Looking good! I remember when BMS was a lot quieter. That constant chirping drove me nuts after a few weeks. Been flying DCS for the past 5 years but the pilots don't have the same comradery like BMS and that I do miss... a lot! Cheers from the 801st TFW :)
That's such a broad generationalization isn't it? DCS having so many different communities and VFS that most certainly do things differently than the next. How about complimenting the people not making comparisons of the sims =)
Does the game not have a canopy anymore? If i remember correctly there was some kind of graphic or graphic effect which made you feel to be under a canopy. In your video it seems that your are sitting free under the sky :)
They should add it again. If i remember correctly that it was some light yellow/ golden tinted transparent texture which moved/ changed with you accordingly to your head movement. I really liket it that time. Can`t be too difficult for them to add it again. Even some kind of stripes which a lot older sims had would help the immersion a lot.
Wow, I haven't looked at falcon in many years but it looks waaay better than I remember. Do you have mods or something installed? your textures like the runways etc look miles better than I remember.
First, thanks for watching. This isn’t Falcon 4.0, exactly..😁 A group of developers have been working on this for many years for free. Check the link for BMS (Benchmark Sims) on my Channel for more info.
They just released the 4.37.4 which includes a new F-16 exterior model with PBR textures. The lighting and shaders seem to have improved in this update as well.
I really enjoy watching your videos. Please keep sharing them. I just started playing falcon bms and your videos had helped a ton. I was curious about your HOTAS and throttle setup, what do you use?
I have flown BMS thousands of hours. What makes the falcon great is not only the game but the players. They act and sound like really fighter pilots. Much respect.
Thanks for watching. I agree, it’s quite complex, it’s really a hobby more than anything 😁 A desire to want to know what makes it all tic. I hope you give it a try. And always have fun with the learning.
First is to purchase a copy of the original Falcon 4.0 from GOG or Steam. Not the Allied Force version. This is required for licensing purposes. Then head to the BMS website and download version 4.37 and subsequent updates. Depending on your flight sim experience, enjoy climbing the learning curve. There is the official forums and discord servers to help you along. Thanks for watching
Yours are some of the best BMS mission videos on YT. Great volume mixing and calm/chill narration. I really enjoy them, and I've learned a lot. Please keep uploading. :p
Thanks for kind words. Hope to have some more out soon. It's training season in the squad, and that's been taking most of my flying time. But we'll be back at it next month.
@@Quasi_Stellar5150 yeah its a very intense start, probably the most complicated Sim and it doesn't help theres not alot of videos on how to really get going but it is rewarding learning new things and I'll just have to slowly figure things out, so that I can eventually be able to fly around with people like you guys do!
@@mono666 Don't get discouraged. Search also for @aviationplus and @steviesgames for some really great content. Don't forget to check out the Falcon Lounge Discord to find many like mined pilots 🤘
ho wow....something i just noticed...the briefing does not reflect the correct future here. Basically it's taking the current loaded MAP (from the current time) and shift it from the global wind shifting for FORECAST . It does NOT load the fmap that are in the future.
Thanks for watching. I had used SDBs on the two previous flights to hit the SA2 and 3 sites. I had my wingman hit the towers at the airbases there as well. Slowing the Mig 21s. So…I wanted to do something a bit more fun and challenging than dropping bombs from space. Also, I wanted to do something with handoff. There had been an ongoing discussion on Falcon Lounge about that and using VIS/WPN page. I’m surprised they never fired on me.
Hello I was using VR and it looked great and now I'm just trying to basically use 2D with a regular cockpit and all I get is the upper HUD I am at a loss just to get to the regular 2D cockpit
First, thanks for watching. I appreciate that. I use head tracking and it’s been forever since using different ways to view the pit. If you are referring to the old snap views, I believe it was 2 on the keyboard. If I remember then you would use Shift Numpad to change views. The other way is 3 on the keyboard and holding right click on the mouse to look around.
Hello 👋🏻 Unfortunately, this hasn’t been a thing with BMS for many years. I believe since 4.34, when the developers created the new comms system. You’ll need to ask for picture regularly. If you include another flight in your package, like TARCAP, you will hear AWACS give them information.
Thank you! One question. When you do a 4 ship fenced in faor, bad weather or and at night, no datalink. How do you stay in formation and finde each other? The ai as wingman can do it, but as a human player?
Thank you for watching 👍🏼 keeping SA at night is difficult. In single player the AI knows where you are at all the times. In MP you have to keep your head about you. Without IDM, communication is key. Knowing your BE, what direction your heading, and altitude to deconflict. If you get tumbleweed, announce it to the flight and head to a known muster point to regroup and get your bearings. Bad weather departures are done with radar ties.
Just found ya! Been looking at getting into BMS and see you use Voice Attack. As a disabled gamer I use it a ton. How did you set up your profile for BMS, and if possible, could you please share it? I see BMS has a ton of key combos for the coms which I simply don't have the dex to press while actually flyin. Awesome stuff you got goin on, def gained a sub from me.
Thanks for dropping me a line. I use the AVCS4 profile for Voice Attack. It was created by SemlerPDX of the Veterans Gaming group. If you’re looking into BMS, just give it a try. Can’t beat the price if you find it’s not your thing.
@@Quasi_Stellar5150 I pulled the trigger and got it and the VAP; got most of my controls set up and fired up the bird from the ramp and gonna try an actual flight flight later. Been watching you and Prime a lot, is y'all's community open to newbs? Would like to try and find a group of people to fly with.
@@squwk7700by all means. We congregate on the Falcon Lounge on the Discord App. Check my channel info for an invite. Great community to help learn and be better virtual pilots 👍🏼
Thanks for watching. I’ve never used the VIP/VRP features. I’ve only ever used the OAs for simple line up help. Maybe I’ll stick my head in the book and learn something new. 👍🏼🍻
@@Quasi_Stellar5150 Maybe you'll have a better understanding of VIPs/VRPs than I: I tried a few practice runs . . . . and despite what I'd read, I couldn't make heads nor tails of what I was seeing in the MFD.
First of all, thank you for taking your time to watch 👍🏼 I have been using a profile call AVCS4 for several years. It was created by SemlerPDX and available on the Veterans Gaming site. VA is easy to get going. Make sure to go through the Windows Voice Recognition program at least 3 time. The more the merrier. The profile itself has a few processes to go through, but take your time and read the screen. I have an open mic don’t use PTT, but that’s available. The Veterans Gaming discord even has a channel devoted to it. Good luck and clear skies.
Hello. Thanks for taking the time to watch. I use Voice Attack with a profile created by SemlerPDX of the Veterans Gaming community called AVCS4. I've been using it for about 3 years and don't leave the hanger without it. Clear Skies
@@Quasi_Stellar5150 yea, just found that, looks very handy! I had used voice attack for elite dangerous, but hadn't thought to look for other advanced profiles - will need to look into avcs :)
