I don't know, maybe it's better to be a younger person and not turn into a blubbering fool when they hear something like this! I'm a Jew and an American patriot - and I'll always be! Thank you guys( oh, and I saw saw fiddler in Yiddish twice)!

Dear < Lisa Fishman > Hope you are doing well. I was analyzing your RU-vid channel . I'm really impressed by your videos but your RU-vid channel has some issues. You have made many videos but your RU-vid channel is not getting views and subscribers.Your thumbnail design is not attractive, you should use good thumbnails to increase your video views, because a good thumbnail increases a video views. Because you have no complete SEO any videos, Channel tags are not used, Video Tag is not powerful. 0 added end screens and cards, not SEO friendly title and description. If you complete all tasks then you get more views and subscribers with monetization.

Yiddish is a West German language, originating from the 9th century. Jewish refugees from Germany fled to the more hospitable cities in Poland, after accusations of blood-libel in 1348, following the outbreak of Black Death. Yiddish was then a variety of Middle High German, and did not change so much; in fact, it is much easier, if you are in command of Yiddish, to understand Middle HIgh German.

Great! The Yiddish film before WWII is good, but I like the film starring Chaim Topol!

The translation feels weird. tog in tog aoys doesn't quite have the same meaning as sunrise sunset. The meaning is more equivalent to always or contiuously. Teg kumen teg geyn would be a better translation surely. It is about the passing of time after all.

One of the finest films ever made. I sometimes wonder if it shouldn’t be made compulsory viewing in schools.

1960: My grandfather used to sit in our driveway on Long Island and pet the family dog: He always said "In America, even a dog is lucky!" If he were alive today, he would not be pleased at our recent politics. But he would still love America.

This made me cry. And I am not even American. I am Canadian. But the sentiment of the song resonates.

My loyalty as an American Jew has always been to this great country. If not for America my grandparents and father would've died in the Nazi death camps. My zayde and bubbe came here to America in 1903 and 1911, respectively. I will never be loyal to any other country. Yes that includes the zionist one.

Prefer Lisa singing this song to Nancy's Solo. Lisa really brings this song to life. Great version.

I suspect this vocal rendition is based on the original stage Nancy (B4 the movie) Georgia Brown. I dont like affectation in songs. Those bad glottal stops and unneccessary affectations that just make the song go from tragic to dreadful...but, in this instance it kinda works. Its Raw, untamed, and powerful whilst not being as OTT with the acting and protestations as Georgia Brown was. The thing that actresses seem to forget when playing Nancy or even a role like Grizabella is that the emotion should be lead by the characters inner monologue and physicality, not just being swept along by the music and tbe fact that it happens to crescendo at certain points. Doing that only makes the character a 'BRAND' Not a flesh and blood human with real feelings and emotions. This is one of those songs that can cause an actress to step too far over the line I think sometimes, thus rendering the trauma unbelievable.

Great acting, but for me the vocals get drowned out by the instrumentals. It's as if the vocals serve as accompaniment for the instrumentals instead of vice versa. 🤔

Most linguists would consider Yiddish to be a dialect of German.
