Thank you so much for this video, I haven't been able to grow carrots no matter what time of year! They just never come up. Wow I've learned a lot, I see I've been doing everything wrong after watching your instructions. I've always wanted to grow them and couldn't figure out what was wrong and why I never got a single seed to germinate. I grow lots of different vegetables but the carrots eluded me! You got a new subscriber, nice video, clear and to the point!
I’m so glad you liked it. Carrot seedlings can be very delicate. Gentle lift up the cardboard and check to make sure they’re still moist every so often. Once you start getting little sprouts 🌱 remove the cardboard. These little sprouts are very delicate if they dry out at all, they would die. Also, if you wet them too much, they fall over and get stuck in the mud and die. You’re gonna do just great!. 🥕
My cages are 21 inches wide 36 inches long and 12 inches high however you will want to make these the correct size for your growing area so if you’re raised boxes or a different size you can adjust accordingly.
@@BackyardFoodGarden Great advice! I grow the SunGold every year! This year I grew "the purple tomato" the new GMO mater...it is prolific and kids love them. Also black cherry and sweet 100 are awesome cherries. Chocolate stripes, Old German, and Pineapple are some of my favorite beefsteaks..Have a great grow season!
My dogs love it when it's "Carrot O'Clock"! They also love chilled cucumber slices on a hot day. Thank you for sharing. I've subscribed. Blessings, Health, Prosperity and Peace to you and yours and to all who read this! 👍😘😇💖
Hi, the honeynut squash is a rather new hybrid variety developed in the 1980’s. From Butternut and Buttercup. It is about half the size and is so much sweeter. I will always grow this. Roasted together with pecans oh so gooooood! 😃
I have one Early Girl plant growing on my cattle panel trellis and it has two small melons growing on it. Based on your taste review I bet these will be really good when mature! I'm definitely going to save the seeds. This was the last plant the nursery had of this variety.
Hi, the key is knowing when it’s ripe. The main stem coming off the watermelon 🍉 will have a tendril. When that dies and turns brown the watermelon is ripe. However, when your watermelon is almost ripe a large rainstorm can cause it to split so you have to check for ripeness often. Hope tat helps. I grow this melon every year.
