18000ft is the transition altitude in the US and I believe the Caribbean. I know it’s that for the US and Canada. I think 17500ft is the warning before you hit it.

Hey captain! Love the stream and the 727! She is a true beauty to fly and quite tough to nail, but I'm loving the challenge! About getting your routes, do you use what simbrief gives you by default (i.e. plug in departure, destination, and aircraft and it will give the route), or do you manually select the route using skyvector or anything? Any tips on how to get an "Accurate 727 route" would be so much help!

All I've been waiting for in MSFS is more steam gauge airliners like this with an INS. This along with the coming 707 are going to be staple 👌

Though what I meant to type was LNAV, not VNAV. Hold short of the runway you can’t arm LNAV if you inadvertently forget (whoops) to engage the FO’s FD. It seems dual FD’s are required to be on to utilize LNAV on departure. But once in flight, LNAV will engage with a single FD engaged. I’m struggling on the logic. It makes sense that take-off is a critical stage of flight, so dual FD’s on makes sense. It also makes sense that an FD going INOP while in flight shouldn’t prevent LNAV utilization. But surely if you can depart with an FD INOP (which I believe is approved), the airline/plane/FAA would still want you to use LNAV.

I fly out of Essendon Airport in real life, and this controller getting frustrated at everyone's stupidity is killing me it's exactly like the real thing when there are a lot of student pilots in the airspace 😂My excitement for this 777 launch is beyond normal, I probably won't touch any of the other Boeings or Airbuses in my collection once this releases 😍 Also yes at YMML they normally give expanded rather than abbreviated taxi instructions. The standard from those D12-20 stands is "taxi via Alpha, Echo, holding point Papa runway 27." If you were going for 16 full-length as most heavies do, the standard is to taxi via alpha and hold short runway 27, then on alpha cross rwy27 taxi holding point bravo or Charlie rwy16. Preferred runway configuration at Melbourne is 16 arrivals, 27 departures. This is mainly for noise abatement. Preference is to always use both runways wind allowing as the movements per hour are significantly reduced with single runway ops, as on days with gusty northerlies where we go down to 34 only which is a nightmare. If it's a light northerly they setup 27 arrivals, with 34 for departures going north-east and 27 for all other departures.

Hello Captain! Have you ever tried the Horizon sim 787-9? I wonder if the trim is accurate. Could you check it as real life pilot please? First of all the trim the aircraft calculates on the ground is usually between 4-5 it shows in the outside view value of -40% or -50% trim - in my opinion this is wrong - I always counter that by setting it to "my trim" which is 6.5-7 - then the outside view instruments show -18 to -22 % of trim. With the trim original (calculated) value the aircraft climbs really rapidly and at some point the trim is so "strong" that even full forward pressure wont level up the aircraft. I fixed this my setting it to the 6.5-7 trim value like I said, but after take off if I just hit the trim up or down it seems that it resets set trim to the calculated trim and the aircraft climbs rapidly. I'm 100 % sure it is wrong, but unfortunately I'm not real pilot to be able to confirm. So if you have time. Could you take a look please at horizon sim 787-9 and do one take off and tell me if it is completely broken or accurate? Thanks.

Getting back to the sim following the family holiday. Glad you’re doing the Milkrun. I replicated it over a year ago, loved it. More recently flew into several of them in the Comanche on the world flight I completed just before holiday. FYI, the Wright Brothers Memorial was amazing.

Noticed how you can move the camera view from inside the cockpit and back into the cabin. Have you unlocked the view somehow? Because when I do the same thing, the view is locked where I can only move the view inside the cockpit
