you with your little funny triumphs decades ago.. have fun, tonight we are going to get our fourth star :)
***** Whatever a football team does or doesnt do isnt something that makes a difference to 99.999999999% of the planet. So get a life. Its just a sport sunshine. Just look at Brazil. 5 stars and still a toilet of a country except for the excellent female eye candy on the beach which I rate more highly than something you can cheat to earn.
aeonflux67 very well.. germany 4 stars and a great country to live in :) difference is: for brazilians football is live.. for us its the highest form of amusement
That's because Germany didn't beat anyone good until the final - Saudi Arabia, Paraguay, USA and South Korea? We need Argentina and Denmark along the way and got Brazil in the quarters.
Germany won 4 World cup titles Germany won 3 European cup titles In all, Germany has participated in 8 World cup finals, plus 6 European cup finals, which means 14 finals all together. It is the most decorated and the most determine team in the history of the World cup. Can anyone tell me how many times England won the World Cup beside 1966, or perhaps how many times England won the European cup/s? After the humiliating 7-1 win over Brazil, it would have been very harsh on Germany if they'd lost this game. They play a faster and more aggressive brand of 'tiki-taka' football and although they were at times, unconvincing in earlier matches, especially in the group stages, they saved their best until last. German football is on a different planet in terms of development of coaches, training facilities, producing world class talent etc. so I wouldn't be surprised if they won the Euros or the next World Cup, they're that good and could take some stopping. If England are ever going to have a hope in hell at a major tournament, they need to ship out all the foreign players. Full stop. I will simply died for the Manschaft. God bless the Manschaft.
Adicka Adooki Well it was more than 13 years ago, and this game was only during qualifying compaign for the world cup 2002, which Germany did go all to the final. England had many insulting games if one compare to the mighty Germany. Look who is the current world champion in football.
No, the second goal was scored in the 3rd minute of added time at the end of the first half. The third goal was was 3 minutes after the second half kick-off.
GrammarOGs I knew it was after half time, I was just pointing out that that the 3rd goal was scored with more minutes on the clock than the second goal.
Jessie James Low Liverpool, y'know, the team that just beat Spurs 5-0 at White Hart Lane and got AVB the sack. Y'know, Liverpool Football Club? The Greatest Football Club in the World. With the Greatest History and Heritage in English and European football. The Club with one of the best young squads in football, that are going to dominate for years to come, with one of the most admired strikers in World Football, The dynamic and Gifted Luis Suarez. Football Clubs want him, Footballers want to be him. If Gareth Bale cost £90million, Suarez must be worth £100million. Y'know, Liverpool?
Well two years later Germany came into the Finals and were again was England ? Cheer and celebrate this Victory for England. , it was just a qualifying Match ! The Important matches 1990 WC , 1996 EC & 2010 WC who again won These , your absolutly right. , Germany it was ! Your Team is already eliminated from the WC 2014, Face it and be honest they Played crap , were was Rooney , totally overrated English Player !
Germany had the easiest-ever run through to the final (Paraguay, USA, South Korea) and were fucking shit all the way through. The only thing anyone remembers about them is Kahn's good goalkeeping. Germany were garbage. England were the second-best team in the tournament, and simply ran into the best team at the QFs. This England team was MILES better than Germany. And it wasn't "two years later", you goof, it was nine months later.
Yeah as Titan points out Germany were fucking shit in 2002 and got an incredibly easier run to the final, other than the 8-1 against a mostly amateur/semi professional Saudi Arabia and a 2-0 win vs Cameroon, Germany didn't score more than 1 goal in any other game, 1-1 vs Ireland, 1-0 vs Paraguay, 1-0 vs US, 1-0 vs South Korea and then 0-2 to Brazil in the final, other than Brazil you played very average opponents and your GK was your player of the tournament.
lanlodger They did win in their own back yard in 1974. (Strange final, though; the Dutch outplayed the Germans throughout yet somehow lost, helped in part by a very dubious penalty.)
Since 1966 germany won 3 world cups and 3 euros, they knocked england out in 4 occasions without winning a trophy and won in 3 occasions having knocked england out in a quarter final, and 2 semi finals and in euro 96 they lifted the trophy in england's home turf, While to the english this is the high point of there national team!!! , This kind of mentality is what makes the english team a joke, Enjoy this win england fans , germany has won 3 euros and 3 world cups. heh
Ah and still dont forget Germany Beat England 2 Times in England ! In Old Wembley Remember Hamann from Liverpool with his over 30 Meters Shot ! And in the New Wembley England löst again 2:1 by Goals from Kuranyi & Hammermann Panda! So who gives a Shit that England won in Munich 5:1 , the Important Matches England Most of the Time Lost agains Germany , WC90 , EC 96 we won in Wembley and 2010 we stomped over England which had the better Team back than ! So what so you say to that my dear English Fans ! You know that the Premier League is the best League in the World but your National Team is crap ! Were is Englands Youthwork ? You have to many Foreigners playing at English Top Clubs ! Germany also had the Problem , but Look were they are now ! The only Thing we still havent got is a WC Titel ! 2014 was the worst WC for England they hadnt been so Bad for 56 years !
Cant help but remind you that England isnt actually a country. Its one quarter of a country which is Great Britain. Due to the tribal nature of that country it competes in EC and WC as 4 x teams. I would imagine GErmany broken into 4 teams would be somewhat struggling. As it is you are recruiting Poles (Klose and co), Turks (Oezil), Ghana (Boateng) or whatever he is...etc etc. Hitler would be spinning in his grave at the rate the Master race is relying on the rest of the world to protect its football rep over the last decade. Oh what the hell heres the list: Albania Enis Alushi, Faton Toski Angola Nando Rafael Assyria Daniyel Cimen Brazil Kevin Kuranyi, Paulo Rink The Congo Kosi Saka Croatia Thomas Brdarić, Sreto Ristic England Aaron Hunt Ghana Gerald Asamoah, Kevin-Prince Boateng, David Odonkor Greece Ioannis Masmanidis Iran Ashkan Dejagah Italy Massimilian Porcello, Giuseppe Reina Netherlands Willi Lippens Nigeria Patrick Owomoyela Poland Adam Bodzek, Christoph Dabrowski, Paul Freier, Miroslav Klose, Lukas Podolski, Eugen Polanski, Lukas Sinkiewicz, Horst Szymaniak, Piotr Trochowski, Ernest Wilimowski, Dariusz Wosz South Africa Sean Dundee Spain Mario Gomez Switzerland Oliver Neuville Tunisia Mounir Chaftar Turkey Mehmet Akgün, Mustafa Doğan, Malik Fathi, Mesut Özil, Mehmet Scholl Ukraine Eugen Bopp USA Jermaine Jones
Thomas Hanel The problem with our national team is they would rather play for their clubs than country. I don't understand it, they are rich enough. You would think the greatest achievement in football would be putting on your nation's shirt & scoring the winning goal. The teams I watched when I was a little kid was back in 1986 & since we're great for a few years here & there. But the last 10 years are just depressing. Bunch of selfish cunts.
@pugsley141: "facist"? As in, being the faciest? Like, related to his face? Sorry, being a German I am a Grammar Nazi of course. No need to thank me, I know this is the kind of humour that rocks your boat since it got the words "German" and "Nazi" in one sentence. :) Anyway, enjoy your single WC trophy and a win in a qualifier. Meanwhile we are looking forward to you bottling the next WC or EC. Oh, and don't mention the penalty shoot-out (it's always a highlight seeing you fail and cry). ^_^
1st Michael Owen = Liverpool 2nd steven Gerrard = Liverpool 3rd Michael Owen = Liverpool 4th Michael Owen = Liverpool (assisted by Gerrard aswell) 5th Heskey = Liverpool Though it wasnt just Liverpoo'sl it was largley down to those players.
Iam from England and although this is a fantastic result fir any englishman, what have we done since? Germany are well and truly the football super power.
As much as I love this I realised two things the Germans were playing crap and it definitely wasn't the Germans best ever team but we played fantastic as well and at the end of the day we got an amazing result
@CL0WN92 That's true. If Rio Ferdinand hadn't been injured and John Terry hadn't been moved out of position and had those revelations been kept secret we would have had a very strong defence and we would have never conceded goals especially the first one which was abysmal. If Lampard's goal went in the Germans would have been shitting themselves as England were all over them for ages. Also England would not have pushed up as much to get the third goal so they would have been less open at the bak
@SuperBayern1994 england may have not won the war by themselves but we all know who lost...anyway that's the past. The English Premiership is the most exciting league in the world with the most money invested in it and some of the world's best players. That's why it is the most watched league in the world; it is fast paced and highly physical. If it weren't that entertaining more people would watch Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A ETC.
And just tell me how many times have we had the availablity of playing on our home soil? ONCE!! A lot less than Germany!! And IDK where you get irregular goals from! They all looked fine to me on the replays and I watch football week in week out! LIVE!!
All this talk and rule that if a player is offside but he does not "interfere" with play it is not offside. That's FIFA's rubbish. Even though the offside player is not "interfering" with play his position affects the defender(s) because they have to go cover him thereby not being able to go cover the other defenders because they have to play to the whistle. This means that the offside player is interfering with play as he draws other defenders to him by his offside position.
BUMBA CLOT You know you're shit at football when you have to bring up a war from 70 years ago just to distract from the fact that you're an embarrassment on the field.
Germany it has to be said were on a serious decline at the time of this defeat. The decline had set in soon after 1998 after they lost to Croatia in the QF of the World Cup. Yes, they had a slight peak at the World Cup in 2002 when they got to the final but this was papering over some very serious cracks and the DFB knew it. It is why they invested in their grassroots around 2000, which is now why we are seeing the likes of Ozil, Goetze, Gundergan, Reus, Mueller etc coming good.
Yes, from the word 'association', as in association football, so what? Soccer is an abbreviated word,to replace 'football' despite the fact that both have the same number of syllables. Why? Exactly, there is no point to it, and that is why Australian and American "soccer" teams are the retirement homes for when the rest of the worlds' footballers get too old to be of a decent enough standard to compete in any other place except the US or kangaroo world.
Wow this is a terrible video about a match that doesn't even matter. England is just trying to find games where they beat Germany because there are so few. Clearly Germany is better at soccer than England and they have been better for the past 60 years for most of the time, even though the English invented the sport. Not to mention Germany made up for it by beating England 4-1 in a match that really counted (2010 World Cup).
around this time was definately the best england have been in my lifetime, in 2002 we were unlucky to come up against brazil who were also great the time in the quarter final, could've gone either way, think we would've beaten any of the other quarter finalists. 2004 we were still an exciting team when you look back, lost on penalties as usual but even then we weren't that bad at penalties just portugal were exceptional. 2006 and since we've never been the same though.
Before the last world Cup Spain had never even got into a semi final except in 1950. Yet nobody ever goes on about how much of a disappointment they are. My point was that England are actually a very good football nation (better historically than spain); we have just lost on the day to very good sides. Like Spain, perhaps suddenly we will get a spike of talent and cohesiveness, win 50 games in a row and win 3 major championships in a row. You can never tell
Everyone says that England are a shit football nation. Yet we have a winning record against every single country except for Brazil, Italy, Romania and Uruguay. and the last three have only beaten us once more than we have beaten them. Against: Spain - Played 23 Won 12 Drew 3 Lost 8 Portugal - P23 W9 D10 L3 Netherlands - P19 W5 D9 L5 GERMANY - P28 W12 D5 L11 Argentina - P14 W6 D6 L2 France P28 W16 D4 L8 Overall Played 918 Won 516 Drew 219 Lost 173. Not bad for a 'shit' footballing nation
Though I have no idea what you are blabbing about, I do think America could give Europe a run for their money if not win that said war. Second, the fact that you said you are better than us at all sports made me laugh...You guys are HARDLY better than us at football. Who tied us 1-1 in the last WC? England hasn't done shit in major tournaments and the ONE time you guys did you had a bias ref! You all know damn well you should have lost '66. Don't even get me started on any other sport..
this was the very last time i ever so england win "convincingly. we import to many over seas players (for instant success in theory) but the fa should put into place a 3 foreigner team members per squad and put into practice teaching young english lads ....because the english team /game is struggling. put it this way shall we ...more foreign players come here (for the mega bucks pay packets) than english players go abroad to play
There are British bases in Germany, Fallingbostel (that's where i'm based). We're not slaves to anyone (that's why we are an independent country not a protectorate). There are statistically more Americans in poverty than there are British. We can't use nuclear tech without permission from the British Prime Minister, same as the U.S can't use there's without permission from the President (bit of a shit statement really). Finally your ignorance makes me feel sad, anyway I need a cup of tea now.
You're not quite right, there were markedly different German players who played in both this game and the 2002 WC final. What happened inbetween this thrashing at the 2002 WC was the proper introduction of the new German generation of footballers with Klose, Frings & Metzelder. Annoyingly, Germany recieved further generations of new talent in 2006 (Schweini, Lahm, Podolski) and 2010 (Muller, Ozil, Neuer) and will continue to regenerate. Strangely, they still can't win anything. I'm English btw.
i thought we were quite good under hoddle too, and yes he was odd lol. i was sad to see venables leave cos he done well and we did play good football under him. however sven took us to 3 tournaments out of 3 and got us to the last 8 in all of them. im all honesty i cant see us doing much in the euros. i like hodgson but the players are not good enough, i find some of hodgson selections for the sqaud puzzling too
One of the worst teams Germany ever had. A time we don't really had talented players looking jealous to France, England, Brazil etc.for being gifted with fantastic players. Especially J. Löw was right giving young talents in Germany a chance and let them play. The English Premier League is very attractive but a lot of playing positions are given to foreign players you cannot use in your National Team. I hope England will do better this year. If Germany fails I am going with the Three Lions. :)
@MothandMoon Dude you obviously dont know how Germany role... when it comes to the qualifying matches they play crap and only win the matches that will make sure they will get into the World/European cup. They do this so that when they actually get into the tour, no body knows their real strengths and weaknesses that well, and therefore the others do not know how to set up there team correctly... That is why Germany are so good at counter attacking, cos no body knows how Germany really role.
@loboherido91 yeah thats a statement i cant disagree with. tbh i dont really know how good Brazil are, their going through a funny period. Argentina and Uruguay have got the players but South America is an unforgiving climate for European teams. But its def Spain, Netherlands Germany etc for the Euros....... thank god really cos i get f**ked off with the hype surrounding England to the extent that i dont bother watching them anymore :(
@FernandoNINETorres did you see germany vs brazil today? their youngsters gave a great performance, even without ozil and khedira...it seems that after their loss in 2002 final and semis in 06 and 10...gemany mite very well take it in 14...the only team i can see standing in their way is spain and netherlands...i dont think south americans will do much unless messi and the argentines get their act together...heck germans are a the team to beat in the euro 2012 in my opinion
Trueinsanity: I agree, but I think the reason was that Beckham was not as physically fit at the time of both his World Cups as he should have been and as for Michael, he was plagued with injuries as well and Capello did not want him last time.. I have no time for Capello, I wish England had a different manager. I would have sacked him after the disgrace of South Africa: one of the worst displays ever of an England team. If we don't do really well in Euro 2012 he must go before the next WC.
I remember being in a London hotel watching this getting ready to go to the Hammersmith Palais school disco for the first time (their 2yr party). I was having 2nd thoughts but this scoreline washed away all self-concious feeling and the whole time queueing up to go in the club spent jumping and chanting with complete strangers in my old uniform! Inside were Rainbows Zippy George and Geoffrey DJing - I remember thinking it was all a dream and Id wake up and we'd have lost. Awesome night!
AbzPoo so most english don't care about the germans, when people on here is saying beating the germans is the best day of their lives, and all the english journalists say that it is such a massive rivalry, and that no one can get over a results from 10 years ago. I would say that means quite a lot of english people probably care about the germans if they cant get over a result from 10 years ago. and by the way 4-1 is bad.
@milllybob Far from it, the English (for the most part) - although dislike is probably the wrong word I'm still going to use it - dislike the Germans, it always has been that way and probably always will. So when a game like this comes up, we see it as a rivalry match. I'm not sure how the German population sees it but this is probably the biggest rival match for the English in International Football.
Such a legendary game, it's always nice to get one over on the Germans. Unfortunately now our team is poor and doesn't perform well at all, so it's nice to look back to when our country was a major player in the World of Football. There have been times when Germany have had the better side, and times when England is superior, but it must be said that both Nations are Footballing titans. Looking forward to our next clash, whenever that will be.
@DaStyler33MG You know I'm glad you said that. I'm very fond of German Players like Müller, özil, Khedira, Gomez, Schweinstieger and more. Once Klose retires i will be bitterly upset as he's been such a great striker for so many years. Yeah I think we should get more young home-grown players to play for us. Even 17 Year Olds do the trick! Becks for Manager? Any Day! Greets Jaz from Eng.
you know what: the 4-1 MORE than makes up for this AND 1966! :) doesn't hurt a bit to watch this as a german. seriously. not anymore! england beat jancker, boehme, rehmer, linke and such back then. the low point of german football. germany beat england's so called golden generation 2010. with 5 players who won the european U21 title the year before. oh, and fun fact: even after this loss in 2001 germany reached the world cup FINAL in 2002! what has england done lately?! :)
Sheesh! It always surprises me just how bitter and angry these fans of Germany really are. No-one can defend England for just how badly they played in South Africa, but the majority of insults and shit flinging are from the Germans. All I seem to hear about is "Revenge for 66!" and such. That's a long grudge to bear. Germany were the better team without a doubt, but a little humility from their fans and the odd player showing signs of arrogance wouldn't hurt.
These have to be the dumbest arguing points ever. It is what it is, England lost, arguably due to the miss call on Lampard, but this is unrelated to World Wars and all the other shit that people are fighting. I'm not happy that England lost (I was rooting for them to win the World Cup) and had the Lampard goal counted it could have been different, but this pointless fighting is stupid and won't change the result, so everyone calm down seriously.
@MothandMoon Maybe we had the easier route at this WC, but on the end of all there stand in the history a second place for Germany! Ask you why we have three stars on our shirts and you had only one. And did you know a other fact. In 1966 England won against Portugal, Argentinia and Germany in the quarter, semi and final and after this england lose against these teams every time when they must face them in a WC. You will never be worldchampion agian, face it!
@Avillian136 Boring dude, boring! We lose, yes, but our soldiers fight bravely and the most soldiers werent nazis, they only fight for there comrads and for there family at home. and only for you the WW2 is over till 1945. Today we won a football match against England, nothing more and nothing less. Today german and british boys died side by side in Afghanistan, we are allies now! Try to be real english, be fair, learn from this defeat and try it agian the next time on EC!
It was well documented how much underachivers Spain were so I don't know where you get the idea that nobody goes on about how disappointing they were. However they have banished that now with three major tournament wins in a row. England these days are a quarter-final team, semi-final at best. They won't be emulating Spain's achievements anytime soon.
The only real weakness in this team was having no left winger. Everyone's primary role was to get the ball to Michael Owen, and we had Heskey, Scholes, Beckham and Gerrard doing just that. Good captain, cracking back four and keeper. England now lack that balance and focus. And Paul Scholes. Still, third in the world. Can't be doing that bad...
He's German. And this is a video about England versus Germany so he's quite within his rights to try and insult us. Personally I wouldn't let it bother you and enjoy Italy beating them right now (ok 2-0 up, let's find out if they can keep it going 2nd half!) Seriously, this is a football video, can we just for once try not to mention the fucking war?
The whole world.... Don't think so Germany had the bigger army even aggenst the Brits and Americans because Germany had Italy, Turkey, Russia (for some time befor they turned on each other) and countless other countries so don't act like it was just the Germans who fought of the world when really you didn't you tryed to take what wasn't yours and you know what karma's a bitch!!!
Back in the day when England had Scholes, who could pick a pass from 40+ yards and gave Gerrard a free role... Now he has Parker next to him who can't pick a pass and all he does is block shots and people seem to love him for it. If he wasn't caught out of position so many times he wouldn't have to dive about.
HAHAHA! The same USA that have lost every single war that we haven't backed them up in? The same USA that only came in right at the end?? - If USA were a football player, It would be John Terry. It takes all the glory for being part of the winning team despite doing fuck all to contribute all the way through. case closed.
Have to disagree with you. We don't need Gerrard in a defending role when we have Parker doing that. Two DM's stifles the team too much, they get in the defenders way and limit outlets to long balls or sideways passing. It's a tactic that's already fu**ed Holland up the arse, will screw us too if he continues with it.
The England team has a lot of great individual players. But when they play together the chemistry just isn't good enough and the passing is very bad:/ that said though, this was one of those gem matches where the England team finally managed to apply their talent to the game, something they don't do very often:/
Happy, happy days. A team totally committed.. As Motey said,a memorable performance. Beckham excellent in this match, made the goals. Very clever of SAF to sign Michael Owen for another year. He (Michael) still has lots of vital goals in him. A pleasure to watch, if only England could be like this now. Capello should always have him in his squad.
@MothandMoon The Tonis comment was stupid, forget the fucking wars. English clubs are just playing in the Euro Finals because of arabian money. If you want to compare German and English football remember Germany '06, Austria '08 and South Africa last year(4-1!! :D)... And now i dont want to insult England but i have to say German football is beautiful!!
i am not a fan of england, but i think if the second goal of england had been counted then the final result wolud have been changed.... i hate german soccer team... they always are lucky... remember their rout to 2002 final... however, they did nothing in 2006.... in their home, italy defeat germany, i love Italy.... germany is nothing..... hahaha....
soccer is an brutal anti-english sport! the english have never luck in soccer they always lose against their greatest rivals like germany portugal argentina or brazil in world cup games! why they dont say finally "screw soccer" and play more robust sports like american football or rugby and so on who the english people have more quality and can play it so much better?! why?!
@Avillian136 You mean the americans did this for you! But right, the allies won the war and this was good so! But don´t mention the war, we talk about football here. By the way, did you still live in a british empire? HAHAHA, we lose the war, yes we do, but you english lose this war too. The only different thing is, we know that we lose and you still thinking you won!
Nope, England fluked Spain in 1996. Watch the replay on RU-vid and see why. The Spanish are still bitter about it. Getting a lucky 1966 goal in winning a World Cup is a pretty major piece of luck. Your luck analysis is way overblown. Germany are a very good side.
Won a friendly in 2008. And this proves what? Had Lampard's goal stood they would have won in 2010? And you know this because...you're a fan? Yes, that makes sense. I guess you can't be arsed to try and recall the amount of times England have been lucky? I don't blame you. Keep the delusion.
