It's just king vs king at the start of the game, and your other pieces are cards that you play by saving up mana then spending it once you draw the piece you want to play. Playing a piece doesn't cost your turn, but you can only play a piece next to your king. And after each round you improve your deck, just like any deckbuilder roguelike
