I knew it might be the little kid that caught the 500 lb shark, because even though he got it in close by himself, it did say he needed help from a group of men to bring it all the way in. Also, a little boy catching that makes big news, an adult catching it, not quite so much. I heard once about a 5 year old who caught an 8 lb bass on his toy Spiderman reel ! So things like that can happen.
The acoustics must be terrible in the studio. Every episode the guests and panel all seem to struggle with hearing others. I haven't seen the entire layout of the studio, but it seems the panel also has to lean forward to see/or hear the contestants.
I wonder if the gentleman who owns a RX and won all that money,. . . Knew the IRS was giong to be up. I also wonder, was this actually a setup to get this man's taxes. Does anyone know . . the rest of the story.?
Mayor or not, he didn't know who E.B. White was. Who hasn't read "Stuart Little" or at least knows titles of White's other books, and he was from Long Island! Now that is what I call depravity.
What's with Collyer? The first contestant did not get the phrase in the correct order yet he gave her the television. Is that fair to all past and subsequent contestants who get it incorrect and lose the tv?
It is unfortunate that instead of the outstanding Dr. Seuss and other readers from my own childhood we now have librarians, teachers, administrators, school boards and even parents focusing on sexually explicit books from the moment children start public school. No wonder we have a disturbing number of failing and mentally ill children.

And you could see Johnny Carson talking to Kitty Carlisle I'd like to know what he said to her but I'll bet you he definitely mentioned that she took too long to answer when she had the answer 🤥
It is with sadness that I inform you that Roxanne Rosedale, the model who assisted Bud Collyer, passed away at age 95. Without Roxanne, there would not be a Vanna White. RIP Roxanne.
Whenever a panelist asks the same question of all three contestants, they either all don't know or they all give the same answer. (Maybe the last two get their answer from the first person).
I have to agree with the panelists who praise the work of Willie Stein, the apparent coordinator who preps the challengers. I've heard panelists mention his name in the past, too. These guests are consistently so well prepared, it's truly amazing. His work manages to fool me every time too! I tip my cap to Mr. Stein.
I bet that art dealer sold at least a few paintings from some artists that later became established names. Since he sold over 150,000 paintings from all over the place, logic would suggest that at least a few of those artists made it big later on.
