I think the overlord is more like a force of nature, I do not believe he is fsm’s brother because he is immortal as fsm is not he lived for hundreds of thoyghsands of years I believe but not immortal like the overlord. Also the overlord is so immortal that if he “Dies” he just comes back eventually. The overlord exists purely to keep the balance of light and shadow. When fsm left the the first realm because he knew the fight between oni and dragon would never end he went to the endless sea aka ninjgo and defeated the shadow aka water / air dragon and mostly used creation. There was too much light and therefore shadow formed in a being of darkness that can destroy and create in the actions contributing to darkness which contrasts fsm’s ability to use creation and destruction and action to use them in balance for light and the way they use them perfectly parrele while being opposites!! Lloyd still has to fight the overlord and other powerful beings. Honestly the ninja need more help to keep the world in balance 😅
Great theory but it can’t be the FSM is part oni and part dragon if they were to be related then it would make him and oni the golden master needed to wear the golden armor and oni are weaken by it so it doesn’t makes sense good theory tho…
Theory Imagine The FSM was a god to the Islanders and the FSM shadow was alive and got fed up he didn’t get treated like the FSM so when the FSM visited the Islanders the FSM shadow took over the body of a Islanders dragon and quickly escaped to the other side of Ninjago and called himself the Overlord
If each generation is going to have a good and evil, then I hope we see something we’re one side feels like this is their prepose and nothing more to just make sure the balance is still there, or for the evil side to not want to be the villain and so tries to swap powers with their counterpart.
This theory actually makes a lot of sense the 2 beings being brothers, both Oni-Dragon Hybrids with one being similar to an Oni in body but having the morality and using mostly the same powers as a dragon while the other has a body similar to a Dragon but acts similar and primarily uses the powers of an Oni, with the 2 brothers also being mortal incarnations of light and darkness, good and evil, prospority and surfering, Yin and Yang in-order to represent the balance and insure that the balance of good and evil will continuin to go on as long as they live
There's the theory of it just being the evil of FSM which he cast aside, I feel like maybe someday Lloyd may finally defeat him for good, perhaps by merging the Overlord with himself in order to restore TRUE balance and unlike the FSM he manages to keep his evil side under wraps, this could be why they had Garmadon training him to control his 'Oni side' as it would teach him later how to tame his dark side so he could merge the Overlord with himself to forever keep their souls intertwined.
The First Spinjitzu Master is Half Oni and Half Dragon, being born of both he becomes the Balance. But in season 9 we can see that the FSM leans towards his Dragon side since he has made a friend in First Born. Also that he always has a dragon symbol on his Robes. So when he left the First Realm and Defeated the Water Serpent then Created Ninjago. Then the FSM started to fear his Oni side and tried to reject it and expel it but failed, Creating the Overlord. (The Overlord being the Rejected Oni side of the FSM was supposed to be revealed in Crystallized but was unfortunately cut, but we have enough proof to make it canon with out the reveal.) The Overlord has the Powers of Oni and Dragon just like his predecessor the FSM, but unlike how the FSM is both but Leans Dragon. The Overlord is both but Leans Heavily Oni. That also explains why the Power of Darkness and Golden Power seem to be equal. Golden power comes from being Oni and Dragon but when you lean more Dragon, then Darkness when you lean Oni. So when the FSM temporarily stopped the Overlord Ninjago needed a new darkness to counter all the light, so the FSM first born is Very Heavily Oni (Garmadon) but to counter the more Oni presence the Second born (WU) was born heavily Dragon. But with Garmadon being the son of the FSM and leaning heavily Oni made him the perfect vessel for the Overlord to posses and return in, Which he does in Ninjago season 2 episode 25. Plus the Overlord having a Dragon form in season 2 episode 26 as proves my point of part Oni and Dragon. Then the Overlord being able to weld Golden power with his Darkness powers as the Golden Master in Season 3, it makes sense that it wouldn’t destroy him cause he’s just like the FSM Oni and Dragon. But let’s also talk about how the Overlord/Crystal King is fully compatible with the Oni Temple… and that his newest form looks very much Oni like. Plus Garmadon said that the only way to defeat an Oni is with another Oni, look at the only two characters capable of hurting the Crystal King. Garmadon and Lloyd and they both have the power of the Oni. They exploit that Oni weakness in the Crystal King. But let’s go back a bit … so the FSM eventuality died locked away under the sea in his tomb and now the Golden power needs a new host, now with the balance leaning dark with the Overlord slowly returning and with his future vessel Garmadon being Oni. Gramadons son Lloyd became the new chosen one with the ability to eventually become the USM and be able to use the Golden Power to defeat the Overlord and bring balance. All of this evidence justifies my belief of the Overlord being the rejected side of the FSM (which was supposed to be mentioned In Crystalized but was unfortunately cut) Soo to me it’s canon
But one thing i dont get in ur comment is, if garmadon get all the oni energy (the dark energy) because the FSM win over the overlord. Why even would someone need to fill this role (garmadon) i mean the overlord wasnt erased just "locked" his energy was caged but not gone. I guess. And if garmadon really get the leaning to the oni side and the dark energy because of the Balance "system". Then why had the overlord to manipulate him by let the snake bite him. Wouldnt it make more sense that the overlord just awakened with the snake more of the oni side in garmadon
@@kleinezeugs4719since the overlord gets banished into a separate realm every time he’s defeated, Shown in Crystalized. But him being banished to the Dark Island for the overlord is basically the same thing as that dimension, in both Season 2 and Crystalized WU mentions that in both scenarios the overlord can only return when the balance starts to fall and a lot of chaos happens and the universe needs a new Champion of the dark to start that, since the FSM has oni in him the balance would choose his first born son. But it lies dormant in him for years waiting for the moment where the Overlord possessed the Serpent and bite his hand awaking the dormant oni dark energy. Remember in season 2 the Overlord needed more evil to tip the balance so he could return and he knew having Garmadon would be the perfect tool to tip the balance in the Overlords favor. So the overlord can be finally freed
Random Ninjago thought, remember In the tournament of elements when Kai betrayed Chen and said that he forgot one element ,the element of surprise. Well he did actually forgot one and that's the element of water because nya did not know she was a master yet
There is a theory that the overlord is the oni side of the fsm that he cast out It’s backed up by the fact that he said to garmadon that his power (implying his oni powers) were a gift from him, he knew also new about the oni which if he was only created as the darkness to the fsm’s light he likely wouldn’t know The power which the overlord holds is referred to as the power of darkness which is either stated or implied to be the purest form of destruction, which would make him the opposite to the fsm’s power of creation which in it’s purest form could be light, just as Lloyd’s element of energy appears to be a less pure or potent form of creation.
I think this is fax because the first spinjitsu master have a humanoid form just like the oni and the overlord true form is a dragon just like the dragons now the oni and the drangon are enemies just like the ying yang.
When I said ying yang I meant that there is balance because if both the overlord and the master were dragons there will not be balance the dragons will be more shown
No like literally just no like did you watch it bro like the first spinjutsu master created Ninjago and then the overlord appeared on one side the dark side Why? Because it literally said in the show the first spinjitsu master was both dragon and one and basically light and dark like yin and Yang And since he was both light and dark Ninjago appeared as one side light and one side dark so of course a dark evil appeared on one side since part oni and the other side with nothing but light and it even said without dark there cannot be light so basically what I’m saying is The first spinjitsu master had a darkness in him which appeared on the other side ninjago since he’s oni and dragon light and dark Prove me wrong
Tbh this still could work evan when we know his goal was peace . His life was shaped by war and conflict between oni and dragon and this created his desire for peace , but i think that the theory that over worked with oni and master with dragons makes sense i think that it would make sense if it turns out they cocreated ninjago . Both combine creation and destruction but one is light the other is shadow . After ninjago was created they would have propably fall into conflict thus the ancient war .
Makes sense as (what's the dudes name) the first spinjitsu master is dragon who creates and worships peace while overlord is oni but the form of a dragon (he creates the devourere which in tern bites him) making him pure evil makes sense for them to be related as they both get both good and evil kids (wu garmadon the devourer garmadon (returns good) so yeah)
