Wow this is so like relevant even though this is probably from 40 years ago this is so relevant in 2023 what with Artificial intelligence and what people like Elon musk want to do with it
That's was awesome. I am working on this robot, for pick and place purpose. Can I have your kinematics, homogeneous and inverse kinematics result of this robot? If so, thank you so much. Wish you have a good day sir
Yeah but what about a horizontal with a B axis ? Do you start at B0 and take your indicator one rev to 0 on your indicator then spin your table and tap your round part half the distance each way til you’re square or should you not start out that way ??
How could you?! How come you're the only one to have the Discovery Science Channel and nobody else has recordings from the former curious place for curious minds?!?!?!?!? HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!
6:54 is the "CHAD Industries" pick and place cell with the PIE end effector. CHAD is an acronym "Customer Hardware and Design" or as the employees would say "Crappy Hardware And Disappointment". it was the only company to survive and was later purchased by Jabil as CHAD made machines for the Google Glass. They were too small and a potential supply chain risk. Jabil purchased CHAD to secure the Google business. The glass went away and Jabil was stuck with CHAD...
I worked here from 1976 to the closing in 1993. This Impala's looks were very bad , causing the closure of the plane, along with the help from president Bush . The car went to Arlington, Texas where president Bush's son (next president) owned the baseball team, Texas rangers, Arlington's only had one car plant . Ann Richardson the Governor, told Bush that she'd move any machinery there for free if he keep the plant open. Willow Run's plant manager called a meeting with all of the workers and told us that he didn't know what happen because Friday we were going to stay open but Monday we were not. Willow Run had a new paint shop that could paint 72 cars an hour but Arlington couldn't paint 40 per hr. Willow Run had airports, trains and freeway only mins away but the plant close . Ypsilanti took GM to court because GM agreed to stay open for tax breaks , for some reason city of Ypsilanti lost in court ( GM bought the judges out)
Yeah man, I was a teenager at the time but even I heard about all the nonsense surrounding the plant closure. Everybody was talking about what a disgraceful move it was...
@@wccti ...Yes you are right. What makes it so bad is that the union wasn't telling the workers the truth. They were actually helping GM by not telling the workers what to do. They said that we could go to Texas but that we couldn't come back and that was a lie and much more bull. Many many people did the wrong thing , some took buy outs . One guy, had 28 years with GM , he took the buy out and before the plant closed he was seen walking with nothing. A sad time in our history, the workers made GM what they are today, by working our asses off, you think they care ?
It is the Caprice not an Impala. I was there from 91 to 93. I loved working there and would have stayed but it was not to be. I was sent to the Tech Center (Industrial Engineer). I hated it. I missed the smell and noise of the plant.
@@suetemple24 . We made the Impala also in 1992......ru-vid.com?search_query=1992+willow+run++impala+ I worked there from 1976 to 1993 when they closed.
@@suetemple24 ....We made the 1992 SS impala also. .....I worked there from 1976 - 1993 . I went to school for clay modeling at Center for Creative Studies Alex Buchan was our instructor he also worked at GM tech center , he was chief sculptor there I think interiors. He gave me a recommendation letter and I was called to work at the tech center by Dan Massack but I had already been called back to GM power train. I still have the letter . I was also called to Ford"s design center on my way to work (GM power train) but the pay was light .
Andy... WOW... I was not in this video but many Genesis Systems - An IPG Company employees are. Many are retired!!! So it is pre-1994. Thanks for Sharing!
Hello - I used the "Haas Trunnion" 5-axis post for this workpiece. It was available from the HSM/Fusion post library, you might be able to search for it on google. That post basically works with any Coldfire Haas using a 5-axis indexer like this.
Yeah they had some cool ideas back in those years! I found this box of old tapes from my predecessor at school. It's all outdated and low quality but I think it's cool stuff in case anybody wants to see old tech
I have one of the versions that came just after this one (S-420iw). General Motors used them for 90% of their body shops in the mid-90's so they were super common on the secondary market and easy to buy!
Why do people leave the shielding gas over a finished aluminium weld. Aluminium is non-reactive so post flow over the weld only wastes argon. You only need post flow to shield the tungsten electrode till it cools down.
