Orson Bean's regular cracks about all things Fire Island (on this and many of his other TTTT episodes) were hysterical. Back then, no one could "say anything", but his gentle double entendres were nonetheless priceless. (Which makes me wonder: might this John Waters be related to the filmmaker from Baltimore? Now THAT would warrant some Fire Island humor!)
An announcement made for the first Super Bowl which would be played six days later at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The official name of the game for the first two games was "AFL-NFL Championship Game", but unofficially it was referred to as "Super Bowl" right from the start. The game was telecast on both CBS (the network for the NFL) and NBC (the network for the AFL) so CBS was competing for viewers who had an alternative. That is unusual for most major sporting events in the U.S. and it was the only time the Super Bowl was simulcast.
What is in that glass that Orson hugs all the time. You hardly ever see any other panelist take a sip of theirs. He seems waxed on many episodes.Too many episodes.
