Electric motors should be near silent, not clunking, your motor is toast unless you take it apart and see what is loose. Which will void any warranty you have, if you have one.
Besides the noises it makes when at low rpm until i changed pid parameters i never really clunks while driving and i can't hear it due to wind and chain noise but it FEELS like its clunks hard when the error happens Regardless it doesn't seem normal on the motor. Seems like it happens because the motor malfunctions.
@@ItsMallie if you don't have a warranty, I would open it up, if you can. I don't know if it is a sealed unit or not. There's probably some loose parts in there that move around at low speed but when it spins at high rpms they are pushed into place from the centrifugal forces. You might be able to fix it yourself.
@@Toutvids IDK If i have the tools to open it simply because the force of the magnet But. I did a small test and im not sure but this may be a dumb question. Aren't the 3 phase wires on the motor suppose to push an equal amount of current? If they are suppose to the blue wire on the motor is alot lower than the other two wires as where the other two are close to equal on the first test the green wire was a bit higher than the yellow and the second test the where about similar but during both test the blue was always alot lower. Im going to switch the wires around and do a little more testing and probably do an update video but that so far is what i've discovered and im leaning towards the motor possibly being defective.
i beleive at certain motor torques you are getting too much power. Different phases of the motor. so lets say its a 40v motor, and you go from 30, to 32, to 34, to 36 and then 40,, when you are supposed to be at 34 volts, you are getting 36 volts.. Each phase needs gets its on max,, Kinda like if you switch from 1st gear to 3rd,, its a big jump and jolt.. but since its electronic, and not mechanical, the voltage is jumping too high. maybe use some kind of thing to use up battery voltage. like attatch something that eats up 12 volts,, that may slow down the voltage and if you ride with that for a few minutes and no problem, then you know its the regulator in the motor or another componant in the motor. well,, I mean the controller.. cause the controller controls the motor.. maybe your ground is not correct.. The ground on an ebike is not the same as on a regular motorcycle, maybe you grounded it like a regular motorcycle. One more thing, are the blinkers LED linked to an LED controler? If your blinkers are supposed to be regular 12 volt motorycle and you hooked it up directly to a controller, that could throw the electronics off as well giving you too much voltage.
For the blinkers I have everything 12v hooked up to a dc-dc converter that down steps 120v down to 12 But the converter is hooked up directly to the battery not the controller. For everything else i don't really have anything else that can eat up battery but my best though is to keep the battery at like 109v or lower and only charge up to 109v and see if it ever cuts off because i swear it only cuts off when the battery is fully charged.
I would say you are running a little to much power. Try 400-500 line and 1200phase. I also think the high voltage is not helping. I also had some issues with the motor and controller kits i ordered on alie but every time i got perfect customer service thay send me a new one or send it back for repair. Just talk to them thay wil definitely help you out. Good luck and keep up the good content.
Can't be the power. Like said in the video this also happens in gear one which is only 175 bat amps 600 motor amps Yet it will still cut out. For voltage i might nee to research one more time because i could of swore i saw people use this controller at 28s / 117v the setting also show over voltage protect at 121 i would also think if its a high voltage problem i would get the overvolt protect error but i don't i get "phase current overflow" Again some more research will be done because i could be wrong. Im clearly wrong somewhere lol
@ItsMallie sorry I missed it also happens in gear 1. I still think you are running to much power. Even if you had no issues 750a at that voltage that is just mad. I would test it with no more than 114v and 450a/1200a if that fixes it don't over charge or get a nd108
Like said in the video its not the battery. BMS does not cut out or show a single error the bike trips in gear one which is only 175 battery amps 600 phase amps and typically phase amps can be 2x to 3x the battery amps. The battery can handle up to 945 amps bms can handle 380 continues 950 peak Again battery doesn't show errors it doesn't trip, It doesn't heavily sag neither does it get hot. Its gotta be the controller or motor but i need to figure how to diagnose it to know.
Are you sure the three power wires to the motor are in the correct order, I know on ebike hub motors that even if the motor and controllers have the same color wires that they can run, sometimes they run better not matching the color wires together especially when the motor and controller are from different manufacturers.
I tried to switch them and then use the phase exchange in the fardriver app, the motor wouldn't even spin but going off of what your saying I either need to find the correct pattern because i might of not tried every pattern i could or i need to do it again with phase exchange off because with the wires in the correct color pat still doesn't even spin correctly with that setting Im honestly not sure what that setting is for i thought it would be for that reason but... Guess not.
@@ItsMallie I know how frustrating problems like this can be(ask me how I know, lol) a while back a hub motor bike was doing that klunkin' but ran fine other than that but just tinkering I switched the 3 motor wires around and the slight klunkin' went away and the motor ran just a little smoother, and that is why I run permanent magnet brushed motors on my electric motorcycles.😏
@@anunnakielohim2727 well im def gonna try again because if i can get it to work and not have to spend another 1k i will be happy af but im really trying to search for hope in this and im gonna keep trying until i completely run out of ideas.
Yeah looking it up, it's the motor. The windings arn't in match. ---- Oh that sounds bad! the motor needs replaced. IF you got it straight form QS or aliexpress message them. I'd heard they'll just send one out! You know with that last bit, I looked up 96v controller, which one do you have I dont see 108 supported on the ones marked 96v only. You would need a 108v controller from fardriver right?
so in the video i forgot to mention when the error happens the motor does clunk and what i mean is if you look at the clips i showed you can see i jolt forward a bit when the error happens its not a very smooth turn off i can hear and feel the motor clunk up and have a bit of a ruff stop. I bought the motor way back in aug 2023 but couldn't actually use to until early march due to having to get more money for the bike then actually build it so do you think they would still send a replacement? got mine from aliexpress. for the controller i've seen other people use 28s batteries with it and in the settings its overvolt protect is 121 so i would think that shouldn't be a problem but at this point idk anymore.
@@ItsMallie Yeah I'm not sure what it is! It never hurts to ask. The worst they can say is no! Then maybe complain a bit more lolol :P They might even know the fix also!
@@caldeio Yeah regardless if they say no i planned on spending the money so it is what it is. I have contacted them about the controller no help sadly but im gonna see what they say about this motor
Some kind of problem. Out in woods, hit the turbo button and DEAD. I know it's not the battery, I had a replacement especially built. Charging to an ebike, at least I can ride it back instead of pushing it 2 miles. Looonnng.
Great video, deserves a LOT more views, likes, and comments. That said, I'm only 22 minutes in and I'm liking the Insta360 Ace Pro th3 best, especially the night time footage. Colors seem more vibrant in daylight too. Some people might say "it's over saturated"... but I prefer the look of it. As a side note, I'm watching from work where my cell service isn't the best, so I'm only watching in 480p... so it's harder for me to really tell the difference. The GP12 and Ace pro both look like good quality in daylight, edge to Ace bc of my color preference... and Ace is noticeably better at night.
I absolutely love the saturated look of the ace pro i personally just love vibrant colors as long as it isn't over done. But me personally even with the quality difference that i feel i see between the go pro 12 and ace pro i would have just got the ace pro and a true 360 came if the ace pro had a hyperview like the go pro 12
this thing is so awesome. I absolutely love those wheels. just a fyi PBI sprockets out of portland oregon will custom make sprockets at a vary reasonable price.
That looks like you have cut them your self as they are both clean cut if they where trapped or broken wires the would not look that iam a electrician so I know when wrie as a clean cut
Not to be rude but... Just because your an electrician doesn't mean you know everything. Again not trying to be rude but it would be a waste of time for me to cut the wires just to do this simple ass video.
Ayy thats crazy to see you commenting here! Been watching since late 2020 the onyx rcr days. Yeah this little bike is really fun but according to the comments this is just a remake of the Geofought and a few others and they all do the same speeds of 45 - 50 so im curious to what Outbreaker is gonna do for more speed & power, I would assume probably stronger cells.
I can just see you in the middle of the pack turning off to go home and the back half of the pack following you to your house 😆glad you had a mostly problem free ride!
Those crap gas bikes make a lot of unnecessary noise. Regarding your cut outs maybe try to find a fardriver specific forum so somebody with a knowledge of them can recommend you some working parameters, i know there are more than just phase current and throttle which could affect this.
Other than the horrible wields. What a crazy build basically build the bike from ground up. Also, chop up the video into 20 minutes intervial to get that sweet sweet youtube algorithm recommendation! Keep up the good work. Subbed
It definitely matters. One is Negative connection the other is positive and the last would be the signal connection. as of right now i can't remember what color is what on the surron cable though
Sry for the multiple comments! p60 battery? Molicel Xtreme? 90c discharge and 45c charge rate???? speechless there Did you see 18650batteryjuntion had p45a for $4.15 and p45b for $5.50. The p45a soldout! I was just checking and was like damn I missed out! :D Seems the p50b pushed everything down in price! which is how it should be! I'm trying to get a quote on a tingtong/baan lithium 72v lifepo4 battery it's 370 amp cont. 350$ introductory offer, I just don't know how much shipping is. I dont know the size either lol
Ayy! I don't mind the comments. p60 and xtreme? are those like new molicel batteries? if so i got to research those Ive actually only have used liionwholesale for buying batteries so sadly no i did not see that discount but damn thats a really good price. 370amps thats a nice battery! Im curious what you got planned with it? go kart, atv, motorcycle?
@@ItsMallie Honda crf450x. I decided electric is really nice and quiet and I don't really need the range. 20 25miles would work if I can charge in like a food break or shopping trip IF I maxed that out. I've done 5 miles crusing on a short night trip on my little mx350. It has a 36v lifepo4 with the vevor 48v motor. does 20mph stock geared. SO FUN! hurts my butt lol If I had a bigger more comfortable bike, I could get way more enjoyment and more destressing time from my youngins', 3 boys.. It's also .07 a kwh to charge up.. and gas is about $4 here in Ohio. (crf gets 30-45?? MPG maybe) ther adding a supercharger about 7 miles away from my house, closer to the big cities. Also one south but it's just more country that way. I'm selling off my gas engine stuff atm. I posted links but I think they got taken down. Search- E-One Moli Energy on LinkedIN Pics of the xtreme but I only found the name p60. There working on that now. So maybe next year? It's the same tech as the p50b. Silicon
That is basically a modified Geofought Molo 5. So whatever markup price from the original Chinese branded bike, you are just paying for those modifications from the original. And if I am not wrong, this will be about twice the price of what the Molo 5 is going for now on the Geofought website. #Molo5
Don't think its both of yall fault. Its the median being too tall. Both of yalls would not have seen each other till the last sec. It was an accident and you are lucky to walk away from it. The cop is right, you are a vehicle so you have to follow the rules of the road. And you are right about not riding on the sidewalk. This would not have happened. Ride safe bro.
As much as i blame myself for this incident it just makes me happy to see someone in this comment section watched the full video to actually understand what fully happened... thank you.
Trust me its not going to go 80 or 90mph he is wrong. The controller wont allow it. I am in contact with the company in china that makes that ebike/scooter
Yeah somebody in the comment section told me its a Geofought Molo 5 redesign and after searching them up this config he has is the max you can get for this scooter now geo proclaims it can do 43-75mph with his config but these companies be lying sometimes so....
@@andrewtherman The reason i'll recommend a thumb throttle and just my personal experience with twist throttles. Twist throttles for me always become comfortable, im constantly repositioning my wrist so it can be in proper position and they are just to easy to whiskey throttle which i have done before into a bush on a different scooter, shit i almost whiskey the surron with its stock twist. Thumb throttles are comfortable, easier to controller when it comes to dealing with a very powerful bike and just damn near impossible to whiskey throttle
Definitely subscribing. You’ve got the right mindset when it comes to these e-bikes & cameras. I’m good under 45 max, even though my bike’s capable of more, but feels unsafe at too high a speed. Might have to get the AcePro; do you have any particular settings or is it straight out the box?
The settings for this video where some customs settings from an old update on the camera but the cameras new updates kinda limited what you could do with its pure video but honestly didn't make anything worse. Do to the new update i can't mess with ISO, Shutter, ETC but in order to get this same look with auto settings i just use EV. EV still allows me to tone the brightness down a little so things don't look washed out and over exposed.
17:35 I just bought my 1st minibike - electric Ebox Dragster . You can add a wheelie bar to it. Its has a lot torque. 60v 2kw-3kwpeak and only $1450 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ixx9-47n5-w.htmlsi=3NuGvujEp2A9fXJD
That's just an off-brand of the Geofought Molo 5, it's been out for almost a year now on Alibaba but now they sell out of California as well. The Dokma version is called the D-NOVA, and FLJ version is called the F1 are other brands that have bought this design from Geofought.
Wow so this thing is just old news lol damn. After searching it up its still cool scooter but all the upgrades for the "final product" can't be true. The this thing has the Geofought's max upgrades which should still be able to do at least 65-70mph at least that's what Geofought Proclaimed But i just don't see how fitting more power for 90mph would be possible.
@@ItsMallie They claim to have a 15000-watt version as well, but even if they do, I think for its size, what your friend has is plenty. I believe these were made to compete with the Emove RoadRunner market
@@lionelhowell4972 they probably use stronger cells like molicel or pouch cells But this is definitely better than the emove much faster, better in comfort and much better looking.
This thing's like a dual hub motor standup scooter with a comfy seat and shortened steering. So I imagine loads of point and squirt torque, quiet, short wheelbase, and easy to ride on road/pavement - zigzag pedestrians all day. No long suspension so not good offroad and twitchy steering on bumps/potholes. Fun machine.
