Its not that there isn't technology to go full electric for cars. Or that we can't provide enough green energy to fuel that. Its that keeping the status quo makes certain rich people even richer
The issue is how.to produce synthetic fuel in volume and nett zero .! Currently synthetic can only be produced in very small quantities compared to quantities required 😅

Seems like you would need a lot of SOMETHING to make that much synthetic fuel, and the people who sell that SOMETHING will become as powerful as the oil companies (governments not excluded)
1/3 of global energy production will be from renewables by 2025, that's next year. Crybabies had to be dragged kicking and screaming to this point, and it seems they won't stop until we make it to the end.
Synthetic fuels dont achieve net zero, they are more intensive to make than drilling for oil, ao they release carbon like oil, but they also needed a hell of alot in creation
i fully agree with this . although i got an EV as company car . for me it's perfect , but i'm not everyone. i can charge at work and only have to charge every 2 weeks
Of course, all this is centered around the false premis that carbon is a problem. It isn't. In fact the planet is very low on carbon presently compared to previous eras where it was much higher and there was an explosion of life on this planet. More carbon is needed, not less. Oh, and carbon increasing doesn’t cause increasing temperatures. The planet warms due to sun activity and then carbon levels rise. But blaming carbon is a nice little earner for some.
I think what it would do is eliminate carbon output as a cost factor and stabilize pricing. It would definitely be more expensive, but wouldn't fluctuate. And we could all budget again.
They pestered Bob Seger for his consent to use "Like a Rock" in their campaign. Bob was reluctant to let them use it because he felt that it would betray his father, who worked his entire life at the Ford Corporation in Detroit. Bob was raised on Ford money and values. Finally, Bob relented and let them use it. 😅
Rich people bang on about electric but they habe no clue about how this will effect the poorer majority. Take the UK for example, millions don’t have a drive and have to park in the street. How do they charge up? The infrastructure will not be in place for all electric this century. If you say “oh well the poor will have to stop driving then” OK. See how well that effects the economy then. No one doing all the jobs that fuel the rich businesses as they can’t get to work as they can’t charge their car as they don’t have anywhere to plug in on the street. Use some common sense. Think about it ffs! Unless the government line all the kerbs with plug sockets it is not going to happen.
Ok listen up, you simpletons: the issue is the EMISSIONS filling up our neighbourhoods. We've become accustomed to this idea that it's normal to breathe in oxygen that is diluted severely by vehicle emissions. That it's OK to walk your newborn baby around a street where the air can barely be called air at all. Electric vehicles will help localise the production of emissions (alternative fuel emissions or otherwise) to a set number of locations (power plants producing the electricity to power electric vehicles), where the fumes can be controlled and filtered. That's the point of it. Christ, you all seem to forget that. Do you all LIKE breathing in fumes? This boomer talking in the video seems to forget that ""synthetic fuels"" will also produce harmful emissions when burned in a combustion engine. God damn this species is brain dead.
We should have went all in on hybrids earlier until we have the proper infrastructure to eventually go full electric, but he and his Top Gear cohorts turned a generation off hybrids by constantly shitting on the Prius.
