The salesman pitch when meeting new managers etc is an excellent one. I always say i'm not a social media hype DJ I dont have much of it but I believe I can make you more money from a business point of view and then I run my pitch from there etc lol.
So many valid points I lost count! And so many that I can relate too. Starting DJing later on has worked in my favour because it meant I was able to go out regularly when I was younger. I used to love going to raves and nights out frequently. However, these days I’m now providing the music for everyone else on the dance floor 😆
Mate it’s probably the best way to do it! I can’t tell you the amount of socials I have missed because I’ve been working! Thanks as always for watching
Nice video man, got the FLX4 2 days ago but DHL late delivering my speakers and headphones so using it slowly. Had 1210s back in the day and dug all my old records out from my parents at the weekend! Looking forward getting to grips with this new kit 😃
Hi, some advice for up-and-coming young DJs I would look at the back catalogue of music on the USB drives that CD Pool offers, or I would look at some of the Master Mix playlists that you can download off the website. You should be able to get everything you need for a wedding from the nineteen fifties to the 2020s.and CD pool have similar playlists for club and dance music to so you should be covered to no matter what type of event you do
Thanks for this video! You are the only one who explained it quite clearly. But I have an issue. I also have FLX-4, the free trial ended and now it's showing Free plan and the owner/product registration is greyed out, so I can't access it for some reasons even though I have connected the controller to my Mac. Seems very weird since FLX-4 is in the list of hardware unlock devices. Does the functionality of recordbox varies from Free to Free plus plan when you complete owner registration? I want to use AI detection of vocal position . Thank you in advance for your answer.
You’ll need to subscribe for the vocal detection- I believe that’s on the creative plan. Very strange with why you can’t unlock the ‘free-plus’ plan as that is certainly available for your controller. Might be worth reaching out to Pioneer on their forum to ask what is going wrong.
@@djkarlthomas Thanks for you reply! Already did reach out to them, hopefully they will help. However since a have a gig today I had to subscribe to Creative plan. Just wanted to ask if you have access to AI detection of vocals on your Free Plus plan on your Mac?
@@djkarlthomas Got it. I usually know my tracks , just recently started playing with new genre so it was quite helpful. Thanks for that. Appreciate it.
Unfortunately not a fan op ZipDJ. Love the concept and i was happy with them for quite some time. However they started to charge me double / had multiple subscriptions active at the same time. After some one sided case communication they blocked me off their platform. Not sure what a great alternative would be, time for some digging and looking at reviews of competitors.
Who cares about a terrible video. Most of the big events do professionally produced videos you can go back and watch on RU-vid anyway so just enjoy the moment :)
Just remember streaming is just another thing to go wrong, a DJ should have a good selection of tunes to cater to most people anyway on their drive. I dont like the the idea of owning nothing and been happy, always build your own library. Spotify,Apple Music,Amazon Music,Tune In etc are a cancer to the music industry for me its all about controlling what you consume. 90% of my music is now promos that are sent to me, I like to avoid record pools especially the likes of Mash-Up as I don't want to sound the same as every other DJ. Just me personally...
Good vid but wow! as soon as u said right click to drop the track to a playlist i thought naa naaa naaa now i know why i reverted back to version 6 cheers 😂
I think Bandcamp is still underrated in certain parts of the dj world, even for purchasing music from bigger names. You get to choose between lossless and any of the other lossy codecs and the artist gets the highest cut possible compared to other digital stores. Physical media is also sold on there for those that are into that.
So true what you’re saying about the streaming services. For me personally I will stick to zip dj just because I like having a collection like you were saying. I’m also pretty good at updating my music library on zip dj for the latest tracks too 👌🏼
Good advice to own your core library (back catalogue) and rent/stream the new stuff. The ability to access millions of tracks without needing to buy them has devalued music to the public, along with so much being uploaded (one every second on Spotify). It's hard to find the occassional needle among the millions of haystacks.
I operate XDJ 700 via USB at a community radio station. I prepare my list at home using the 6.8.5 version of Rekordbox; same as over there. Would I need to get on a subscription plan if I use Rekordbox 7?
Hi ! Listener from Naarm/Melbourne Australia, the filming phenomenon has also reached a crisis point here, sad to see the energy and intimacy leave the dancefloor due to people filming but we do have a few event companies incorporating a ‘no phone policy’ taping up cameras , which makes such a huge difference, warms me to see everyone just immersed in the music and dance amongst themselves. I think the real issue is not so much the culture but the type of punter that will attend certain parties. The true lovers of the music don’t want to film because they understand etiquette. The issue arises with new punters that don’t understand true club etiquette. It is important to remind attendees with a list of rules/guidelines that outline the clubs expectations but to also have a good time and not worry about your phones. My colleagues and I implement strong a ‘no phone policy’ at every event. We will sometimes still have a designated videographer, lurking the dancefloor to capture candid moments of the dj and attendees. It provides a good archive of memories from the night that is of high quality, unlike mobile phones.
Additionally, I believe as much as it helps to have ‘viral’ moments for the success of a club , a place such as berghain operates and thrives off its name. It hasn’t given in to the nature of technology and still inforces a ‘no phone policy’ & it shows how important it is. Having an event with no punter pov footage is more powerful in my opinion because if the people have a memorable experience they can explain it!!! Word of mouth is a hell of a thing…the lack of footage provokes FOMO which is an important part of getting attendees into a club. If they see a video from the club they were intending to go to and its not busy they will assume its not worth attending. But in reality it could be a beautiful energy on the dancefloor, its hard to capture the pure and raw feelings on the dancefloor if its on a shitty iphone with abysmal audio recording.
*This is coming from a techno DJ perspective for reference* Techno culture is very important to me & preserving the old school ways is part of it. The techno bible if you will XD
Hey mate please can you he;p as ive bougth a mixer then registered it but when i installed rekordbox it gave me a trial version is there a way i can change that and move it off trial thanks
When you plug in the device while rekordbox is open it should prompt you to link rekordbox with that device changing the free trial icon in the top right to free plus. It must be a hardware unlock device to do this.
Well they should start playing good music and once and for all stop playing the same overplayed tired sh1t songs such as happy, black eyed peas stuff, pitbull etc etc. That's the main reason why I stopped going. It's utter rubbish. Expose the crowd to good stuff, take the risk. Whenever I go to berlin or hungary the clubs i go don't play any pop radio songs, yet they're full, everyone dancing high energy. I personally need intense beats to get myself moving, generic pop stuff just makes my eyes roll and i walk out since I can my style at home and have a blast.
so brotha, i’m tryna mix some dnb/techno n stuff around that area. what would be the best dj pool you’d recommend for that? i’ve literally got a whole list of tracks i wanna spin but i don’t really know where i’d be able to find em. ik i can get em all here on youtube, but i got no idea if i could even grab em off of here n put em into rekordbox. pretty new to the whole thing, got a ddj flx 4 and i’m kinda just bsing w/ these random soundcloud tracks that are included
If you have specific tracks you are after I would recommend buying them individually rather than relying on a pool. What you are after is pretty specific
don't waste money on dj pools for Techno and Psychedelic, because I did. I tried djcity, bpm supreme and zipdj.. for other Genre dj city is good & Club Killers also.
@@madnixxvlogs so dj city and klub killers is good? bc i’ve been using the soundcloud option they got but for whatever reason on rekordbox when i got to export mode the soundcloud tab entirely disappears and i can’t put any of my shit on a usb so i got no idea what to do really
how can I change the sampler default folder path in my MacBook? the rekordbox folder is automatically set to my music folder and ive managed to move the recordings folder to another directory but the samples is still stuck there (I don't use samples at all) and each time I delete it it comes back when I start rekordbox. how can I fix this? thanks :)
