Great video! Universal Design is a great concept that adds a lot of lifetime value to the home. Love seeing Paragon add these design features into their luxury homes. It truly is a benefit to all homeowners and future homeowners. It would be nice to see more local builders following the lead of Paragon, and adding these features on every home. Way to go, Josh!

I've been living in Raleigh for 13 years after living in cities such as Washington, D.C., NYC, Tampa. I had to move to Raleigh after getting married as my wife was from here. Here are my reasons it's not for everyone and I agree with the video. 1. Cost of housing is expensive for the city that you get. If you're going to spend a lot of money on housing you typically get "more for your money" in other cities in regards to culture, activity, arts. 2. Everything, and I mean everything, closes early. Try finding food after 9 pm....or god forbid a cup of coffee or a cool place to hang out. Go ahead.... 3.There's no concentration of people....everyone is spread out across the triangle and while that seems beneficial, doesn't give you a sense of "city", more just a collection of suburbs and "areas" 4.Traffic - has gotten exponentially worse the past 7=10 years as people move here and the construction projects that go with 5.It's a pretty boring city - sure there's theaters and concerts, but which ones? pursue a list and you won't recognize any "top" acts in many genres. Raleigh doesn't attract top performers, shows, or anything else a big city gets. 6.Lack of professional teams - as it's said in the video, there's hockey (which I'm a huge fan of) but professional sports teams bring in people and events. Contrast to a city of similar size like Nashville which has Football, MLS, Hockey, etc 7. This is a place for families. period. everything is geared towards that vibe so if you're a young professional, single, or older with no kids I think there's way better cities to live in with art, culture, restaurants, etc at the same price point. -Good luck

As a native, what I dislike most is the influx of people since "best place to live" from Money magazine in 1994. It hasn't stopped, and as the Eagles sang, "call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye". Raleigh today is nothing like the great place it used to be. Home prices, traffic, clear cutting lots, it's a shame this once great place has been overrun.
When Governor Hunt was governor during his first two term he proposed a high speed rail system that would have run from Wilmington to Raleigh in 1995 and from Raleigh to Charlotte in 2000 that was derailed by corporate interests, and I will not divulge.
