I think small deck matters most for upgrades and gambits, because you can kind of guarantee which card gets chosen if your deck is small enough. You could also do a speedrun if you haven't yet
I had a bunch of failed attempts as well. I'm considering making a compilation of these failed attempts. Is that something you'd want to see? Or should I just move on to another challenge (like deathless, pacifist, or something else)?
I was really wondering if this was a first attempt, you played really well but it still seemed really hard. Maybe an interesting challenge would be to see how few of your pieces you could have captured in the run? I think it would be impossible with no trades but I wonder how low a number you could go, maybe 5? 3?
At one point you played the knight without saving power, but cool challenge run! I wonder if you could make a deck with only pawns or similar units work
Whoops! That's a fun idea. I don't think there are really tools to make a deck like that good right now, but since we don't need a good deck to win, it just might work
I feel the same way, especially when I don't want to play a piece but have to wait until all 3 cards show up then click skip then take my turn. At least we can probably use cheat engine to speed it up

If two chests of different colours contradict each other, then that means at least one chest of these two colours (other than themselves) is a Mimic. You can also extend it to three chests, all of different colours: if two of them contradict the third, then either at least one chest of each of the colours of the first two chests (other than themselves) is a Mimic, or at least one chest that shares a colour with the third chest (other than itself) is a Mimic. It means more than you think. But what you really need to watch out for are boxes that say "There is a Mimic among the [] boxes" where [] is the same colour as it. They're literally telling you "I'm a Mimic" except that you know it's actually true. Similarly, a box that says "There is no Mimic among the [] boxes" where [] is the same colour as it, is telling you that it's not a Mimic, and you can safely open it. Also, you really need to buy crystals, you know. There are a lot of puzzles with multiple possibilities, even outside of Confuse mode. 12:43 There's an easier way to go about this: Since bottom left and middle contradict each other, at least one blue box is a Mimic, which means that blue non-Mimics will lie. So either middle left is lying and bottom left is a Mimic, or middle left is telling the truth and bottom left is not a Mimic. Either way, the leftmost column must have 1 or more Mimics. Once you get that, the rest of the puzzle becomes very easy.
YMMV but I felt that Doubt is the easiest of all the modes here, even easier than the standard mode. Edit: 44:56 If middle left isn't a Mimic, then nor is top middle. You should have opened it before you used the crystal. 46:48 You should have opened bottom middle before using the crystal. But in any case, a problem with this last puzzle is that we don't know if diagonal counts as "side-by-side". If we knew for sure whether or not it does, then we have 5 possibilities instead of 7. After the crystal told us that middle left is not a Mimic, it reduced to 4 possibilities if we knew, and 6 without… but either way, if we had a second crystal and it revealed the middle chest, then we'd know that bottom left was also safe. Otherwise, this puzzle would have needed 3 crystals to open all the boxes, and maybe figure out whether side-by-side also counts diagonals. 48:16 Either top left and bottom right are telling the truth and middle right is lying, or vice versa. That accounts for at least one liar. Additionally, top middle and middle left support each other. So we can split this into three cases: a) Top middle and middle left are lying; top left and bottom right are telling the truth and middle right is lying. Obviously the other 6 boxes are telling the truth. The confused one is middle left, as per the bottom left box. b) Top middle and middle left are telling the truth; top left and bottom right are telling the truth and middle right is lying. Bottom left and by extension bottom middle are telling the truth. This leaves top right, as well as middle, as the two liars. Since top right is lying, middle right is the confused box. c) Top middle and middle left are telling the truth; top left and bottom right are lying and middle right is telling the truth. Again, bottom left and bottom middle are telling the truth. Since middle right is telling the truth, top right is lying, but since there are no blue Mimics, top right must be confused. Then the other two liars must be Mimics, and middle is telling the truth. TL;DR the two Mimics are either top middle and middle right, middle and top right, or top left and bottom right, and one crystal is enough to tell you which pair of boxes are the Mimics. It's easier than the puzzle right before this one, at least.
Confuse is not the final boss, Robbers is. Confuse is actually much easier than Robbers. The first reason is because half the info on the boxes goes to hinting where the Robbers are, leaving only the other half available to tell you where the Mimics are. Even if you tried looking for only Mimics, you'd have a much harder time than if you tried going through Confuse without using any crystal balls. Which brings up the second reason: because Confuse at least gives you 7 crystal balls to start with, to balance out the difficulty. Robbers doesn't even do that. Robbers would probably need at least 14 crystal balls to properly balance out the difficulty. (Note: this holds true even if Robbers lied instead of telling the truth.)
48:16 That final confuse floor is absolutely mental, so I paused and gave a crack at it, treating the death chest as an asleep one. Here was my thought process, with a correction from the replies: Starting with the bottom middle chest; if it is lying, the bottom left chest is a mimic, which leads to too many liars. Same thing if the bottom left chest is confused, too many liars. That makes the bottom middle, bottom left, and middle left chest fully safe. EDIT: A reply pointed out a previous flaw in my logic, where I thought the top middle chest was safe (and the middle left chest was truthful. It can be confused, meaning top middle is a mimic.) Now onto testing the black chests: there cannot be two black lying chests, that would mean the top left chest is lying, and a blue chest is accusing another; too many. So, you are left with three scenarios: Scenario 1: The scenario I missed. Both black chests are truthful, and neither are a mimic. Of the blue chests, the middle right would have to be the mimic, otherwise too many liars. Scenario 2: Middle is a mimic, meaning there is a mimic in the blue chests. Of the two blue chests remaining, it would have to be the top right chest being the mimic, and middle right confused, otherwise too few liars on board. Scenario 3: Bottom right is a mimic, so there is no mimic in the blue chests. In this case, the red remaining chest cannot be confused, and is a mimic. The confused chest would be top right, and the middle right chest is truthful. I originally thought you could open the middle right chest, and you could open it if ignoring the first scenario, which I missed before. All in all, open bottom middle, bottom left, and middle left. Skip the rest. A red crystal solves the floor, as there are 3 different pairs of mimics (top middle + middle right, top left + bottom right, middle + top right.) nasty floor to get a death chest on, good thing you didn't need score from it. Could have gotten me too, since I missed a valid scenario.
There are three scenarios. You left out the possibility of middle left being confused. Fortunately, you only need one crystal to figure out which two chests are Mimics. Unfortunately, there were none left…

The best combo would be Catapult for when the enemy has Spiked Shield, Prince, 2+ Blade Dancers, Extra Daggers relic, Marching Boots relic, and Bannerman. I got a score of over 300 infinty floors but I stopped because I was bored.
2:30 This resignation was a little premature. You still could have escaped to the northeast and gotten some ammo back by the time the other pieces moved again.
39:48 that box wasn't guaranteed to be safe, the blue box on the top right could have been confused, and the boxes on the far left and far right could have been truthfully pointing out the mimic on the bottom right. 42:00 why not open the two blue boxes that are guaranteed to be safe? did you think there were 2 mimics?
At 2:12 you made the wrong assumption that there could be a third mimic in the black box, and left it unopened. I wonder if its content would have helped.
So glad you’re doing score runs! This has really helped me learn a lot about the game. I would have never guessed the score calculation was what it is lol.
You have to open a lot of chests as well. Technically having upgrades reduces your score but it's a very small effect and you're saving time by having upgrades. There's a score breakdown in the steam discussions. I'll edit this comment when I have a chance to look it up
I personally find the doupt game mode harder than confuse because in confuse you always have the same number (3) of liars and have free blue orbs Still gg that's for sure not the easiest getting 7000 score for "achievement" must be hard
To be fair, the reason you lose so much accuracy from the "Special Dagger" card is because, in Inscryption, the Dagger will heavily tip the odds in your favor by removing one of you eyes. Not sure how well this tradeoff is thou
Once I found out there was a card that gives you the accuracy back it made more sense. It's not great if you just get the replacement eye because it's 2 cards for 2 blade and -3 king HP, but if you also get the second eye upgrade it seems very strong
