I still got my Miko LXD about to do surgery on that thing... I need to gut that thing out .. trying to figure it out.. salute just found this channel..
just a couple questions.. Do you need a son? What stand are the moogs on? and have you used the udo super 6 and what do you think of it? Great video thanks!
hey is there an updated version of this template? it doesn't seem to be working for me with ableton live 12. Thanks for this by the way much appreciated!!
@@MarshalArnold I have to sit down and really think about it. That is, to get the Kyra for $1500 vs the Iridium for $2500. I like the idea of streaming 8 parts on the kyra, but we'll see.
The ones I was jealous about are the Ion and the JD-800. And yes, you're a zillionaire just by owning those synths. They are an investment of high value.
Keyboard is very attractive but sound is not so much, if you search for realistic acoustic instrument, the engine motors doesn’t bring that as it should be, specially the modeling physique one, lack of programmation or of the engine itself?
At last, someone who showcases this instrument properly. That blush response character likes to rape synths and we never get to hear them properly, he's just so noisy all the time.. This video is by comparison the way demo videos SHOULD be. Thanks for this.
@@MarshalArnold indeed. Even when it first came out it was less appealing to people. Maybe because of its looks, idk.. There is a guy selling one here in greece and I wanted to check how it sounds before buying it. Thanks to your video, I re-remembered it and am going to get it.
You get 3 stereo outs or 6 mono on the 1/4 inch outs, you also have 3 stereo or 6 mono USB outs if you connect the virus to your PC. The synth is 16 part multitimbral, so you are able to use more patches than available outs, if you intended to use all 16 patches some would have to share outputs. I hope that makes sense.
@MarshalArnold I guess thats where I'm confused. I understand and can route the 3 analog channels but say if I wanna make a full track and use 10 of the channels. I guess I'm confused how they separate and get different midi being sent from the daw. Sorry for my ignorance
@dpwishy420 oh yeah, so for the MIDI, each channel patch is pretty assigned if I recall correctly, I tend to use the Access TI plugin, and you can just load patches 1 through 10, and in the DAW just rout output MIDI from each MIDI track to the corresponding channel to the patches in the VIrus and it will trigger each patch. The Ableton project I made for this has all the MIDI channels setup, so you would just fill in the actual patches in the Virus, and select the desired audio output.
Ur the man. I guess I'm confused what analog output means. I'm embarrassed to say I've owned a ti2 for probably 6 years and thought bc there was 3 inputs and outputs in the back I was pigeon holed to 3 channels in my daw. I thought 4 to 16 had to be used in stand alone. You just opened up 13 new channels to my ignorant skull. Thanks so much
Hey there! Thanks for checking out the vid, this was a short sample, full video and track is here, if you'd like to see it 😀 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Cpyyqa-vERk.htmlsi=zgJ8Lbcf0pWtvlQi As for the synths used in this, I used an Access Virus TI2 for the bass, an Oberhiem OB-X8 for a lead, some Roland Cloud for the 303 lines, a V-Synth GT for some pads along with a Kurzweil K2500x, and a bit of Onimnisphere in there also, so a bit of a mishmash of hardware and soft synths used in this. I think it turned out pretty sweet!
bro , can u explain the importance of synths , i grew up on samplers and never really got into synths ...what are there purpose and how can they add to my production process..im a complete noob when it comes to synths , dnt know how they work or what they do
im tryin to get my miko to connect onto the net , but internet explorer isnt actin right , pages wont load properly and just sits and does nothin , i want toput chrome on it so i can download drums and samples ...but i get nothin
it's not capable of 'full polyphony.' the micro modular has 1 DSP chip - your patch uses X percent of that chip. X/100 == how many voices you can use. if your patch is 22% you get 4-voice (up to 88%, sacrificing the remaining 12%). So it's up to how you design the patch. At the top of the editor UI window you can see "R" and "C" - R is the amount of voices you as a user request, C is the amount that it calculated and allocated. If one of your patches is 56%, you get 1 voice on the micromodular. The Regular G1 modular has 4 dsps, so you would get 4 voices. the percentage amounts cannot rollover to other chips. The back of the manual goes into this process in-detail; at least it does that, a lot of other digital synth peeps will just not really tell you how/why a patch load is what it is. The G2 doesn't specify what percentage load each module has, because the interconnectivity of the modules can change their complexity (processing) demands. It is for proper nerds. super fucking fun
@@midinerd Ok, very interesting. Maybe I'll pick one up one day if they're available and not too expensive. I've had Nord Electros but was always looking at this one and the Wave series. Certainly like the idea of virtual modular patching and taking the box to a gig with a controller
great video! Thank you, very informative! Could you please, tell me how can I connect the Roland D-05 to the Roland VR-09 so that it can be controlled from the VR-09?
