Fantastic transition! Was looking for a fun way to get into it. Thinking maybe coming out of it and going into firefly and then changing to other side from there could work too. Wish me luck haha!
Thank you, Lydia for this long class! I love practicing with you and enjoyed your class. Hopefully you will post more longer class like this one. Namaste!
This was amazing. The first 30 minutes was too fast for me and I had to play it with 0.75 speed. This is a perfect sequence for 3 dharma yoga sessions of Sri. Dharma Mitra on alo move! Loved it.
Gorilla trekking is a life changing activity that everyone should experience in a lifetime. Ubuntu Voyages organizes mountain and lowland gorillas treks in the East Africa region. Thanks for sharing this beautiful video which is helpful for potential tourists.
Oh no, adds right in the middle of the class ((video) I guess I’m not going to use this one anymore 😢 (I am more than happy to watch the ads before the the class)
Find out more about this before you join up. Tourists are being led too close to gorillas, who don't want them to invade their territory. I saw one video where a ranger took out a machete and threatened one gorilla. A woman had been standing too close to this gorilla. There must be other ways to make money for this sanctuary. It is just not OK to invade the territory. And then to threaten ... HORRIBLE. This is much like not riding elephants because they are so mistreated. Well, this is mistreatment too. Do your due diligence.
Seeing gorillas must be truly ultimate experience. I would love to go and see for myself. But I read an article which said, majority of the gorillas in all those three countries who have them are no longer that wild anymore. The whole area is now like a one large, open ZOO. There are so many scientists, biologists, vets, guards and then tourists, that these gorillas truly have no privacy. The numbers are growing, as they are very much protected but there is less space for them to share. And there are huge fights going on between the groups and very often there are fatalities. Congo has been expanding the area available for them, which required to evict and move villages further away from the mountains. And it is very very expensive....As yet, I just have to do just a normal safari and see the beasts in the open...lol
Idk what video you're referencing or what country. Rwanda has alot of rules, including distance, # of permits in a day, leaving backpacks & walking sticks right before encounter. I prefer seeing animals in their natural habitat, if they're ok with it, than in a zoo. This helps human prevent complete encroachment on their habitat & destruction of their food source. I wish America was better at finding ways to coexist & protect animals in the wild instead of prioritizing human needs which often push species into extinction. We don't need strip malls everywhere. It's very expensive to get a gorilla trekking permit in Rwanda. Uganda is a little less expensive.
Lydia, I know a PCR test is required before gorilla trekking but did you have to get any vaccinations to travel to Rwanda, i.e. yellow fever vaccine or anything?
Lydia, great vlog of your trip to visit the mountain gorillas! Can I ask, which company did you use to go visit Volcanoes National Park? I'm trying to book a trip for 2023 starting in Kigali and I wanted to have a company to take me there and get my permits etc.
