In Ann Arbor, he where he was a star QB and DB for Huron High School. Toney often went to Detroit for sparring at Kronk and elsewhere, but it was never his home. The documentary is playing up the whole 'scary black man from the ghetto' vibe for its British audience. The reality is more complicated, and more interesting.
