Falcon BMS 4.37 Tutorial | Fragging and Flying a Campaign Mission for Beginners

Howdy ya'll !!! This is a two part episode. In the first part I'll be showing new BMS pilots how to frag a quick single player Air Interdiction mission. We start by creating flights, adjusting timings and weapons, and then go into using WDP to create data sheets for use on kneeboard pages during the flight. The second part is flying and executing the mission while controlling AI wingmen to complete our task, all while keeping up with possible air threats. Hope you all enjoy the lesson and the flight.

Finally, a slow, easy to follow tutorial. New to BMS and overwhelmed with all the docs and lack of docs at the same time. WDP was confusing until now!

I'm Central Time in US, UT-5. I don't know all that about the best :) Hang around the Falcon Lounge long enough and you'll pick a good bit of knowledge and habits. I don't know if they are all good or bad though... LOL

great vid -- alot of people vids just start mid flight and have no context much of whats going on / whats the plan etc. --- plz do more -- maybe more a2g with laser guided and harm (wild wessesl) would be great but the key thing is the pre-planning part so have the context -- thanks!!👍 also the interaction how to use the AI pilots was cool!

Thank you for your kind remarks. To be honest, I've only used HARMs a few times in the past couple years. 😇 Going Wild Weasel with an AI wingman is quite difficult, and all the MP flights I've been in as of late have been some interdiction work. I'll see what I can pull out of my sleeve 🍻

Excellent video as always Quasi. Quick question - what voice recognition software/profile are you using? And how do you silence your own pilots voice? I’m looking to get my setup together for VR.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using Voice Attack with SemlerPDK's profile from the Veteran's Gaming site. Highly recommend it, as I've been using it for several years. Also, you can disable pilot voice in the UI setup under the Sounds tab.

Thank you! One question. When you do a 4 ship fenced in faor, bad weather or and at night, no datalink. How do you stay in formation and finde each other? The ai as wingman can do it, but as a human player?

Thank you for watching 👍🏼 keeping SA at night is difficult. In single player the AI knows where you are at all the times. In MP you have to keep your head about you. Without IDM, communication is key. Knowing your BE, what direction your heading, and altitude to deconflict. If you get tumbleweed, announce it to the flight and head to a known muster point to regroup and get your bearings. Bad weather departures are done with radar ties.

Hello I was using VR and it looked great and now I'm just trying to basically use 2D with a regular cockpit and all I get is the upper HUD I am at a loss just to get to the regular 2D cockpit

First, thanks for watching. I appreciate that. I use head tracking and it’s been forever since using different ways to view the pit. If you are referring to the old snap views, I believe it was 2 on the keyboard. If I remember then you would use Shift Numpad to change views. The other way is 3 on the keyboard and holding right click on the mouse to look around.

Check on the BMS forums for some possible solutions. Common ones are a need to update video drivers, make sure you have a sound device plugged in, and possible VR headset issues.. I’ve never personally had this problem. Good luck 👍🏼
